Denver Nuggets (10-4) 2023-24 Season Thread: 11/22 @ Magic

You forgot Foye. For the right price I want Brewer back. But it' not looking good same with Mozgov.

Brewer/Faried/Hickson. That's a lot of hustle/energy guys... How many teams could have 3?

Lawson/Miller/Green
Fournier/ Foye
Chandler/Hamilton/Quincy
Faried/Arthur
McGee/Hickson/Lauvergne

Lawson
Chandler
Gallo
Faried
Mcgee

Minnesota discussed sign-and-trade possibilities with Denver on Brewer, but the Nuggets aren't interested in bringing back the guards – Luke Ridnour or J.J. Barea – that the T'wolves would've parted with to pay Brewer an annual salary in the $5 million range, sources said. The Nuggets had shown a strong interest in re-signing Brewer, but have been unwilling to go so high on an offer to him, sources said.
Brewer is engaged in talks with several teams around the league, but is doubtful to return to Denver now, sources said.

Iggy (31%),Brewer(29%) and Basic game(26) had the lowest 3 pt % on the team

Chandler who was the best at shooting the 3 @ 41% will be getting starter mins and more touches

The teams 2nd and 3rd best shooters were stuck to the bench last season

Fournier, selected 20th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft, averaged 5.3 points and 1.2 assists in 38 games as a rookie last season. He started the final three games of the regular season, averaging 15.3 points and 3.0 assists on .529 shooting (18-of-34).

Hamilton, the 26th overall pick of the 2011 draft, averaged 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in his second NBA season. He made 13-of-26 3-pointers in 40 games last season.

Throw in Green...there is no way the team will not improve shooting wise

Perimeter defense is the main issue...but I have faith in Fournier/Hamilton and Chandler to step it up.

The Nuggets are getting "increasingly close" to an agreement with restricted free agent big man Timofey Mozgov, according to GM Tim Connelly (link via Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post).

Nuggets hire Rockets' Arturas Karnisovas as assistant GM

The purge of Houston Rockets' front-office executives continued with director of player personnel Arturas Karnisovas accepting the assistant general manager job with the Denver Nuggets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Karnisovas, 42, will join new general manager Tim Connelly in the Nuggets' front office.
The Philadelphia 76ers hired away Rockets executive vice president Sam Hinkie in May to become the franchise's GM.
After joining the Rockets as an international scout in 2008, Karnisovas had been promoted through the organization and most recently held the title of director of scouting.
As a player, Karnisovas had a decorated basketball career. After starring under P.J. Carlesimo at Seton Hall, Karnisovas won two Olympic bronze medals (1992 and '96) for Lithuania and was selected as FIBA's European Player of the Year in 1996. He reached the Euroleague Final Four three times.

Real pumped about the Nate signing. :pimp:

So, the roster stands at 13 with Andre Miller & without Mozgov, Quincy & Green.

#NYNuggets :smokin

The teams offense was already improved before Nate and he brings hustle/heart

Supposedly Spurs and Kings are interested in Mozgov. (He's a back up plan in case the Spurs don't get Oden) S&T with Gary Neal maybe?

Unless Mozgov/Miller are packaged together for something good. They need to keep Mozgov.

:smh: @ the thought of another trade to a Western conference team...especially the Spurs

Andre Miller switches up the tempo of the game and i enjoyed his accurate oops most of the time, but i hated seeing him mess things up in the playoffs so i'm at a bit of a crossroads.

I hope Connelly is just saying this, and is actually shopping Miller. He has never really seemed like he wanted to be part of the Nuggets since his return, and that was even with GK catering towards him--I can't imagine how unhappy he'll be coming off the bench with even less minutes.
