I agree with keeping this about Umar and not homosexual vs. Black rights and who has it worse, etc. The same old conversation. Please take that discussion else where. I respect your opinions Silly but let us stay on topic please.

But for a child sociologist, he really doesn't understand ANYTHING about homosexuality.

I'm not gay, nor have I ever had any homosexual inclination in my public OR private life...

but he sounds like an utter bigoted homophobe.

People are blaming race for EVERYTHING now. Things are changing and new paradigms are needed to address problems in the "black community"

BTW, don't call him the "new malcolm" since it came out recently "edit a source that heard it second hand from a unknown unreliable source" that Malcolm used to do some homosexual things before he was who we know him to be now.

Its LIFE.

Its time you all start growing up with respect to our homosexuality.

Gays and Lesbians have ALWAYS existed. Sexuality and gender identification are NOT black and white. There IS a grey scale of sexuality.

This guy sounds like a fool. Homosexuality is now a means of population control? Yeah i'm sure thats EXACTLY what it is.

He almost invalidates his credentials from the moment he opens his mouth. People need to stop thinking that having letters after your name makes people forget their own common sense.

Now on the topic of the effectiveness of our education, he has a point about being socialized about being overly patriotic and nationalistic...leading to being apart of our jingoistic foreign policy.

I think he has a point on the INeffectiveness of religion in the black community as well. Only because it shuns homosexuality.

Hell I admit that planned parenthood is pretty controversial in the black community...

I think he has a point about psychotropic drug prescriptions in the population...but NOT JUST in black people, but ALL people in this country.

he might have a point about light-skinned supremacy in the black community and other socio-political power structures...

He has a point about black women taking their frustrations out on their kids...but its NOT just black women, its all single mothers

He has a point about the lack of economic stability in the "black community"

but...

But his ENTIRE stance on homosexuality is incredibly MYOPIC, UN-RESEARCHED, AND IGNORANT. Every word he says about ANYTHING gay is COMPLETELY off base.

and I'm trying to be really unbiased here... but he sounds like he would rather kill every gay he ever met.

It honestly takes away from every other thing he's saying which might have be a decent point.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a closet case...

I think he doth protest too much...

I mean when is it going to end. I mean we get it you heart gays. You are gay. Ive never heard a person with so much conviction about homosexuality and not be gay. I mean just about any and all threads that deal with social/economical/sex/race injustices, discriminations, and/or intolorances and differences you always throw in the element of homosexuality.  We could be talking about differences about woman in the workplace etc by race etc... and you'll just throw in something about lesbians.

Now your true colors come out.
I'm not gay.

Next point.

To think I actually used to respect seeing you post. Now you're just showing how much of a bigot you are.

I'm not a woman but i'm wrong for wanting women to vote?

I'm not a native american but i'm wrong for wanting them to have equal rights?

I don't have cerebral palsy but i'm wrong for wanting to grant them disability advantages in government?

Get over yourself.

I'm convicted over homosexuality and that makes me gay?

I'm not white but I stick up for a white person and so that makes me white now?

What the hell is your problem?

THIS MAN SPOKE FOR 28 MINUTES AND ABOUT 60-70% OF THAT WAS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY. I'M NOT THE ONE WHO FOCUSED ON IT...HE WAS.

I SUGGEST YOU WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE YOU COME AT ME.

it seems as if thats all you have heard from or have knowledge of the man. If im making a snapped judgement, then what are you doing then by watching a single 20-30 minute youtube video about a man? I could maybe understand if you stated based on the video i saw on youtube it seems as if he isnt to keen on homosexuals. But you went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay left field and basically made this man out to be some sort of hitler to the homosexuals. As if he is out spreading hate hate hate homosexuals, like he is on a world wide tour, or holding a rally or something.

I mean dude has like hours of footage and discussed a myriad of reasons/topics of issues dealing with the black race and you pretty muched dismissed and ignored all he had to say and made it a focal point to address his stance on homosexuality. Why of all the range of reasons and topics he discussed you picked homosexuality as the one to pinpoint. Sounds like it must be on some personal #%@.

I said what I agreed with and said what I didn't agree with.
You touched on briefly with a little he said you agreed with. You went 200mph nonstop on the subject of homosexuality. As far as your comments about other discrimination i agree and i stand firm about all sorts of discriminations. But i can admit openly that I have and will speak on those against african americans due in part mostly because it renosants with me the most being that im african american and it affects me on a personal level. All I said was it appears and is clearly illustrated you do the same thing when it comes to the subject of homosexuality.

Thats more of an opinion than anything you offered on the entire subject.

I picked on homosexuality because out of the other myriad of things I agreed with him on, I completely disagreed with him on that.

Would you support barack if he wanted to kill all white people?

Human rights and civil rights are rights for ALL PEOPLE...I'm not going to sit up here and wave the glory flag of support and act like I can over look the one thing I disagree with him about.

I actually took the time to process DC's support for this guy and issued my criticism.

If theres a list of 100 things and I disagree with 2 of them, i'm going to make it be known. I'm sorry you lack the conviction to stand up for anything you don't agree with.

Hes blaming homosexuality for EVERYTHING.

Watch the videos. Tell me i'm lying.

I mean im all for equality for all and i can admit im more passionate about the black issues.

So freaking act like it.
But i dont make it a focal point or steer any case scenario that has to do with injustices etc about black ppl. Seems like thats what you do in respects with sexual orientation discrimination.

Umar Johnson made a video about the problems facing the black community.

In his videos he spoke on a myriad of topics with the CLEAR majority of it being focused on homosexuality.

MORE THAN HALF OF HIS SPEAKING TIME WAS ON GAYS.

on top of that you overlooked all of the things I said I DID agree with.
I mean if you gay its cool.
I'm not. But thanks for the red-herring.
But what isnt cool is being gay, pretending your not gay, and making an issue about gay discrimination, or

Again, i'm not gay.

making everything about gay issues.

Like Dr. Umar Johnson?
I guess this would be equivalent to the black race card, the gay card if you will.

Pathetic.

Because I don't cite homosexuality as the cause for world hunger then all of a sudden i'm a closet homosexual.

I LOVE that consistency in logic.

You don't hate gays... that means you secretly dream about penis!

First he didnt blame homosexuality about everything. And yes you did discuss other issues he addressed. Never said you didnt. What I said is that your focal point was homosexuality which it was. I mean out of iuno 7-8 paragraphs in your response. A good 6 were about how ignorant he sounds saying homosexuality is a problem in the black community. So for me to say your main/majority of your response was about homosexuality is in fact accurate.

As far as it being ludicrous that homosexuality can be a problem in the black community, and the fact that it is ubsurd that media/society can use this vice as a means of population control is equally ludicris. Ive never said homosexuality is wrong. To me it isnt a right or wrong type of thing. As so often as you put it a black and white thing.

But to say it doesnt effect the black community, or effects the black population is ludicris. It is simply due to the fact that homosexuality would decrease births, thus reducing population aka population control. It is true due to the fact that with homosexuality the higher risk of aids/hiv and other life ending diseases. It is true in the sense of this metro/#%+# whatever it is called movement currently running rampid particularly in the young black community. It is true that the most prized media representations of black males are homosexuals/bi or dress up as women or wear women clothes. It is true that majority of young blacks are raised by single mothers, who never had a positive male figure in their lives, therefore cant teach their kids, or give them an accurate depiction of said positive male father figure examples of a black male.

I dont think myself nor mr johnson are saying no gays in the black community=utopia. And that the many problems and issues that plague blacks will magically dissappear if homosexuality didnt exist in the black community. But to act as if it has absolutely no prevelance. Or act as if media/society has no input or influencing powers of promoting homosexuality in particular in respects to black males is an absurdity in itself.

I have stated many things that he has said in several topics, and have discussed and commented on many threads that deal with unfairness, discrimination, injustices of all walks of life. All i said was and i have just noticed it that you lean to discuss issues relating to homosexuality the most. Its not a diss, its a fact. If your just very very passionate about their struggles so be it. But imho it comes across as if and many would also agree that when someone is ademently passionate about a certain aspect of a subject over another that it usually is relatable or hits homes in a personal way.

Like i said gay/not gay doesnt matter what you are to me. And if you are particularly passionate about the plight of homsexuals then cool for you. But you make it seems as if i was comming for your head or was trying to use homosexuality as a means of belittling you or discrediting what you have to say or who you are as a individual and it wasnt.

Maybe i assumed and so be it. But ill give you this as an example. A person who is for peace and equality for all mankind. But they spend a extra time and energy on issues that deal with animal cruelty, they spend more time at animal shelters then soup kitchens and donation drives, or peace rallies. And they were particularly upset and outspoken on the whole mike vick incident. It wouldnt be a diss or a crazy outlandish assumption to think that this person has a pinpoint particular interest in the injustices of animals, nor would it be absurd to think maybe they have this extra interest in animal rights because it affects/affected them in a personal way.

Here come the contingent on non-black NT'ers more interested in topics about the black community than black people to derail the convo.

Never fails.

Like I said, there have always been 2 distinct trains of black thought and culture, with many faction within them....its time to make that split even more decisive because we are both holding each other back from achieving our respective goals and living up to our ideals.

?
like who?

I stopped listening after he said the education system was set up for black boys to hate themselves. I intend to listen to the rest later but I'm not in a good place to listen right now. Beyond that reason, I stopped because I am a black male (17 years old) and I don't hate myself. I never grasped that from my soon to be 12 years of education.
This clip is already starting to go down hill for me, I hop when I get home to hear the rest he makes some logical and rational arguments.

goldenchild9 wrote:
You care more about gay rights than black upliftment...that's clear to see. You talk about the victim card, then slant every sentence into something about gay victimization instead of objectively seeing the point that is trying to be made.

Are you functionally illiterate or are you just selectively choosing to throw a hissy fit?
I said I agreed with every thing else he said EXCEPT for his rant on homosexuality.

This is a smart brother but his views on homosexuality are myopic and preventing him from seeing REAL change and making advances.

I'm sorry for actually offering a critique of your new demi-god.

Just because hes black doesn't mean I have to agree with him on EVERYTHING.

Its that sort of reluctance to challenge your leadership that doesn't get you anywhere.

Up until the 1950s in England you could be sent to jail for being gay. Look up Alan Turing.

Are you serious, b?

Do you know what could happen to you for being black in the 50's? Do you know what petty BS a black person can be imprisoned for today or how we as a people are still being relentlessly and cunningly oppressed all over the world today?!

I didn't say problems didn't exist in the black community.

I said that blaming gays for everything instead of those other REAL influences he touched on is incredibly immature.

Man G T F O H with your BS.

Ok. Deuces.

I'm done turning an Umar Johnson appreciation thread into a discussion of homosexual rights.

Cool. Lets turn this into an Umar Johnson loves the black community but hates gays thread then.

Thats what it is.

Like i said, this dude was on point with everything else...except his rant on homosexuality...

In fact he focused on it for 60-70% of his damn talking points.

You tell me who is pre-occupied with homosexuality.

if he really cared about black rights, he'd be talking about racism more than homosexuality...but no one thinks like that, do they? That would make too much sense!

The brother has so much more to offer to the community and we have much more pressing issues to discuss and mobilize around.

Yeah, like limiting the rights of gays.

You're acting no better than zionist Jews who suppress the rights of palestinians.

Human rights are rights for ALL people.

I'm down to ride when it comes to mobilizing the black community but i'm not going to do so at the expense of homosexuals who have done NOTHING wrong and have LESS rights than you do RIGHT NOW.

First he didnt blame homosexuality about everything.

Oh really?
what was 60-70% of his speech on then?

And yes you did discuss other issues he addressed.
Never said you didnt.

Yet you neglected to acknowledge them. Ironic.

What I said is that your focal point was homosexuality which it was.

My focal point was that a clear and definite majority of his speech focused on homosexuality.

That was HIS decision.

Not mine.

I also spoke on things I agreed with in CLEAR detail.

I showed my PROOF that I payed attention.
I mean out of iuno 7-8 paragraphs in your response. A good 6 were about how ignorant he sounds saying homosexuality is a problem in the black community. So for me to say your main/majority of your response was about homosexuality is in fact accurate.

The length of my response does not impact the validity or the content of my response.

Additionally, my address of homosexuality in his rant was PROPORTIONAL to the extent of time he touched on it in his own rants.

As far as it being ludicrous that homosexuality can be a problem in the black community, and the fact that it is ubsurd that media/society can use this vice as a means of population control is equally ludicris.

If you're not gay then what do you have to worry about?

See the point?
Ive never said homosexuality is wrong. To me it isnt a right or wrong type of thing. As so often as you put it a black and white thing.
So why blame them for the ills in the black community?

But to say it doesnt effect the black community, or effects the black population is ludicris.
Why are you selectively choosing ONLY the black community.
You act like we're the only ones that eat watermelon and eat chicken.

You all love to moan about how unfair your treatment is but the at the same time reinforce your separation from others.

You can't have it both ways.

It is simply due to the fact that homosexuality would decrease births, thus reducing population aka population control.

OK...thats if lesbian couples choose not to bear children or gay males dont' donate sperm.
The reproductive faculties ARE present, they're just not being used.

It is true due to the fact that with homosexuality the higher risk of aids/hiv and other life ending diseases.

False.
Being gay does not make you MORE HIV positive...its behaviors associated with HIDING being gay that puts you at a higher risk. Hiding that you're being downlow and the sensitivity of anal sex increases the risk of HIV transmission...not just being gay.

It is true in the sense of this metro/#%+# whatever it is called movement currently running rampid particularly in the young black community.

Rampid = Rampant
On top of that, just because you want to see everyone dress up in suits doesn't mean they will.

Get over it.

The world doesn't work the way YOU want it to.

It is true that the most prized media representations of black males are homosexuals/bi or dress up as women or wear women clothes.

So, why don't you offer more representations to counter that?
Its not a conspiracy. Its just whats out there. Go change it then my brother.

That doesn't mean you're more Gay.

On top of that, did Adam Sandler just not do a movie where he plays his sister?
eyes.gif

It is true that majority of young blacks are raised by single mothers, who never had a positive male figure in their lives,

This has what to do with gays?
therefore cant teach their kids

This has what to do with gays?

or give them an accurate depiction of said positive male father figure examples of a black male.

This has what to do with gays?
I dont think myself nor mr johnson are saying no gays in the black community=utopia.

So what are you accomplishing by targeting them?
You say you dont like the images...so are you just saying you're going to tolerant or you're going to get rid of them?

And that the many problems and issues that plague blacks will magically dissappear if homosexuality didnt exist in the black community.

So why is it being treated as a scapegoat?
But to act as if it has absolutely no prevelance. Or act as if media/society has no input or influencing powers of promoting homosexuality in particular in respects to black males is an absurdity in itself.

Shows like Glee and all that aren't forcing people to be gay.
They're showing that gay people are normal people.

Shows like the Cosby Show weren't forcing people to be black...they were showing people that we were normal people capable of living normal lives.

I have stated many things that he has said in several topics, and have discussed and commented on many threads that deal with unfairness, discrimination, injustices of all walks of life.

Your post history doesn't matter to me.
I care about the here and now.

Right now, you're using homosexuals as a scapegoat for the ineptitude of single mothers or people to mobilize and create their own media.

All i said was and i have just noticed it that you lean to discuss issues relating to homosexuality the most.

Because homosexuality isn't the reason earthquakes happen.
Stop blaming stuff that has NO effect on what you're getting at.

Its like me blaming black people for the fall of the government in Indochina in the 60s.

Its not a diss, its a fact. If your just very very passionate about their struggles so be it.

Because I think its unfair to blame something thats completely unrelated? Yeah thats fair.
eyes.gif

Black people have MORE rights than gays do in this country...yet you want to blame them for your kid seeing two men kiss in a movie.

But imho it comes across as if and many would also agree that when someone is ademently passionate about a certain aspect of a subject over another that it usually is relatable or hits homes in a personal way.

It doesn't hit home personally.
I dont have any gay family members.

I'm not gay.

In fact most of my immediate family is pretty homophobic.

I'm just smart enough to know that my view of the world isn't enough and that there are other perspectives out there that need just as much advocacy and legitimacy as our own.

There is no need to act like the black struggle is the ONLY struggle.

Like i said gay/not gay doesnt matter what you are to me.

So stop saying i'm gay with every post.
And if you are particularly passionate about the plight of homsexuals then cool for you.

What if  I started saying that you're a scorned porch monkey for always championing black rights.
Wouldn't you be hurt?

Of course i'd NEVER say something like that, but i'm not going to delegitimize your pursuit for black rights...because those are HUMAN and CIVIL rights. They're not just for black people but ALL people.

But you make it seems as if i was comming for your head or was trying to use homosexuality as a means of belittling you or discrediting what you have to say or who you are as a individual and it wasnt.

Wow.

It wouldnt be a diss or a crazy outlandish assumption to think that this person has a pinpoint particular interest in the injustices of animals, nor would it be absurd to think maybe they have this extra interest in animal rights because it affects/affected them in a personal way.

You don't have to go through something to identify with something.

Again, sheer ignorance.

Stop making assumptions and you won't run into this problem you have with speaking and not thinking.

If he said a bunch of stuff I agreed with, i'd have kept it at that...

but he didn't.

And you can't have a conversation without a degree of criticism.

Was your point for all of us to fall in line lock step with his ideology or to at least process his different points and move from there?

I agreed with most of what he said EXCEPT about homosexuality.

This guy is the type to invest in his own pseudoscientific theorizes he makes up at the dinner table while resting on the actual research he had to do to get those letters after his name. Hes abusing the respect he gained from his profession by way of investigative assertions and making substantiated claims.

why do people get upset when nonblacks say it?
I believe in most of what you guys say,

I just find it wild that everyone gets bent out of shape if a nonblack repeats half of what everyone knows is truth.

blacks can recite statistics on black plight at the drop of a dime, but HATE when they're stereotyped,

it's not right, but how can you understand stats, but not how/why stereotypes exist?

I am pretty sure any Latino Civil Rights Leader would be singing the same tune. Them against us. Not that different of a struggle honestly. He is just Afro centered, which is why he isn't speaking on Latino kids.

Silly, you missed my point. I just don't want this to turn into another homosexuality/morality thread. Nothing further man. You are shifting this thread into just that. That is all I am saying.

lol this thread is funny

When homosexuality is present in other races "oh yea, it's their preference as long as they don't mess with me, I don't mind"

but when it's in the black community

"they're feminizing black males. Homesexuality is being pushed on us"

are you serious?

Do you live under a rock?

Jesus christ, I think this is the first time I notice this time of logic.

Like, are you for reals? wow

Why is internal critique of Israel called Israeli political banter but the same sentiment echoed by others is labeled as anti-Semitism?

Why is rhetoric about the decadence of America, espoused by American citizens, called "looking in the mirror" but the same exact words said by foreigners is called anti-American?

Why are so many Dominicans in NY so racist towards black people in their own communities even though they have the same complexion and much of the same culture?

Why are 2 NY Dominicans in here shooting down someone trying to uplift his people, eventhough the conversation has nothing to do with them?

Why do you come into every thread about black people with your nonsensical one-liners and thinly veiled anti-black undertones?

WHY?!

I'm not going to argue like there isnt racism or self hate in the Dominican community, but I do hope you enjoy this thread.

Peace.

I wish you all well and hope you find the knowledge which you seek.

There are black Dominicans and there are white Dominicans.
Those shallow and inaccurate racial classifications are just that, shallow and inaccurate.

Community is about shared culture, ideology and interaction moreso than ethnic or racial classification. Thats why you have some people who would be physically classified as black but their mentalities effectively make them members of the white socio-political community.

I'm all for honestly talking about the problems in the BLACK AND LATINO community because we have a lot of similar issues but don't just antagonize and post 1 liners, which you and others have a habit of doing, then wonder why people might take your critique the wrong way...

When they do it, its cause they're nasty and immoral and born that way

When we do it, its an epidemic and a choice!

That would only show how black people tend to be just as self-interested as everyone else.

Forbid they remember what they went through actually identify with the struggles of others and learn that the world doesn't revolve around them!

Why does this Umar guy focus so much of his attention on it then?

I'm only defending homosexuals because they're being used as a scape-goat and red-herring in a vast majority of his speaking points.

First of all worrying about everyone else is what has us in the situation that we are in currently.
As for the Umar video, he spoke about homosexuality because those were the questions asked by the interviewer, questions which were edited out of that particular video. The majority of his information is about dealing with personal core issues, so you sound real silly claiming that he uses homosexuals as scape-goats for the problems in our community. I have listened to the brother speak for 2 years now and I have never once got anything close to that thesis from his speeches.

So freaking act like it.

I'm not. But thanks for the red-herring.

Again, i'm not gay.

Like Dr. Umar Johnson?

Pathetic.

Because I don't cite homosexuality as the cause for world hunger then all of a sudden i'm a closet homosexual.

I LOVE that consistency in logic.

You don't hate gays... that means you secretly dream about penis!

First he didnt blame homosexuality about everything.

Oh really?
what was 60-70% of his speech on then?

And yes you did discuss other issues he addressed.
Never said you didnt.

Yet you neglected to acknowledge them. Ironic.

Because it was few and far between and 80% maybe more was about his stance on homosexuality.

What I said is that your focal point was homosexuality which it was.

My focal point was that a clear and definite majority of his speech focused on homosexuality.

Ok it wasnt. His point was the ills of young black males. Granted one of his key points was heavily influenced on gays. But his main objective was ills of black boys. Your main focal was homosexuality in your response.

It in fact does. If you were to right a paper and its was 10 paragraphs and 8 were about one subject and the title was synonomous with those 8 paragraphs anyone reading the paper would say your focal point of the paper was the title and the 8 paragraphs.

See the point?

um no that doesnt even address the subject/content in which he used homosexuality. and why would i be worried doesnt even make sense or correlate to the subject.
Ive never said homosexuality is wrong. To me it isnt a right or wrong type of thing. As so often as you put it a black and white thing.
So why blame them for the ills in the black community?

he didnt, he stated that as well as others the over-emphasis of homosexual/metro males. and under-emphasis of males in respects of father/mother dynamic in society is a cause. i didnt hear him once elude to any aspect of homosexuality leads to detriment to the black community. he specified it to blacks, moreso the prominance of promoting it as oppose to strong father figures in the aspect of a mother/father family nucleus.

But to say it doesnt effect the black community, or effects the black population is ludicris.
Why are you selectively choosing ONLY the black community.

Um because the speaker is giving his stance on the BLACK COMMUNITY thats why. The subject topic isnt about all other races. its about blacks and the black community, so why would he touch on other races and communities when its not relevant to the topic he is discussing?
You act like we're the only ones that eat watermelon and eat chicken.

You all love to moan about how unfair your treatment is but the at the same time reinforce your separation from others.

You can't have it both ways.

It is simply due to the fact that homosexuality would decrease births, thus reducing population aka population control.

OK...thats if lesbian couples choose not to bear children or gay males dont' donate sperm.
The reproductive faculties ARE present, they're just not being used.

Ok so its a non factor so why mention it.

Which is currently happening. I can respect your utopian we are the world we are the children stance but the fact still remains dudes are dl, etc and thats has alot to do with social/media influences.

It is true in the sense of this metro/#%+# whatever it is called movement currently running rampid particularly in the young black community.

Rampid = Rampant
On top of that, just because you want to see everyone dress up in suits doesn't mean they will.

Get over it.

Never said i did. I just stated a fact. And it is a big influence on todays youth.

The world doesn't work the way YOU want it to.

It is true that the most prized media representations of black males are homosexuals/bi or dress up as women or wear women clothes.

So, why don't you offer more representations to counter that?

Ppl are but it still doesnt change what is going on at this present moment. Your speaking on what could happen, what ppl should do, and in essense your right, but that doesnt negate what is going on currently, which is what the speaker is addressing. He was speaking on the CURRENT ills/conditions etc of the black community.

Its not a conspiracy. Its just whats out there. Go change it then my brother.

That doesn't mean you're more Gay.

On top of that, did Adam Sandler just not do a movie where he plays his sister?
eyes.gif

um he isnt a prominant actor in no shape of the word. let alone a major big wig example of his race. so that was a horrible example. Are you really going to sit her and say the likes of adam sandler and his prevelance/influence on the white community is up there with the prevelance/influence of a tyler perry, martin lawrence, chris rock etc of the black community?

It is true that majority of young blacks are raised by single mothers, who never had a positive male figure in their lives,

This has what to do with gays?

Because if the only perceptions they see of decent well to do males in there likeliness are not str8 or heavily homosexual influenced then..... Thats what it has to do with black prominent males that are GAY. Thats the point/message. He is only addressing issues of the black community. Again your speaking on ppl in general. Nowhere in the speaker topic does it says the ills of all races/sexual orientation. He is specifically addressing blacks, and males/boys.

This is exactly what i was saying in my last response. The subject is about current state of black males/boys. And yet again like many subjects, you swayed from the topic and start talking about all races and homosexuality of all races of ppl.

It be different, if lets say the speaker subject was about the ills of all current youths regardless of race, and it would be different if he spoke on all races that are gay. But he didnt, yet again you switched and bait the topic and made it about injustices of gays.

The topic or subject in hand has nothing to do with injustices of gays of all races. It has to do with the ills of black males/boys in its current state. And one of his sub-topics addresses the influences of social media/society and promotions over emphasizing gay black males.

therefore cant teach their kids

This has what to do with gays?

or give them an accurate depiction of said positive male father figure examples of a black male.

This has what to do with gays?
I dont think myself nor mr johnson are saying no gays in the black community=utopia.

So what are you accomplishing by targeting them?

he didnt he said it was one of the elements. he mentioned several others. its you that is targeting and over emphasizing the gay sub-topic. Again it was a sub-topic umbrella under a topic that has to deal with black males/boys current state. you have taken a sub-topic and made it appear as if it was the main focal point of his discussion and was his o.g. topic which it wasnt. Was it a facet of his argument? YES. Was it his only one? NO. But you have made it seem not only was it his main/only driving force. but also included all homosexuals and all races in general when the topic clearly is addressing blacks only.
You say you dont like the images...so are you just saying you're going to tolerant or you're going to get rid of them?

And that the many problems and issues that plague blacks will magically dissappear if homosexuality didnt exist in the black community.

So why is it being treated as a scapegoat?

Its not it is one of the many elements, and he did infact discuss the other elements. Maybe not as much. But it def. wasnt on some 80-90% kinda like you are in respects of the gay issue.

No one said it was but again you fail to realize this thread and the speakers subject matter is about blacks. So talking about asian, white etc is irrelevant in the since of the speakers subject and in the since of this thread. You are saying because we arent discussing other races/sexuality in this thread we are ignoring them. And we arent we are just focusing on the black ones because HELLO. That is what this thread is about.

It be like if there is a thread about bball and unfair wages, and someone says oh so since yall talking about bball unfair wages yall dont care about football unfair wages, or other sports unfair wages. And then go on to say oh you hate all other sports because you arent talking about them. The reason we wouldnt be talking about unfair wages in other sports, or talking about other sports in general is because the speaker/thread isnt about them. The speaker/thread is talking about a particular sport and about a particular subject of said sport thats why.

Like i said gay/not gay doesnt matter what you are to me.

So stop saying i'm gay with every post.
And if you are particularly passionate about the plight of homsexuals then cool for you.

What if  I started saying that you're a scorned porch monkey for always championing black rights.
But i never called you a derrogatory name, so that would be different. But if you stated oh you seem to focus on more of the topics dealing with blacks, you must relate to blacks or maybe black yourself. Then no i wouldnt be offended because it would make sense and would be logically that you thought that of myself.

Oh really? Whats this:  http://niketalk.yuku.com/...aker-Child-Psychologist-

LDJ wrote:

. Ive never heard a person with so much conviction about homosexuality and not be gay. I mean just about any and all threads that deal with social/economical/sex/race injustices, discriminations, and/or intolorances and differences you always throw in the element of homosexuality.  We could be talking about differences about woman in the workplace etc by race etc... and you'll just throw in something about lesbians.

eyes.gif

ok how is saying you love to chime in talk about gay rights and issues and majority of your threads are about defending there rights a diss exactly. And how is saying if you are gay then its whatever I really could care less is a diss? What derrogatory, or disrespectfull words was said there?

If someone said you always seem to favor black topics, and you love black ppl, you must be black. i personally wouldnt see it as a diss. So why would you sit here and say that if i state you love and always chime in on issues dealing with gays a diss/ Unless you feel being associated with gays is a diss then im really perplexed and confused about your stance on things.

Maybe i assumed and so be it.
MAYBE?!  You're not even sure if you did or not?
Wow.

But ill give you this as an example. A person who is for peace and equality for all mankind.

Except gays, right?
But they spend a extra time and energy on issues that deal with animal cruelty, they spend more time at animal shelters then soup kitchens and donation drives, or peace rallies. And they were particularly upset and outspoken on the whole mike vick incident.

So that means they support bestiality or something extreme, in your eyes, right?

No that they are passionate about treatment of animals, as would anyone else. To most ppl if you extend/spend more time on a subject/cause etc then others, most ppl would tend to think you favor that subject/cause more then others. Out of the four major sports if I spent more time involving myself with football then the other 3, how would it exactly be absurd for someone to think i favor football over the other 3? And why would that mean because I favor football over the other 3 equate that I hate the other 3?
It wouldnt be a diss or a crazy outlandish assumption to think that this person has a pinpoint particular interest in the injustices of animals, nor would it be absurd to think maybe they have this extra interest in animal rights because it affects/affected them in a personal way.

You don't have to go through something to identify with something

um yes you do. how exactly for example can you emphatize with the lost of a child if you never had children? .How can you emphatize with someone who lost there mom if yours still living? Could you symphathize for them sure. But to emphatize you have to have felt/expereinced it.

Again, sheer ignorance.

Its not ignorance, if someone addresses or spend more time doing one activity and/or speaking addressing a subject as oppose to others then yes that is a sign of favoritism. I have a 360/wii/ps3. i spend 60% of my gaming on my 360. Based on that stat how would it be ignorant if someone says you favor spending video game time on your 360 as oppose to the other 2 game systems? That is what favoritism is.

Stop making assumptions and you won't run into this problem you have with speaking and not thinking.

Um ok he was asked about the black community, and its current state. He was asked about black men/boys. So why in the hell would he be talking about/addressing the issues of spanish speaking americans? That doesnt even make sense. That be like an interviewer asking kobe what he thinks about the odom/gasol trade fiasco and he goes waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off the grid and says im from philly and a o.g. mcnabb fan and i hate what has become of mcnabb and how the nfl is treating him. Yes he may have a valid point but it has nothing to do with the subject/topic or the questions being asked.

Yes there is.
However, the recent surge in the number of black homosexual teenagers area I live in (DC metro area) is crazy to say the least.  There's something going on besides homosexuality just becoming more acceptable within the culture and it needs to be addressed.

I'm just speaking from my frame of reference, I have no idea what's going on in other black neighborhoods around the country.
