Official French Montana Thread

Had I listened to French Montana for the first time based solely off his official album, I would've never listened to him again  Glad I caught on him in 2006, and was able to know what good stuff he had before his debut

Halfway through, so far so good. IDK about it being his best work tho...We'll see.

sanctuary is his best song...and my favorite song ever...

but this tape is doodoo...

as hard as he tries he won't replicate those type of tracks ever, because he is not the same anymore--plain and simple..

those tracks were made while he was in a different state of mind and heart...now its a different game and fame...

i don't expect anything special from this dude anymore other than talking about glitz and glammer...

sanctuary though...thats a whole other level of feels :smokin

^Except for he dropped that Mac and Cheese Appetizer just last year. Some of his best work ever imo, much of it on par with Sanctuary.

Haven't listened to the tape yet, French never been the model of consistency tape to tape but hopefully its good.

Lock jaw is ******* slapping the hell out of my ears, Jesus.

Was suspicious of this tape cause any current tape with hosted/presented by Max B, I assume it's a throwaway since Max clearly can't legit have input on music now, but I'm actually surprised it's pretty good. There's an outrageous amount of autotune, and the mixing/mastering is a bit off, but it has some nice joints on here. Old Man Wildin, Off the Rip Remix, Holy Moly, All Over w/ Chinx, and Figure It Out are all nice. Can't hate on Lock Jaw and Man In My City either. Mixtape French comes through again. I don't even know that guy who dropped Excuse My French

Don't take it personal.

It's always seemed to me that thorough NY rappers were behind their counterparts in other regions when it came to mixing and mastering, and just overall presentation of their projects.

I don't take it personal. It just appears like you have no clue what you're talking about.

I'm not mad at all. I'm just stating the obvious. You sound like you know nothing about 40 years worth of music. And you're making a broad generalization supported by a French Montana mixtape off all things.

I don't discuss rap with people, because rap fans make rap fans look stupid.
