Denver Nuggets (10-4) 2023-24 Season Thread: 11/22 @ Magic

Hudson had a few huge games for the Cavs last year, but meh, I don't really see where he'd fit in if the Nuggets were to clear a roster spot for him. I'd rather keep Stone on than have Hudson.

And agreed on Melo's return not feeling like anything special, being 2+ years after the trade, the Knicks not having any success, and the future of the Nuggets looking positive.

Just found this thread. Been a Nuggets fan since 94. Looking forward to next season! Roster full of talent with and hopefully without any egos getting in the way they can get past the 1st round.

Welcome :nthat:

IMO Lawson/Gallo need a little ego if they wanna see the second round.

Gallo definitely needs to change his mentality. Disappears way too much. Need to see more of what he did in NY last season on a consistent basis.

Lawson's performance in the Playoffs was encouraging, but I feel as long as Dre is on the squad, he'll always be deferring. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Galo was pretty upset with his game 7 performance. Hopefully he will avoid the injury bug this year. Not much has been said about the Anthony Randolph signing but I think the guy actually has some game and will contribute.

Lakers, Magic in blockbuster four-team trade talks to send Dwight Howard to L.A.

The Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers are engaged with the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers in a four-way blockbuster that could ultimately deliver superstar center Dwight Howard to the Lakers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Dwight Howard will become a free agent at the end of this season. (AP)
A deal is not considered imminent, but the talks have grown serious over the course of this week, sources said.
There are multiple moving parts in the fluid talks, but the framework of a possible deal includes Howard and Denver forward Al Harrington going to the Lakers, Philadelphia guard Andre Iguodala going to the Nuggets, Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum moving to the 76ers, and Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol and Denver guard Arron Affalo going to the Magic, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Magic would have a better chance of moving Gasol in another deal to get further assets, sources said, and eliminate the risk of Bynum leaving them as a free agent in 2013. Nevertheless, there was still a sense that Gasol's and Bynum's destinations could be fluid in the talks. Either way, one would go to Orlando and the other to Philadelphia, sources said.
The proposed deal includes the Magic also gaining draft picks and salary-cap relief, sources said.

Mozgov :nthat:

It's looking serious :smh:

Afflalo, Vucevic, Harrington, Mo Harkless.. 3 1st Round Picks (1 from each team) to Orlando

Bynum & Jason Richardson to Philly

Lakers get Dwight

Nuggets get Iggy

Marc Stein confirms deal WILL NOT involve Pau

Bright side...

Team gets better defensively and bigger/more athletic
Iggy has one year left after this season (player option)
Opens up another roster spot?

I guess Q will be on the roster.

Still not feeling great about this deal; hopefully I'm wrong and it works out well.

My main issue is helping LA. Iggy is an upgrade over AAA and...

RT @KBergCBS Iguodala fits into DEN trade exception acquired in Nene deal, and Nuggets still shed $43 million in future guaranteed salary.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Correction: Nuggets send out $14.25M in salary for Iguodala's $14.9M. So Denver preserves its $13M trade exception.

I like the deal for the Nuggets since Iggy and Gallo can definitely co-exist for long stretches on the floor. Not sure about Chandler.

I trust Ujiri and Afflalo and Harrington are very expendable players. They are not helping the Nuggets get to the 2nd round and beyond.

Lawson-Iggy-Gallo-Faried-McGee is one hell of an line-up.

I just don't understand what Orlando is doing and if anyone does out there, let me know. :smh:

I think Iggy is the better overall player, but I think Al's & mainly AAA's range will be missed. Nobody on the team can really shoot a jumpshot right now, and there's nobody to toss it to on the block. Depending solely on transition offense, especially for a team that historically doesn't play tough defense, could be a scary game to play.

And I know Iguodala's had good assists numbers over his career, but I think those will drop with the amount Ty & Dre handle the ball.

Out of Hamilton/Brewer/Chandler someone can find the range. The defense and rebounding should be better. Mozgov should come back with more confidence with the way he's been playing in London. Faried with a full training camp/preseason. Mgcee working with The Dream.

If they can leap LAC and MEM I'd be happy.

Never been in this thread, been a fan since Camby was there. Really got into it when Melo joined. Anyway, I think Iggy is a great addition. But Afflalo and Harrington will definitely be missed. That range was key. I'm really curious to see how well Chandler fits in this year, wish he could have played last year in the playoffs but theres always this year. Should be a good year :pimp:

Iggy a Nugget??

Starting to warm-up to the trade, but I still don't feel it makes the Nuggets a whole lot better than they were before, if at all.

Obviously with Harrington out, time is opened up for Randolph as the only other PF on the roster other than Faried. He's going to have to perform well this year.
