Now, this thread is for the blackberry ridaz out there lol. This thread is not about BASHING ios, droid, symbian, ect. Its for the crackberry heads to share deals, give advice, themes, info regarding blackberry. It seems the biggest news coming out of rims camp is the replacing of the co ceo's.

The Financial Post is reporting that the RIM board may soon be looking to replace co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie as chairman. According to the report, RIM is facing constant pressure from the shareholders and is looking to replace the current co-chairman roles with Barbara Stymiest, an independent director who joined RIM's board back in 2007. A committee of independent directors have been examining the structure of RIM's board, and while Lazaridis and Balsille would remain co-CEOs, a single chairman would take their place on the board of directors.

What are your thoughts? Would this be a good move for RIM? Sound off in the comments!

i have a blackberry bold 9700 and honestly the only thing that keeps me attached to it is my own problem with change once used to something and the fact that bbm reminds me of my old high school middle school days when aim was the way to keep in touch, find joints to smash, parties etc. I'm actually starting to get a little bored with it considering the fact for me to access nike talk i have to attempt a thousand times due to its elementary browser

got the new bold. i think its a 9300. i like it.

not a fan of other touch screen phones and this touchscreen is very limited. i will be checkin this thread here and there to see ways i can utilize my phone more.

also, a big prob the new Bold had was the battery was not as good...i agree but thinkin about it, for whatever reason my battery life is much better.

Haters!

.  I really want to get the 9930, but I keep slacking on getting one.  BestBuy has it for $199.99 and it comes with the charging dock here.

Had a Blackberry Pearl when they released and a 8900 when it came to T-mobile but now that Canadian company is just behind the times. I would love to see a modern Blackberry thats as good as a Windows Mobile, Iphone or Andriod

Usage of Apple’s iOS platform and Google’s Android operating system both declined between November and December as BlackBerry and Symbian both showed gains. Despite huge activations over the holidays, new data released by analytics firm Net Applications shows that Internet usage of iOS on Apple’s iPhone and iPad displayed the sharpest decline in December, dropping to 52.10% from 54.04% in November. Google’s Android platform on smartphones and tablets dipped less than half a point to 16.29% in December but it stayed in the No.3 spot as Java ME gained more ground, climbing to a 21.27% share last month. Also showing usage gains in December were RIM’s BlackBerry platform, up to 3.51% from 3.18% in November, and Symbian, which climbed to 5.76% from 5.27% a month earlier. A chart outlining Net Applications’s data follows below.

As I look on craigslist.....I do see people wanting to trade their iPhones for Blackberry 9900s in the past couple weeks. Been trying to hunt one down for a good price......

Blackberry's are still used quite a bit in the world of business. Banging out extensive emails on an Iphone is a no go and receiving email is a nightmare. I haven't looked into Android.

But a tactile keyboard would be a must.

Pretty much all the higher ups where I work have one. A ton of cats I do biz with rock them. These dudes ain't about the hot new phone.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I'm about to scoop the 9900. Just been too crazy to get to AT&T.

I've played around with it. Seems solid to me.

Yup businesses still use em as they are great for receiving emails and such.  Bad thing is most BBs still in use are bought for this sole reason.  I use a BB at work.  My personal phone is an iPhone though

Currently on the SG2 but wishing for the 9900 every day. I miss the keyboard!

No one can deny they make the best keyboard phones out there. I rolled (loved the trackball) with Blackberry for 6 years until i gave in and bought the iPhone 4S. It's unfortunate RIM couldn't keep up with the other phone makers. I still have my 9700 to use when I'm overseas. Love texting on there.

owner of a 4G 9900.

amazing battery life. I get my school work done at work etc. I dont ask for much but long life and im good with this one.

I had a 9700 Bold, was probably the best phone I ever used until they updated the OS to a software too advanced for the phone's memory to handle. It kept crashing and freezing every time I tried to used the browser.

I have the 3G Torch now as a replacement but the battery dies too quickly lol. I've had 3 Blackberrys so far.

My contract ends on Jan 26th, I might just go ahead and get the iPhone 4s.

I have a Nokia E7. I've looked at blackberrys but I can't deal with that screen size. If I find one for the low I wouldn't mind using it as a backup phone.
