Moving to a different city

Hyattsville
Riverdale
College Park

Deanwood, in DC, for single family homes. Hurry though, prices are rising

As wild as this is, I am reluctant to move from DC because I can easily catch the METRO to/from work with no issues. Our train basically goes anywhere you would need to go. I can't say that about any other city that I would WANT to live in.

Phoenix
Seattle
San Diego

I can't stand sitting in traffic man.
coming from LA and here now in phoenix, and traffic is super chill.  I'm on the westside phx, and travel to tempe/downtown for work and taking the 101loop is approx 25min.  Been here 10+yrs and love it.  If you plan on living in downtown/tempe area and also find work there....you won't need a car anymore.  They have upgraded the lightrail system here so that you can go all around downtown/tempe to sky harbor airport w/no issues. good luck brodee

are the summers really that bad? My wife keeps saying she doesnt think she could handle the summers. I dont think it wouod bother me, i ******* hate the cold and any kind of rain.

Arizona is a dry heat. Not like the south where you all stick an stuff.

Everywhere is ac, so you stay indoors or they got misters...

i been there in sept/oct and april. Never experienced the summer months, for me it would just be a hot winter, which is better than cold and wet northeast winter.

Miss the hell outta The 602. Heard their turning 51 ave into a new freeway looping out towards awahtukee

1 good thing is this free tuition thing trying to pass in albany or wherever. Free tuition at cuny if u stay here after graduating.
What u truly get in ny/li u cant get in parts of the world. Alot of exclusive things here. Ny home to 1 of best hospitals, Ny Presbyterian. Its more of a fiance/police/govt/law environment here, but tech industry trying to Comeup.
People tend to stick to their own groups, hard to connect but slowly if u cool with people u can. Pretty liberal but there are some hardcore conservatives/racist/ignorant/bigots here.
We have some the best dining and cuisines, again ususally $$$ for top quality. Halal carts A1! queens has the best diversity
Yankees>>>>

However tax rate nyc is 1 of the highest in the country ~8.775%
Rents too high, pay rates are rising but most part min. Wage is behind the rising costs. Kinda greedy around here parking spots are small and cost alot more. Buses and subways always crowded at peak times (very annoying stress)
Li housing prices have more than doubled since 97 (obvious)
So thus prop taxes and initial cost will be alot, but long term bills like water will be cheaper than nyc water. Suffolk quite segregated, but ive noticed gentrification more around cerain Li parts.

NY is a capitalists dream, rising costs, reduced pay or gradual increases that keep min. Wage workers struggling. Upper classes are doing fine. Space is becoming cramped, VERY hard to find parking easily, cabbies and ubers beef alot  city tries to add more lanes for walking and biking but people try to skirt around that zone.

So yes ill say you'll need a bit of dough/income to live nicely around the good parts of nyc/li. A good 6 figures around parts of Manhattan, upper $80k+ surrounding boroughs and def like $150-250k+ parts of LI. Li houses avg price would be in the $450-600k+

And one thing ill add, we get usually the most allocation of sneakers released in ny :nthat:

Moved to San Diego about 6 months after I made this thread and still here :smokin

Expensive as hell but the weather is great, food even better and got a girl and all that other good stuff.

We have talked ab moving somewhere else in the near future and Seattle is still at the top of our list along with Portland, Dallas and Austin.

How much you need to buy a nice 3/4 bedroom house in a good area out there?

My sister and some other family out in portland. I love it out there but couldnt do the drearyness all the time.

We currently rent right now but the houses that are in our area run from ab 400 grand to upwards over a mill. Housing down here is NOT cheap and rent ain't any better that's why we are considering moving.

Theyre making the loop 202 fully connect.  Tukee folks are pissed, lol
We're trying to move to scottsdale az in a year or two. Time to get the **** out the northeast.
Scottsdale is overrated and overpriced.  East Valley is where it's at, housing wise.  Chandler and Gilbert are popping.

im married, in my 30s and no kids, but may have kids. Chandler and gilbert are where we should be looking? Also want to be close to outdoor activities, decent shopping/restaurant scene but dont really need a robust nightlife.

Chandler, Gilbert and Ahwatukee Foothills all have that.  I like Gilbert, the best personally.  Downtown Gilbert has some really good restaurants and a really cool vibe.  Plenty of shopping, too.

we're in north phoenix area....google "desert ridge".  Right off the 101, clean as hell...everything is accessible, and your neighbors will pretty much be transplants in your age group.  That is where we are at right now, and if you're familiar with Southern Cali....it reminds us of a tustin/irvine area.

lots of new builds, communities with schools, bunch of restaurants.....and we're talking nice *** restaurants where most are from like big cities:

mastros

ruth chris

grimaldi's

lou malnatis

bunch of breweries

We're in a 3bdr, 3bath 1900sq ft in what some peeps would say a "great location" in north phoenix and we purchased our home for 315k 10yrs ago.  about 1700 a month on mortgage.  I was paying more for a 2bdr apartment a month during my college years in Brea, CA.  smh

**oh, and super fast internet here   Cox Gigablast FTW.  Rumors of Google Fiber coming.  Then you have hotspots pretty much everywhere in tempe (my work) due to college atmosphere.

@Cards93
, PM me when youre out this way.  Always down to help an NTer out

Will do, thanks for the offer.

Every person I know that says they wanna move to Arizona says Scottsdale...
You don't have to live in Scottsdale to enjoy Scottsdale shopping...place expensive.

I just moved from Allentown, PA to Los Angeles.

I had cancer, and this environment is best for my healing.

I really miss my family and my ex girlfriend(we broke up... my fault)

But LA has been really good to me. There are plenty of opportunities that are just showing up for me here that would have never shown up for me at home.

In this world, sometimes you have to be where the moves are being made in order to help impact the cause that you want to commit your life to.

I want to cure cancer, and for me that is going to start here
