I'd drop like 8 if someone like Kyle Korver was guarding me.

No you wouldn't.

Kyle Korver would swat your $*#% 5 rows into the stands.

I knew NTers would be talking reckless in this thread.

First of all, no one is getting to the free throw line. None of us have any chance of getting to the hoop, and if we did, they would block us every time, not foul us.

Consider the skill level of the guys who don't make the NBA, but still played d1 or even d2. Those guys are very good and better than all of us, yet they didn't "make it." I think you guys are really underestimating NBA talent. You think you could score on a "bum" like Adam Morrison?
Preach.

This is getting lame, you guys are getting wayyyy too realistic when we got unrealistic rules to the game.

We are PLAYING 48 minutes according to OP, how many on here can do that? NONE.

So if none of us are going to score in 48 minutes of play even if we got some of the worst defenders in the league on us out there why we even playing? We're not going to guard anyone at the next level that's for damn sure.

You guys are acting like ball movement and proper spacing doesn't create open shots all the time at ANY level, whether the shots are made that's up to you.

The best-case scenario is that you have a fearsome superstar on your team (or even better, multiple)... and your man doubles that superstar all the time and the defensive help rotation is terrible, thus leading to a few WIDE OPEN shots for you. So you might hit 1... or MAYBE 2 shots if you're really lucky. After that, there's no way you're being left that wide open again. So for the huge huge majority of us, there is no way any answer above 4 is really gonna happen.

(This of course is side-stepping the reality that if any of actually played on an NBA squad, there's really no way a teammate would pass us the ball to even get a shot up... and if you did, your coach would probably be yelling at you saying "what the hell are you doing?!". But since this is a hypothetical, I guess we'll sidestep those realities.)

Depends how hot I am. Of course they're gonna double someone else, can I knock down the open shots?

Look at all the open looks Mike Penberthy knocked down. Now he has a higher pedigree but I'm just saying, if I am hot that game I could drop 10+.

The worst defender in the league would shut me out. I'm 5'11" 195 and have no chance of lasting the 48 minutes. The only possibility of me scoring is the defense not taking me seriously and I hit a semi-open 3 pointer.

But if Dwayne or Iggy was guardin' me, probably 1 or 2. All at the free throw line

you say 6 foot, 180 like that's big or something
Don't let the hair fool you, Korver is 6-7, 212. Plus you'd be chasing him around screens all game, anyway.

I really feel as if this thread is created to compare the talent level between NBA players and your occasional recreational talented player.. Now, I do believe though we all watch NBA Basketball and we know how hard these dudes train day in and day out. But, how are ya'll really going to shut down everyone's opinion bringing out the difficulties of scoring when I believe most of us know this already...Who knows, in a game setting where proper screens are placed, backdoors, free throws, Ankle breakers

that someone could be able to pull off a few buckets.. It's realistic.. But if you talking about dropping 20+ then evidence must be provided either visual or statistical lol.. Even 20 in a college setting or international is difficult as well..

And yes the poor defenders by NBA terms could still possibly shut down a player off the street if he truly wanted. I aint gonna knock anybody who says they puttin up a few buckets in though ha.. I've seen NBA players unable to hold their own defensively off the NBA court.. Just saying.. Meh..
Im dropping 50

at some of you thinking you gonna hit 6 points on Steve Nash. I respect the confidence and optimism, but you really think an NBA level athlete is gonna let you see the light of day? If anything, there probablly gonna D you up with more caution, cause no NBA player wants to be known as the guy who let a street dude score on him.

ZERO. I'm a decent player, I can shoot the three, drive, fadeaway, midrange shots. BUT MAN. it's the NBA
everyone in the league including the benchwarmers and injury reserves can do what I do with their eyes
closed.

Zero points, zero blocks, zero rebounds, 3 assist against a bottom tier NBA team.

10..........easy.........if not 15, and 6 dimes, 0 rebounds.
I really could easily see myself scoring 12 because Id get fouled lets say twice. Id make 3 free throws, shoot a few open jumpers from mid distance, lets say I make 2 out of 5, and shoot 4 three's and make 1 or 2. All this while playing 35 minutes.
And there's no way in hell any one of us would be able to stay vertical for 48 minutes.

This.  I probably wouldn't even get a shot off, let alone a good uncontested look.  Against D3 comp I was putting up 2-6 IN SCRIMMAGES and that was all off screens and curls. Realistically if i can get 15 shots, maybe 1-3 drop?

Did you play d1?? U realize how deep an NBA three is????????

I played for one of the best NAIA's in the country, and if I played 48 mins I think I would score close to 6-12 points.

If I played for a team like the Heat and I was on the floor with Lebron, Wade, Bosh, and Mike Miller, I could make some of the shots James Jones/Eddie House/Mike Bibby were getting.
