As an outsider looking in, how come you guys want Karl fired? Getting the third seed is a huge accomplishment.

We don't want him fired just because of this year but because of his track record. He rarely makes in game adjustments, he continues to give heavy minutes to guys that play like bums while guys that can help ride the pine. GK is a terrible playoff coach and we get sick of watching guys give it their all only to get sabotaged by a guy that can't draw up an inbounds play or who keeps sending out guys like Koufus when you have a pretty solid rebounder and defender in Mozgov that can't get any burn.

Clippers hiring GK would be amazing. He's better than Vinny...not saying much but still And lets not forget he's the reigning coach of the year. Can't go wrong.


I saw a tweet about him and Clippers last week now with Memphis in the mix... win/win

Karl reportedly refused to start McGee and management also blamed him for losing the series against the Warriors. Additionally, management blamed Karl for playing Andre Miller too much and not properly developing Evan Fournier.

Pretty much a given to anyone who pays attention. That in addition to the contract situation = perfect storm


We know McGee is unpredictable but he needs real minutes and a coach who's willing to give him a shot...look at JR. I still believe Karl hindered Melo's growth too.

Mozgov,Hamilton,Evans all could have contributed more given the minutes Stone too even though he was hurt but he's still wouldn't have seen the floor.

I'd like to think I helped you all with today's events. My internet campaign about how overrated Karl is knows no bounds. I've exchanged emails with radio hosts, spoke out on Twitter with varioous folks, good ol NT in here, yeah, I feel like my work is done. You're welcome.




Congrats tho, seriously. I know he's a good guy and all that, but his ceiling is low. Get a young guy, someone that wants to make a name for themself and teach the team the right way come April/May and ultimately June. Good luck in your search.

Nuggets May Promote Hunt To Head Coach

The Nuggets will seriously consider promoting assistant Melvin Hunt to head coach, according to John Mitchell of the Philadelphia Inquirer (on Twitter). Hunt is also being considered for the Sixers' coaching vacancy.

We learned last week that Hunt is in the mix for Philadelphia along with David Fizdale, Kelvin Sampson, Chris Finch, and Maurice Cheeks, who is the frontrunner in Detroit. The Denver assistant has had some head coaching attention in the past as he was linked to the Cavs job back in April. He may not have to go house shopping in the Philly area, however, if the Nuggets decide to make him the successor to George Karl.

Part of me wants Hollins if he can keep the same or similar type offense but add toughness and defense.

I heard Lionel wanted to run more in Memphis but because of personnel he couldn't. I wouldn't mind him or Hunt. Don't think Shaw is a good fit for us.

Nuggets are young but the rebuild phase is over they just need a tough defensive minded leader.

Bad memories, man. Nuggets had a legit shot at going the distance that season... and AD was absolutely useless.

And he was probably seeking more money than they wanted to pay especially after winning COY.



Wonder how this affects Iggy's decision. If Miller wasn't happy during the season I'm sure he's livid about next season possibilities

Pete D'Alessandro, Nuggets GM top candidate, goes to Kings

In a surprise twist, Nuggets assistant general manager Pete D'Alessandro, considered a top candidate for the Denver GM job, instead has agreed to take the GM job with the Sacramento Kings. Nuggets president Josh Kroenke confirmed the report tweeted by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

The Kings, under new ownership, have a revitalized spirit and are have been looking to lock in budding talent such as D'Alessandro and coach Mike Malone.

It's unclear what direction the Nuggets will go now. One name floated out is Tony Di Leo, a former Philadelphia executive.

Previously asked about D'Alessandro, friend and former Golden State exec Chris Mullin said: "He's the ideal guy. He's got the experience now and he's the whole package. He's like one of the players that you don't see coming, like (the Pacers') Paul George, a star in the making. He knows his strengths, he empowers people around him. I loved working with him."

The Nuggets were stunned when Ujiri left his job last week to become the Toronto Raptors' general manager, and now the front-office executives, primarily team president Josh Kroenke, are regrouping. Meanwhile, the Nuggets' scouting department continues to work in preparation for the NBA draft June 27.

The scouting department includes director of player personnel Mike Bratz, scout Herb Livsey and scouting coordinator Dan Tolzman. The Nuggets have one pick, 27th overall, in the draft.

As for D'Alessandro, he is respected in NBA circles for his creative statistics analysis and for his grasp of the salary cap. Ujiri always spoke glowingly about D'Alessandro, who was promoted in November to his VP position.

He just finished his third season with the Nuggets, working closely with Kroenke and Ujiri. From 2004-08, D'Alessandro worked in the Warriors' front office, where he began as the director of basketball operations and was promoted to assistant general manager in 2006.

He got his start in the game at St. John's, where he worked as a video coordinator for legendary coach Lou Carnesecca. He proceeded to get his law degree and work briefly in politics and also at a sports agency, before being hired in 2004 by Golden State.

The Denver Nuggets have hired New Orleans executive Tim Connelly as the franchise’s executive vice president of basketball operations, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Connelly, 36, has been considered one of the league’s rising star young executives and will move immediately into the Nuggets search for a coach and preparation for the NBA draft and free agency.

He will replace the NBA’s executive of the year, Masai Ujiri, who left for the Toronto Raptors.

Nuggets CEO Josh Kroenke plans to work closely with Connelly in reshaping the Nuggets front office and building upon a 57-victory team that earned the third seed in the Western Conference.

Connelly is part of a younger generation of league executives moving into top management positions around the league, and has been compared favorably to Orlando’s Rob Hennigan and Phoenix’s Ryan McDonough as part of the league’s next crop of bright young minds.
