How do you store your sneakers?

I doubled up on my first pairs of Jordan's that I bought for retail and I want to know how to elongate their lifespan.
I've heard of saran wrapping but then there will be no moisture to keep the soles intact and in return, it will dry out the soles. Unless of course the mid sole is made of polyurethane, will it still matter?

I've also seen people putting both pairs or each pair with icy soles in a plastic ziplock bags and put at least 4 silica gel packets so the soles do not yellow.

Right now I have my Black Cement's in one large ziplock bag and is sitting in its box and left in the closet.

Are there any alternatives to prolonging the lifespan of your shoes?

They're shoes, they're going to age regardless. For pairs with icy soles, I just throw 1 silica packet in the box with them. I never understood ziplocking them due to the fact that the material has to breathe so you'll have to leave the bag open. I usually just wipe em down and put em in the box.

All I do is keep mine in a cool, dark place in the box. I don't think saran wrap is really the best thing for the shoes cuz it might just dry 'em out, but I'm not an expert on storage really. End of the day though, even though you're storing for now, make sure you rock 'em eventually unless you're gonna just have them around as a trophy/decoration. Cuz eventually, no matter how you store them, if you wait too long, they're just gonna crumble.

i fold the paper down to the bottom of the box and just keep the shoes in the box on top of the paper(you can take it out but i leave it) and store them in a room temp place that is not too dry or too damp. i havent had any problems in 10 years

I store mine in the closet and just take the paper out of the box.

In the box, with paper at the bottom, then in closets. I try to keep the lights out as much as possible at my house and have thick curtains and blinds to keep light out.

I understand how releases prior to 04' will disintegrate if left in a sealed plastic bag, but how will midsoles made of polyurethane break down? What else will be affected if you leave your soles in saran wrap or ziplock bags?

I know that over time 2 3 4 5 6 and a couple others can crack so I just keep them in the box. I'm starting to store my 11s in bags since there nothing that could happen to them

cool, dark and dry (60-70 degrees, no sunlight, less humidity).  but like some on here are saying: nothing lasts forever (except for herpes, that #@*% will come back with you...)

I stote them in the original box with one
Silica stripe inside and removed the paper.
Store them without direct light and
Make sure that humidity does not make
The midsoles crumbling.

nah man. Just threw them away. I realized I don't need them. They take up too much space anyway.

oh damn. what size do you wear? please don't say 9.5 or 10.
feel free to send me your 2011 concord boxes. i'm sure i can put them to good use. along w/ yotr boxes if you stumble upon any in the future.

oh nice collection! From what I see, I think those are the doernbecher 3's. I almost forgot about storing them into plastic bins. I've seen that in youtube. Are the bins about the same size as the original boxes? I may just replace the og box with the plastic containers.

That sounds depressing. Find a closet, use some damprid. That's only when they are not on my FEET.

I still regret throwing all my boxes away from 01 to 05.

ive only doubled up on 1 pair of shoes and their my fav so i plan on wearing them years later

I know there's science to it. Heat will accelerate the disintegration process but won't really happen for decades, but still accelerating it... If kept in a cool dark place, there will be no way for the sun to penetrate the material and there will be minimal chances of sole separation. Also there will be minimal yellowing on the shoes. The reason why shoes displayed on window panels are yellow on one side than on the other because of the heat and sun aging the rubber soles.

i've heard the paper found in older releases had more acidity which caused discoloration. i believe the paper and tissue they currently use is much safer now.

I put the paper on the bottom as well. The paper may be less acidic, but it is still acidic nevertheless.

I have one of my pairs in a large plastic ziplock bag zipped half way through and the paper folded on the bottom.
