1/1/08: NHL Winter Classic: Pittsburgh @ Buffalo *Outdoors* 1PM NBC

When I first was watching the game for the longest time I thought it was the San Jose Sharks...didnt even bother to notice the scoreboard. It would of beennice to have the crowd seated close to the rink

they could'nt make seat close because there would be no place to put the nets to stop the puck......if someone gets hit with a puck that close they wouldprob be dead

... my Sabres gotta do it big... not often do i get to see their games, hopefully they can put this one away... i would LOVE to see a shootoutvictory in this just to make the venue that much more exciting

A player like Crosby needs more enforcers to protect him. I often see other teams' guys trying to get an extra shot in. Looks like this one might go topenalty shots, which should be fun.
 
Anyone else catch Lindy Ruff's Sabres letterman jacket? Never seen it anywhere in Buffalo before.

I used to love hockey, but I haven't followed it closely since I was like 12.

I don't know what it is, but watching this is so much more enjoyable than a regular game.
 
Damn Sabres came close on two opportunities just now. You have to be a real man to play in this sport. Getting hit with the stick on the wrist in regularindoor conditions ain't no joke, let alone this weather. Hooking penalty is going to be big! RIP Pittsburgh

Man...wow. This was a great show by hockey. The snow, The shoot out and the Kid with the winner. Great game. If only they could do all the games like this.Games like these could make the NHL popular again.
