id call em charcoals since theres a gang of "playoffs" already. Good people stop sayin raptors though almost bad as freds (fire reds).

I see them called "True Red VII" sometimes.

Because i saw the ogs during my school days, and yes The toronto raptors were born in late 1995 along with The vancouver grizzlies. I think most people who call these raptors Were too young back in 1992.

I refer to every black/red Jordan as Playoffs cause the Bulls always wore black sneakers during the playoffs.

when thousands of ebay post has these listed as raptors a decade later after its initally retro, da sailboat has sailed as far as "renaming" this nickname...

i mean its simple, it addresses da prominant purple colorblocking all over da shoe, and its easy to remember...whats da big deal?

i was thinknig of cool greys or some other retro + colorway up in here only to find out OP has a agenda to change da course of "nickname history" cuz he thinks raptors is ehh

Title is misleading.

That's what im saying. In NY the 02' release were knows as the raptor vii's. Where they get shadows from puzzles me.

"Renaming" a nickname happens all the time:

Example: Puff Daddy becomes P. Diddy then Diddy

Air Max III becomes Air Max 90

Air Max IV becomes Air Classic Bw

It makes sense to call the Heineken SB Dunks "Heineken's" because that was the inspiration for them

The Orlando 7 Jordan from the DMP was inspired by the Orlando Magic color scheme - calling them "Orlando 7s" makes sense

"Hare 7s" make sense cause Bugs Bunny was in the Super Bowl commercial as "Hare Jordan" wearing that colorway

These Jordans were not inspired by the Toronto Raptors, so I don't refer to them as "R*****s"

Imma call them "mine" when they come out. I like the black ones myself with out the grey. Imo but ill take either one.

Calling them the raptors sounds un intelligent to me but to each their own call them black and purple dog turds if it makes you happy. They'll always be playoff vii's to me

Playoff VII's is the only nickname I'd correlate with these shoes.
