Official Blackberry OS/Device Thread

does anyone in the nyc are a boost blackberry ?

i have the most terrible service there is

sometimes i get a incoming call and the damn phone does not ring only lights up

i am in the lower Manhattan area and i was told i was in a bad cell site

does anyone else on here have a boost phone and lives in Manhattan have this same problem ?

i have reached sprint corporate office and about my problems since i got the phone and these people cant do a damn thing for me

i have a B.S. boost chirp phone & never had this problem

i had a sprint phone for 9 years and never had this problem also (one of the reasons i went with boost was I though a easy change over from boost to sprint thats another story)

i got a obama phone that's on sprint and its works great

i have the flip style 9670
when the phone does not give me this problem i am happy with it

also boost has the worst and i mean the worst customer service i have ever had to deal with

when i call to speak to customer service its like i'm either calling mexico or the Philippians and i cant understand one damn word there saying when there speaking English

AVOID BOOST BLACKBERRY IF YOUR IN THE MANHATTAN AREA
I LOSE MONEY WHEN MY PHONE DOES NOT RING !!!!!

SORRY FOR THE RANT BUT IF YOU HAD TO GO THOUGH THE CRAP I WENT THROUGH WITH BOOST YOU WOULD FEEL THE SAME WAY

got a playbook... love everything about it except for the OS... if that update never ends upcoming out ill need to jailbreak it... the fact that this tab cant extract a rar file is amazingly bad... i need androzip for this so badly...
RIM reportedly intends to license BlackBerry software to Samsung, HTC and others
Research In Motion is reportedly working toward a major transition that will see the company begin licensing its BlackBerry software to third-party vendors including Samsung and HTC. In a recent research note, Jefferies & Company analyst Peter Misek wrote that his checks confirmed earlier reports that Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie will soon be removed from their roles as co-chairmen. The analyst says current board member Barbara Stymiest is indeed the front-runner to replace the pair, and he calls her one of the top executives in Canada.

^I hope they aren't gonna license out BBM.  I guess I could see how licensing BB10 to HTC and Samsung would get more developers for BlackBerry, but they're essentially going to faze out BlackBerry phones.  These two idiots are already driving the company into the ground, she's gonna finish it off if she licenses out BB 10

.

Their best bet is to have one full touch phone, the bold, and either make the torch w/ the slide keyboard cheaper and/or the curve.  Just focus on 3-4 phones, no pearl, no full-touch torch without the keyboard, none of that +%%*.  BB 10 is already pretty solid, they could add a Siri variant and just make the hardware/os better, ie: better cameras, better graphics, smoother scrolling, ect.  If they can get the android player working on the phones then they'll have a good ecosystem to work with.  If the really want to get developers they should think about lending out playbooks/phones to colleges and allow students to create apps with them.  At my school, there's an app inventor class for android and it's pretty easy to work with, so I don't see why BB can do the same thing...

I think that's already in the works. There was talk of it sometime last year. It'd be a basic version without all the functions you'd find on a BB device.

I'm debating on the getting the 9900 still
laugh.gif

Thought I made up my mind........hard to give up the 4S so easily.....

Anyway, can you get Meebo and Citibank app on the 9900

I have a 4s but I wouldn't mind having a 9900 for a extra phone
I'm not giving up one for the other tho

been using blackberrys for 4+ years...and just a few days ago i bought myself a white iphone 4s, and i couldnt be happier

i waited for SO long for the 9900 to drop for AT&T, and i really wanted it, but when i went to check it out, i wasn't even all that impressed (coming from a 9700)

i dont see myself going back to BB

I'm telling you, the 9900 is sick as hell. As for switching, I can tell you everyone I know who switched to iPhones from BB laments losing the functionality of a BB as a communication device. I know one person who isn't even into apps and he's about to go back to BB. He can't stand the iPhone.

What it boils down to, is if you're into the bells and whistles of the app and game world, get an iPhone, Android, whatever. If you're not into that stuff, BB is better as a communication device. Plain and simple.

I said the same thing until I upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus. I had the Tour as well and it did a decent job.

This......
Does anybody know if Meebo or Citibank work with the 9900?

I'm still rocking the 9650...

It works when I need it to in terms of messaging...but it sucks doing everything else.

Internet, games, apps, maps...

But i'll be damned if it isn't reliable.

I am in process of leaving BB for a 4s. I had the OG bold 9000. The last of the trackball. Had to upgrade. The battery life was only about 5 hours and that was on standby! Was going to wait for the 5 but couldn't . Was there for the height of BB and even had tons of RIMM stock. Foresaw the downfall and sold but kept the BB. Will always miss the BBM but life goes on...

Torch owner here. The phone, as well as RIM, are way behind their competition, but I just use my phone to text (I definitely prefer physical keyboard over touch), call, check email, google search something real fast on the go, and Twitter. It does these jobs well for me, though the phone lags sometimes. But when my contract is up in November, I'm probably switching to Android if there's a good smartphone with a physical keyboard just to keep up with the time.

Also a PlayBook owner (got it during the $199 sale). No complaints here, and definitely worth it imo. I actually prefer the PlayBook over the iPad, which I have used a lot. Limited Apps but it has those that I need. The UI is amazing.

Physical keyboard is nice on the bb. I'm not to sure if android has any good keyboards out there.

Do they have Google Voice for Blackberry? Set up the same way as the iPhone as far as being a separate app and getting separate notifications and phone calls?

I'm trying to get rid of my ipad for a 64gb playbook if I can because I'd like to tether my BB to use 3G on the playbook instead of wi-fi only, which is what my ipad is

Yeah, there's a google voice, but idk if the setup is the same: http://www.google.com/mobile/voice/ and here's meebo: http://www.meebo.com/blackberry/.  As for a citi bank app, I don't there is one, but if they have a mobile site then you can just use that...

I'm telling you, sick phone. The only people I know who left BB and are happy are people who are into apps and games. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is into that frivolous stuff.

Did you migrate over from the iPhone?
