In the next 10-20 years the only Black men that will be at positions of power will also be homosexual?

Huh.

Not shots at DC but I tried to give this an honest view and listened to it in the background
But for a child sociologist, he really doesn't understand ANYTHING about homosexuality.

I'm not gay, nor have I ever had any homosexual inclination in my public OR private life...

but he sounds like an utter bigoted homophobe.

People are blaming gays for EVERYTHING now. Things are changing and new paradigms are needed to address problems in the "black community"

BTW, don't call him the "new malcolm" since it came out recently that Malcolm used to do some homosexual things before he was who we know him to be now.

Its LIFE.

Its time you all start growing up with respect to homosexuality.

Gays and Lesbians have ALWAYS existed. Sexuality and gender identification are NOT black and white. There IS a grey scale of sexuality.

This guy sounds like a fool. Homosexuality is now a means of population control? Yeah i'm sure thats EXACTLY what it is.

He almost invalidates his credentials from the moment he opens his mouth. People need to stop thinking that having letters after your name makes people forget their own common sense.

Now on the topic of the effectiveness of our education, he has a point about being socialized about being overly patriotic and nationalistic...leading to being apart of our jingoistic foreign policy.

I think he has a point on the INeffectiveness of religion in the black community as well.

Hell I admit that planned parenthood is pretty controversial in the black community...

I think he has a point about psychotropic drug prescriptions in the population...but NOT JUST in black people, but ALL people in this country.

he might have a point about light-skinned supremacy in the black community and other socio-political power structures...

He has a point about black women taking their frustrations out on their kids...but its NOT just black women, its all single mothers

He has a point about the lack of economic stability in the "black community"

but...

But his ENTIRE stance on homosexuality is incredibly MYOPIC, UN-RESEARCHED, AND IGNORANT. Every word he says about ANYTHING gay is COMPLETELY off base.

and I'm trying to be really unbiased here... but he sounds like he would rather kill every gay he ever met.

It honestly takes away from every other thing he's saying which might have be a decent point.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a closet case...

I think he doth protest too much...

Bruh, i'm a black male.
Both my parents are from one of the most homophobic places on Earth: Jamaica.

Mom from Kingston. Dad from Hanover Parish

I'm darker than most of you think.

I know what you're saying.

I know my history and I know the importance of gaining perspective of culture...BEYOND what they tell you all here.

I know real rastas and I know that whole history.

I see how the US operates outside of this country.

I agreed with damn near 80% of what this guy talked about...

I try to grasp perspectives BEYOND that of black males in america who've never been outside this country.

If anyone is there who gets it, its me.

But on Homosexuality he is DEAD wrong...

Stop thinking I don't see what you're doing here.

I think its wrong ethically and socially and morally to NOT grant rights to law-abiding citizens in this country and around the world just for being gay.

He knows NOTHING about homosexuality. He's proved it. Through and through. On top of that, someone with the resources he has as a "professional" should not be so quick to leverage that sort of stance on an entire community he knows NOTHING about.

He neglects the findings of homosexuality in other species. He neglects findings in neuroscience. He neglects findings that suggest but nuture AND nature....

Its the mark of an intellectual to be able to entertain an idea without submitting to it.

His lack of impartiality to homosexuality really leaves me with a sour note on his academic integrity.

Now if we get him to talk about everything else...sure...lets do that. Because on every other subject he introduced a degree of plausible deniability in his statements. There was some leeway in his arguments... but for him to relate it ALL to homosexuality instead of power, money, and politics...is intellectually DISHONEST.

Silly, what do you think about this then

Hes talking about sociology and moving up on theperceivedladder of socioeconomic status.
Black women want to move up in the world so they might seek about "higher class" white men.

Black men might marry lower class white women for social status.

Rarely white woman will marry "low class" black males. There is a pattern that supports this statistic.

I think he has a point.

But hes not talking about homosexuality here so this is more of his OPINION than anything he thinks is supported with fact. He doesn't speak on this with as much conviction and purpose as he did on gays in the black community.

And hes a Garvey-ite? aw man...

...can of worms there.

But at the end of the day, I think hes ultimately wrong.

Him being againstinterracialdating, even while citing the social benefit of doing so, is a limited view IMO.

There is NOTHING INTRINSICALLY WRONG WITH INTERRACIAL DATING.

The problem comes in when people try to make it seem like people who date outside their race are ALWAYS self hating... No its not a blanket truth.

There are some who were scorned, yes. But thats because we have racist views in place to make them feel bad about their choice.

The problem with race neglects the biological understanding of us as a species as we've come to understand.

We're ALL the same for the most part.

He falls susceptible to the same walls of racism he was forced to accept. He is apart of the problem hes trying to address. He wants to end racism but supports keeping races segregated. He doesn't understand that "black" isn't a race. Its just a nebulous term that could mean anything. I'm more related to people from theCaribbeanthan most of you black americans here that came straight over from the continent. Its true. So why do I get lumped in with you all?

Everything we do is in the context of "them." We aren't "us."

By supporting the same barriers of preventing race mixing he is adding to the problem we were trying to address in the first place.

If you want to call him the new malcolm, call him the malcolm BEFORE he went to mecca. Call this the malcolm that the world hated until his mind came around.

If this is the new malcolm, he has a LONG way to go.

The problem is that people think everything that comes out of the mouth of certain people is the truth.

NO.

The statements proposed stand INDEPENDENT of their source.

People love to deify Einstein like everything he ever said was right.

If Einstein hated black people, you all would resent him and overlook his contributions to physics and math.

Nazi Germany made incredible contributions to Rocketry and Medicine...hell, without them we wouldn't have Nasa...and other things (operation paperclip

)

Having a point on 9 statements doesn't mean your next statement will be true, valid, or even real.

Credentials don't mean anything if you don't substantiate them.

If you can't see that there is a focused push for homosexuality in the black community, then you're not being critical or unbiased enough.

Some people are born gay, some people chose the lifestyle. Sexuality is fluid. Thats UNDENIABLE. You can't argue that.

But the recent explosion of homosexuality in the black community is not happenstance, nor did it happen gradually or naturally.

I don't condone discrimination or the denial of rights towards any group and I don't hear or see where Dr. Umar does either.

The problem is that we don't control the media that is disseminated to our people nor do we project our own public image on a large scale...those that seek to control us and keep us as a-political wage workers, mindless consumers, and incarcerated human commodities do.

Those oppressors have made a concerted effort in that last decade or so, to create an effeminate black male population and widen the chasm between black men and black women....they have been very effective.

Now you have thousands of self declared bi-sexual and homosexual children that are as confused about their sexuality as they are as else everything in their poverty ravaged life. Children are becoming more perverse at younger ages, mimicking the behaviors they see on "reality tv" and hear on Nicki Minaj songs.

How are homosexuals oppressed when they are the ones in the Congress dictating policy from on high, when they are the music execs and movie directors shaping the minds of the global audience, when they are the millionaires/billionaires behind corporate powerhouses and multinational conglomerates?.....the true oppressed peoples of the world pray for that type of oppression.

This ain't about denying homosexuals of their natural human rights or persecuting any group of individuals...this is about seeing things for what they are.....and black homosexuality is the new blaxploitation.

I mean when is it going to end. I mean we get it you heart gays. You are gay. Ive never heard a person with so much conviction about homosexuality and not be gay. I mean just about any and all threads that deal with social/economical/sex/race injustices, discriminations, and/or intolorances and differences you always throw in the element of homosexuality.  We could be talking about differences about woman in the workplace etc by race etc... and you'll just throw in something about lesbians.

I mean dude has like hours of footage and discussed a myriad of reasons/topics of issues dealing with the black race and you pretty muched dismissed and ignored all he had to say and made it a focal point to address his stance on homosexuality. Why of all the range of reasons and topics he discussed you picked homosexuality as the one to pinpoint. Sounds like it must be on some personal #%@.

I mean im all for equality for all and i can admit im more passionate about the black issues. But i dont make it a focal point or steer any case scenario that has to do with injustices etc about black ppl. Seems like thats what you do in respects with sexual orientation discrimination. I mean if you gay its cool. But what isnt cool is being gay, pretending your not gay, and making an issue about gay discrimination, or making everything about gay issues. I guess this would be equivalent to the black race card, the gay card if you will.

Now your true colors come out.
I'm not gay.

Next point.

To think I actually used to respect seeing you post. Now you're just showing how much of a bigot you are.

I'm not a woman but i'm wrong for wanting women to vote?

I'm not a native american but i'm wrong for wanting them to have equal rights?

I don't have cerebral palsy but i'm wrong for wanting to grant them disability advantages in government?

Get over yourself.

I'm convicted over homosexuality and that makes me gay?

I'm not white but I stick up for a white person and so that makes me white now?

What the hell is your problem?

THIS MAN SPOKE FOR 28 MINUTES AND ABOUT 60-70% OF THAT WAS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY. I'M NOT THE ONE WHO FOCUSED ON IT...HE WAS.

I SUGGEST YOU WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE YOU COME AT ME.

I said what I agreed with and said what I didn't agree with.
Thats more of an opinion than anything you offered on the entire subject.

I picked on homosexuality because out of the other myriad of things I agreed with him on, I completely disagreed with him on that.

Would you support barack if he wanted to kill all white people?

Human rights and civil rights are rights for ALL PEOPLE...I'm not going to sit up here and wave the glory flag of support and act like I can over look the one thing I disagree with him about.

I actually took the time to process DC's support for this guy and issued my criticism.

If theres a list of 100 things and I disagree with 2 of them, i'm going to make it be known. I'm sorry you lack the conviction to stand up for anything you don't agree with.

Hes blaming homosexuality for EVERYTHING.

Watch the videos. Tell me i'm lying.

I mean im all for equality for all and i can admit im more passionate about the black issues.

So freaking act like it.
But i dont make it a focal point or steer any case scenario that has to do with injustices etc about black ppl. Seems like thats what you do in respects with sexual orientation discrimination.

Umar Johnson made a video about the problems facing the black community.

In his videos he spoke on a myriad of topics with the CLEAR majority of it being focused on homosexuality.

MORE THAN HALF OF HIS SPEAKING TIME WAS ON GAYS.

on top of that you overlooked all of the things I said I DID agree with.
I mean if you gay its cool.
I'm not. But thanks for the red-herring.
But what isnt cool is being gay, pretending your not gay, and making an issue about gay discrimination, or

Again, i'm not gay.

making everything about gay issues.

Like Dr. Umar Johnson?
I guess this would be equivalent to the black race card, the gay card if you will.

Pathetic.

Because I don't cite homosexuality as the cause for world hunger then all of a sudden i'm a closet homosexual.

I LOVE that consistency in logic.

You don't hate gays... that means you secretly dream about penis!

First of all, being gay isn't a "black" thing. It exists in all communities.

Stop seeking special privileges and playing the victim card in this regard.

And there isn't a push to BE gay...its a push for equal rights under the law.

We have presidential candidates that want to push for gays to not be in the military, to not be given tax benefits in marriages, to not adopt kids, to not give blood, to not even hold office.

In some countries you can be JAILED or EXECUTED for being gay.

I don't think civil rights wanted to force everyone to be black or hispanic. Do you?

Some people are born gay, some people chose the lifestyle. Sexuality is fluid. Thats UNDENIABLE. You can't argue that.

So why are we arguing?
You know that there is a natural component to some of this stuff yet you choose to ignore it.

But the recent explosion of homosexuality in the black community is not happenstance, nor did it happen gradually or naturally.

Hiding the fact that someone is gay, like pastor eddie long, doesn't remove that fact.
There have ALWAYS been gay people.

It just used to not be accepted to be out.

The only reason it seems like there are more gay people is because you're not going to be executed for being gay.

Up until the 1950s in England you could be sent to jail for being gay. Look up Alan Turing.

I don't condone discrimination or the denial of rights towards any group and I don't hear or see where Dr. Umar does either.

I didn't say he was trying to limit the rights of gays.
I said he was a homophobe however.

I did not hear ONE instance where he even said that gays deserved equal rights.

Every word regarding homosexuality in his eyes was negative, scornful, and accusatory.

he placed the entire problems of the black community on homosexuality.

The problem is that we don't control the media that is disseminated to our people nor do we project our own public image on a large scale...

and thats gay people's fault?
Control your own damn image then.

I mean REALLY. Lets be honest here.

those that seek to control us and keep us as a-political wage workers, mindless consumers, and incarcerated human commodities do.

exactly my point
here does homosexuality come into this?

Those oppressors have made a concerted effort in that last decade or so, to create an effeminate black male population and widen the chasm between black men and black women....they have been very effective.

Again, where are gays to blame as Umar Johnson suggests?

Now you have thousands of self declared bi-sexual and homosexual children that are as confused about their sexuality as they are as else everything in their poverty ravaged life.
So poverty makes kids gay?
I'm pretty sure it used to not be cool to admit you didnt believe in god either, but now I know I can say that with impunity from the world.

Again. There have ALWAYS been gay people. Being out however is a different story.

Children are becoming more perverse at younger ages, mimicking the behaviors they see on "reality tv" and hear on Nicki Minaj songs.

And that makes them gay?
More sexualized? Yes

But how does that INNATELY make them more gay?

How are homosexuals oppressed when they are the ones in the Congress dictating policy from on high,

There are MAYBE like 4-5 openly gay homosexuals in congress. The rest of the closet cases vote against their interests in the first place so they're not supporting the gay agenda in the first place.
when they are the music execs and movie directors shaping the minds of the global audience,

And this makes people more gay?

Maybe we should go back to when people were scared of others who had HIV as human beings.

Pushing for tolerance doesn't make you gay.
when they are the millionaires/billionaires behind corporate powerhouses and multinational conglomerates?...

Tim Cook, the new CEO of Apple is gay.

I hope you don't think your iPhone will make you start dreaming of erect penis 25/8.
..the true oppressed peoples of the world pray for that type of oppression.
Gay people don't have legal benefits in this country.
If you want to compare the extent of oppression to say...sex slaves in this country? Yeah, one is a more raw deal

But injustice is injustice.

Its no less of an infringement of rights than anything else.

The battle is different but the war is the same.

This ain't about denying homosexuals of their natural human rights or persecuting any group of individuals...

The whole "my best friend is black" argument...
eyes.gif

I'm not racist...I swear!
eyes.gif

this is about seeing things for what they are.....and black homosexuality is the new blaxploitation.

Again, seeking the victim card.

Homosexuality is in ALL communities. Stop being so narcissistic.

There are actually other people that suffer JUST as much as you do in their own ways before you start trying to make it seem like only black people deal with homosexuality.

You care more about gay rights than black upliftment...that's clear to see. You talk about the victim card, then slant every sentence into something about gay victimization instead of objectively seeing the point that is trying to be made.

Up until the 1950s in England you could be sent to jail for being gay. Look up Alan Turing.

Are you serious, b?

Do you know what could happen to you for being black in the 50's? Do you know what petty BS a black person can be imprisoned for today or that we are being funneled into prison complexes by the hundreds of thousands today?!

Man G T F O H with your BS.

You got NYPD officers planting drugs on black men and locking them up to meet quotas today....I can easily get shot or arrested with virtually no impunity for simply walking while black at this very moment...yet you want me to feel sympathy for a lone homosexual charged with indecency in the 50's? Just that thought process indicates a disconnect with the reality that many of us live and that Dr. Umar speaks about.

I'm done turning an Umar Johnson appreciation thread into a discussion of homosexuality.

The brother has so much more to offer to the community and we have much more pressing issues to discuss and mobilize around.
