Despite his insistence that his job was safe, the Brian Billick era in Baltimore is over.

The team fired their head coach Monday, FOXSports.com has learned, capping an extremely disappointing season.

This comes one day after FOX Sports reported that the players and other employees informed team owner Steve Biscotti that Billick had completely lost thelocker room and could not win them back.

Billick was hired as an offensive guru but during his tenure it was his defenses that won for the Ravens, especially their Super Bowl title. Over timeBillick was unable to get his QBs to star and his offenses stalled year in and year out.

Earlier this year he proclaimed that he had been given the vote of confidence from Biscottit but that was never confirmed and was obviously not true.

Ravens just gave Billick an extension a couple months ago, so they're paying him like $15 mil, and he owes Ray Lewis, Ogden, Flynn, and the other vets every penny of that for ****tting away their careers in their primes
for real. bring in cowher

Whoa... backtrack. These guys just offered and signed him for an extention. And now, not even a month after the extention, they fire him?

Dont do that to a man. Just let him walk if that was the overall plan. I mean, he needed to be let go, no doubt about that. But to re-sign him and then firehim is dirty.

The extension was foolish indeed, but he cemented his fate with his awful coaching display during the 9 losses in a row just before the final game. Theylost to MIAMI dude. Miami!!

^ he got a new contract last year

They need to promote Ryan or bring in an offensive minded coach and keep Ryan as the Def. coordinator

In my opinion Billick was a good coach and still is.
Hopefully the Vikings will make a good move for once and fire Childress and bring in Billick.

damn billick said he was confident that he was gonna stay... guess not I think marty would be a perfect fit in b more
