Mistake to underestimate McIlroy. He's getting stronger post-Caro. You take Rickie, such an athletic swing. Teases you but can't finish. Adam Scott, perfect swing. Until Stevie on the bag, folded under pressure. Rory's game is so natural, smooth.

And this is coming from a Jason Day supporter, I could care less about Rory. I even root for Fowler, Choi, Fernandez-Castano, Yang, etc. more than McIlroy.

Rory hit a drive this past weekend on I think hole 7, a long par 4, he was teamed with Serigio, once Sergio reached his ball, Rory took about another 200 steps, and then he was at his ball.
I'm aware, Rory is NICE. He left his fiancé before the last Major, and then ran off a 10+ stroke lead to close, he's money, but.....

I believe only Rory bombs it by Sergio that far because of Serg's driver setup. They here hitting all the other clubs similar distances

I dunno man Rory was like 30-50 yds longer than Serg off the tee with that stick. Not sure you can attribute that to his setup... Its hard to find a driver longer than these SLDR's.
Sergio attacks his irons and fairways differently than anyone else... He hits those clubs long because hes delofting them at impact. He routinely takes divots off the tee with 3 and 5 wood... No one else really hits the ball that way.

Too be honest I don't know Rory's shaft length
-Sergio plays a 43.5 inch driver. With a much heavier shaft than Rory. And he grip down on it a tad
-Him and Rory didn't hit driver off one of the same tee and Sergo was only a few yards behind Rory.
-Rory is longer than Sergio with a driver as much as the weekend would lead out beleive. You got Rory trying to bomb every drive, but Serg putting accuracy over everything.
-Sergio takes a divot with his woods on purpose too, he punches them a lot for accuracy. He can hit them clean when he wants too. But take a divot with his woods had become his default. Only when I see him attack a par 5 with a 3 wood do I see him pick it clean.

Yea that's what I'm saying though, swinging that way, taking the divot and attacking the ball that way is taking degree's off the loft of the club. I'd think his 4 Iron would be as long as most guys 3's using that logic.
Rory said today he's shortened his back swing too. And has put on 6 lbs of muscle in the last 2 months.

In 2008 he dropped his 3-iron for some tourneys and still does from time to time because he says that when he is swinging good and catch his 4-iron right he can put it out there 240-250 :x. He hit it that shot a couple tourneys that and Peter Kostis was flipping his **** mirin.
But what I'm saying is that he didn't always used to do that. He used to catch his woods much cleaner, and he had his own version of the "tiger Stinger" he kinda merged them now. He takes a divot because he it lower the trajectory for control on purpose.

He hasn't done it recently. But he is used to hit his driver off the deck often a couple years ago. He would pick the ball clean off.
Sergio hits all kinds of variants of the same shot in a single round.
-But the diver thing is another issue. It Rory and Serg were gaming the exact same setup, he is not putting it 50 past Serg.

I **** wit Rory though. Sergio was arguably the best player in the world at the end of 2008 but when his girl dumped him he had a damn mental breakdown
