Well the game is finally less than 24hrs away from faceoff. When the game was announced I was estatic, but I'm more exicted than ever to be there tomorrow.
It should be an entertaining game in itself, two of the youngest teams in the league squaring off...there is a bunch of young talent (Crosby, Malkin, Staal,Vanek, Stafford, Connolly). Miller is a great goaltender as well.

There are a couple of slight rule changes to the setup of the game:

The league decided Saturday that the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins will switch ends midway through the third period. If the game should go into overtime, the teams will switch ends again at the 2½-minute mark.

Stiff winds earlier this week delayed the transformation of Ralph Wilson Stadium into a hockey rink, and the NHL doesn't want them to play a significant role in Tuesday's game.

"Because we're outside and not inside in a controlled atmosphere, we want to make sure both teams have the same opportunities," Don Renzulli, the league's senior vice president of events and entertainment, said at the stadium Saturday afternoon.

If the game goes to a shootout, the goalies will choose which net they want to defend, creating a situation in which both teams could end up shooting at the same goal.

...but everything else is the same.

Interesting is the fact that if weather delays the game (most likely cause of rain if anything), then the game would be played Wednesday night at 7pm (which iswhat I would honestly prefer)

I can't wait to be in my seats though

Weather is supposed to be possible snow flurries with 30 mph wind gusts. Going to be a great game though, Sabres are terrible this year and Crosby will have 2goals and an assist I think. Can't wait to be hung over and just chilling watching this and the bowl games....

c'mon NT, lets advertise this so that the NHL gets more coverage in the US. the game is gonna be on NBC, it has been said that if it gets low ratings likelast-years playoffs, then NBC is done with the NHL, and the only major network the NHL got is with Versus.

Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Connolly, and Afinogenov: they're all playing. its gonna be a good game if mother nature cooperates!!!

Watch the game, and u might come to like it.

Cross the border up north, and you are never going to hear the end of the sport.

Ill switch you countries for a week, how does that sound?

I'm wondering the same thing.

ya theres actually quite a big gap between the rink and the seats, as u can see in the first picture. u can see the little blue part, thats the outer edgeof the rink.

this should be fun to watch.

hopefully they put on a good show and play hard (there's a zamboni in my pants)

Good move by Lindy Ruff (Sabres Coach) to let the team play some shinny for the most of the practice, it really brings back a lot of memories when we get to dothat

in HD.

The snow just adds to the whole concept of the outdoor game. Should be fun to watch

looks like a wild atmosphere. must be freezing as hell

makes me wanna put some icy hot on my crotch

Why are the Penguins wearing those powder blue jerseys?

It is a throwback.....

Crosby's skill with the puck is amazing. Only Lemiuex and Wayne may have had more. Incredible player. Penguins starting strong, but they are known to giveup a lot of goals

Those jerseys are their original jerseys from when they entered the league

^ Oh okay.

They just showed a shot of the stadium and it is packed.

When I first heard the NHL was doing this I was a bit skeptical, but it looks like this experiment will be successful.
