Denver Nuggets (10-4) 2023-24 Season Thread: 11/22 @ Magic

Yeah youre right. He will not come off bench. I think gallo would be a nice spark off the bench but I think it will be wilson chandler. Not bsd though. Nate as back up point. Chandler to back up two and 3 and jj hicksond as our back up big. Not bad at all. Lets see if players buy into coach shaw a lil more. Hated our slow pace last year but hey our upfront game never worked in the playoffs.

Nate/Hickson are still hurt (Hickson is shooting around not sure where Nate is at)

I haven't seen any reports/info about Gallo or Mcgee actually back playing yet. (Javale posted a video of him jogging with resistance bands on some soft padded treadmill looking thing 2 weeks ago).

Training camp starts in about a month and a half...

Lawson/Green
Affalo/Foye/Harris
Chandler/Miller
Faried/Arthur
Mozgov/Nurkic

Lack of news is not good news imo...same with McGee. Safe to say none of the injured guys will be 100% for training camp.

Hopefully they get healthy soon. They are key to a better season. Especially Gallo for his shooting.

Getting Gallo back is key. I still don't think this team has an identity. Are we a half court team? Are we a fast break team? Shaw needs to figure out quickly.

The fact that Fournier, Hamilton and even Stone are gone and Miller is still around playing like garbage. :smh:

21 TOs

I like Nurkic he needs a big man coach ASAP though. (All the bigs do really  ) Crazy to think he came to the US for the first time in June.

JaVale McGee 'furthest' away from return among injured Nuggets

DENVER -- Denver Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said Wednesday that while he expects all four of the "missing Nuggets" who are all recovering from major leg injuries to miss Wednesday night's preseason tilt vs. the Thunder, that three of the four players should be back by the start of the regular season.

But of the four, Shaw said that center JaVale McGee is "probably the furthest away" from being back. McGee suffered a stress fracture in his left tibia last November, and missed all but five games last season after an initial prognosis expected him to return in the spring.

Meanwhile, Danilo Gallinari, Nate Robinson, and J.J. Hickson, all of whom are recovering from ACL tears, are expected to be ready for opening night. (Hickson will not be available for five games due to a suspension for violation of the NBA's anti-drug policy.) Gallo missed the entire 2014 season after a botched procedure to repair his knee, requiring a second surgery on his torn ACL. Robinson and Hickson went down in the spring for a Nuggets team that never got to see what they were capable of.

Also of note, Shaw said that rookie Gary Harris is already the Nuggets' best perimeter defender. "He just has a knack, those instincts on the defensive side of the ball," Shaw said.

I'm not he was working out on some treadmill type thing with a really thick pad a few months ago
