Denver Nuggets (10-4) 2023-24 Season Thread: 11/22 @ Magic

I read that Andre was mad that he didn't get to play the other day and that, if I recall correctly, led to his suspension. Which caught me by surprise as well. This is sad though, the Nuggets are the definition of a middle of the pack team, not good enough to seriously contend anymore, but not bad enough to get a lottery pick. We'll probably go on a run to balance out this losing streak soon.

Something's gotta give :smh:

And I honestly feel like Ty could do exactly what Steph is doing right now if he tried. He needs to step up and be more of a leader on this team instead of deferring.

Sorry rant over

Wish they would've lost tonight. Denver radio says that Dre's suspension was rescinded. He will still be suspended but won't lose any money.

No he can't  It's just not in his personality. He is who he's going to be.

Lawson needs to be traded imo.

 I feel you. When I said that, I meant he could be a 20-10 player, if he were allowed. I know he isn't the type to go out and Chuck up 20 shots a game, but I do believe he is capable of such. We got a glimpse of it in the playoffs the past two years.

I would be more sad if Ty got traded then I was when Melo left. But if iy upgraded the team and he went to a good team, I would get over it quickly. Him on the Pacers would be crazy. Defintely make them a contender.

Nuggets’ Danilo Gallinari (knee) out for season after second surgery

The Nuggets announced Tuesday that forward Danilo Gallinari will miss the rest of the 2013-14 season after undergoing surgery on his left knee for the second time in nine months.

Gallinari initially injured his knee during an April 4, 2013, game against the Mavericks, and early reports indicated that he had torn his ACL. The Italian forward underwent surgery on April 30 to repair meniscus damage in the knee, but that procedure did not address the ACL.

This week’s surgery, an ACL reconstruction, will keep Gallinari out for the balance of the season. He had not yet returned to the court following the first procedure.

“It was recently determined that the procedure that Danilo underwent on his knee this past summer was insufficient,” Nuggets GM Tim Connelly said in a statement. “Danilo’s knee required that he undergo reconstruction of the ACL, which was successfully completed earlier this morning. Knowing Danilo’s drive and work ethic, we look forward to a full recovery and a healthy return to the court next season.”

 @ how poorly this was handled. Wonder if it was just ineptitude or an insurance thing...probably both

Almost there, still get frustrated though.  That Foye 3

I feel you exec. I know this team isn't going anywhere right now and I wish they would just tank the rest of the season to get into the lottery.

I wasn't even thinking about tanking...but that NYK pick has been on my mind. Along with nice trade too.

Watching these Nuggets has left me cold, for the most part. Even if it's a game where they're playing well, I still have trouble getting into it because I know another stretch of poor Ls is waiting around the corner.

Just don't really enjoy watching this team.

It continues...

Nate Robinson done for the season after ACL surgery:

Nate Robinson is out for the remainder of the season after having ACL surgery, the Nuggets announced Friday.
“It's always tough to see one of your players go down with an injury,” general manager Tim Connelly said. “Nate is known for his heart and determination, so I have no doubt he will work hard to get back on the court as soon as possible. He has the full support of our team and organization.”

Robinson injured the knee Jan. 29 against the Bobcats.

The team is currently 22-22 and battling to stay in playoff position, and Robinson has been a siginificant sparkplug off their bench.

Robinson, signed by Denver as a free agent on July 26, 2013, averaged 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in 44 games with the Nuggets this season.

Faried starting on Melo is laughable. Team defense as a whole just seems worse than in previous years.

The team doesn't have an identity which makes consistency impossible. Shaw is trying to use a system that doesn't fit his roster. Major changes need to happen in the roster to right this ship. Too many undersized guards, too many bigs that do the same things, etc.
