Denver Nuggets (10-4) 2023-24 Season Thread: 11/22 @ Magic

True enough... I just have K-Mart's second half of the regular season last year ingrained in my mind (for what reason, I don't know) when speaking of him. Forgot he hadn't played a full season in Denver since... ever. (Literally)

Plus, now thinking about it, from what I saw of his games in China, he looked to have lost his bounce.

I understand exactly what you you mean. The team is missing a tough guy that will do the dirty work.

Nuggets are going to make Knicks fans go crazy tomorrow. Must-see tv right there. Lawson

Harrington has been playing out of his damn mind this year. Reversion to the mean should occur some time soon. But the beauty of this team is that it won't matter. Someone else will step up.

He's collecting DNPs every game.

@ the Kmart disrespect in here.
Meh, him trashing management when he wasn't offered an extension & the trash he's talked about the franchise since the end of last season doesn't make me feel the need to be "loyal" to him.

Nene felt the same way but since he's soft/quiet he didn't voice his opinion. (And yes Kmart went about it totally wrong)

As long as Chandler stay's I'll be satisfied.  If I'mUjiri I'd be shopping Affalo to any Eastern Conference team

If this team could get Chandler back, look out.

That was a crazy game! Sheesh, what a performance by Gallinari. I thought he'd disappear with it being somewhat of a "big" game.

Incredible win!
Nuggets coach George Karl: Right now, team development trumps playing rookies
By Christopher Dempsey

The finicky thing about youth is its reluctance to just go away after one season. It holds on.

Nuggets coach George Karl looks at his team and sees a good number of his players still in basketball elementary school. Some of those players – Ty Lawson, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, among them – play significant roles in the Nuggets’ success. They are not rookies, yet remain far from seasoned veterans. They continue to need development.

It is part of the reason he rolls his eyes at the growing insistence of many to play rookie Kenneth Faried, chiefly, among other rookies or young players, whose playing time has been either limited or inconsistent or both. His team is second in the Western Conference, winning big and overall running smoothly in this early portion of the season.

And he’s got players to continue to mold.

Faried has played in just two games this season, a total of 19 minutes of action. Fans clamor to see more of him, the player nicknamed “Manimal,â€

Nuggets, Gallinari close to 4-year extension

The Denver Post
The Nuggets are close to signing Danilo Gallinari to a long-term contract, a league source confirmed this morning.

The contract would be for four years, around $40 million total, the source told The Denver Post, locking in the player they call Gallo as he ascends for the powder blue — coach George Karl has previously said he thinks the Italian small forward can be an all-star someday.

Including a 37-point game at Madison Square Garden this season, Gallo averages 17.4 points per game, a career-high, and 5.2 rebounds, as well.

The Nuggets play at Sacramento tonight. Gallinari, born 8/8/88, is 23 years old.

I couldn't be any happier.

With how quiet things had been, I was doubting whether or not the Nuggets were going to extend him. I think Saturday's game probably made up Masai's mind, if he had been wavering.
