He is so underrated, I mean look at what he does for the Sixers team he makes them better.

All of you people are wrong.

The Dunkin' Dutchman in the paint had game, was consistent, and showed up for the playoffs.

Explain why? You're crazy if you think Smits didn't have game.
The "Hell nah

" even furthers my point that he was underrated.

Rik Smits?

Eddie House?

Someone please inform me...what is wrong with Rik Smits?!

People acting like they've never heard of him but his numbers were solid. He was consistent and even a 1 time All-Star. His mid-range game was top notchfor a center, he could pass, and could rebound. He even had a nice hook shot. I was a huge fan of him growing up.

Of course you were a fan of Smits.

You're an Pacers fan, aren't you?

Dude was a slightly more talented Muresan/Bradley. O.K., maybe better than 'slightly more talented'. He was an improved version of Muresan/Bradley.

Dude was tall.

And had a very shaky hook shot. His mid-range jumper was more solid than his little faux-hook.

He could pass, yes.

There's a reason why the All Decade thread we had consistently contained arguments for Shaq, Ben Wallace, and Amare at the 5, but no one mentioned Smits. It's not because he's underrated. He's rated exactly where he belongs; a decent center that had a decent career.

Decent.

At best.

Andre Miller should be ranked higher, but there have been an abundance of elite guards coming through the league in the last few years. THAT'S'underrated'.

i hated rick smits for a long time because he hit that bogus game 6 winner against the magic. ...but to put him in the same category as muresan/bradley is amistake. those dudes were circus acts, smits was a contributor to a playoff team.

dude was the mobile-st of big men, especially at 7'4.... but i dunno about him being that underrated

in the late 80s and 90s, this man deserves a mention, especially for his Bulls & Knicks days.......... one of the NBA's toughest players ever, basically he's the exact opposite of Eddy Curry............. averaged 10 ppg & 10 rpg as a rookie and 20 ppg & 15 rpg his 2nd year. My vote goesto.................

^ That's... that's not a bad nomination, either. Oak was tough as nails.

Raptors, Cheaaa!

No, I know you're a Toronto Chea fan. My comment/question was intended for MisterP, who I thoughtI was responding to. I didn't even see that you responded after MisterP until right now. Apparently, I wasmaking my response to him, you responded, and then I added my reply, so it looked like I was responding to you.

Man, in 10 years, David West will be taht guy that everybody looked past as an extremely good player.
