*USA Basketball* WOMEN EARN GOLD v. ESP (101-72)! MEN EARN GOLD v. SRB (96-66)!

 a slightly better version of Thomas Robinson. Y'all are either super high or guys or they're terrible. No in between.

T Robinson Per 36: 13ppg 13rpg 45% from field 1.8apg - 2.7TO

Julius Randle Per 36: 14ppg 13rpg 43% from the field 2.3apg - 2.3 TO

They have similar skill sets and profiles:

Been saying this for the longest.

Outside of being short armed power forwards that struggle to finish against length, how? Randle's offensive game is much different than Robinson's:

If the season ended in mid December....it's a plunge from there

I'm not ready to assume that happens again. Three years ago he had some off court stuff that seemed to impact him a bit. Then he got injured. I'm going to figure last season maybe he got fatigued after the hot start because he had sat out a year. This might be the year he keeps it up for the whole season.

Yes we like Nance, but it isn't just because of the flashy dunks. He does the little things. And shoots 3s now. And then on top of that he dunks on people. Randle doesn't do any of those yet. His approach to the game just fits with D'Angelo and Clarkson better than Randle at this point. Nance deserves PT.

I agree that Randle's ceiling could be higher than Draymond's, but the reason it isn't is, again, because of his approach. He thinks he's a star but he actually isn't that talented. Draymond still has the mindset of a role player, he'll do the dirty work but he's also pretty talented. Also, Draymond works as a small ball 5 because he defends all 5 positions, rebounds, and can shoot the 3. Again, Randle can't do any of those yet, except for rebound.

He's still young but he has to change his mindset.

Really good post. The 2nd paragraph is so on point. Also, comparing Shannon Brown to Nance isn't very smart. Brown was an athletic wing on a team with no athletic wings (besides Kobe). Nance does soooo much more than just being athletic. Setting good screens, defensive iq, pick & rolls, etc.

Nance is going to be really good, he's already a + defender and keeps working on his offense.

He's a perfect small ball center, lower ceiling than Randle but way higher floor.

Say what you want about Shannon Brown but in his prime, he was jumping out the gym.

He was an amazing athlete, too bad he didn't have the matching skill set.

I'm asking how it is similar to Robinson's?

Randle can score off the dribble and go coast to coast, call me the next time you see Thomas Robinson do either of those things.

Not to mention that Randle is 21 and Robinson is 25.

Per synergy, Julius shot 32% on spot ups, 32% in the post, and 37% on isos and 60% in transition.

I don't know what he does good outside of rebounding. And of course he can improve because he's young but he doesn't seem like he can hang his hat on anything in particular. His jump shot mechanics might prevent him from ever being a serviceable shooter

The numbers are bad I'm not disagreeing but if he can just improve his finishing ability and continue to max out his body, he has a high ceiling.

He either needs to rebuild his shot or just give up on shooting.

How is Randle's game "that much different". Let's look at the offensive similarities.

-Both have trouble finishing over length
-Both are excellent rebounders
-Both are turnover prone
-Both score off of 2nd chance pts
-Both can't shoot outside the paint
-Both can grab the board and run
-Both don't have post games...and rely on brute strength to finish inside

Now tell me how their offensive games are "different"

Nah man. T rob can go coast to coast. That was one of his "strengths"...he's a better ball handler than Randle actually. Here are his DX "Strenghts"....when he came out.

I'll time stamp it for you so you don't have to click through. Just watch from 3:45 on.

And I'm not comparing age...I'm just giving a comparrison based on skillsett and profile.

Please no more Robinson videos. I was convinced he was going to be good. His story still hits me. :\

You showing me college clips g.

I've never seen Robinson go coast to coast in the league but I have seen Randle do it.

Robinson was helping bring up he ball in summer league because jimmer couldn't blow by full court pressure. That was the beginning of the end

Here you go. Literally the 2nd clip in the video below

I wouldn't brag about Julius Randle's "Coast to coast" ability...more often than not...it ends up bad.

Did you miss the part where I said you showing me college clips?

He hasn't done it in the NBA, I'm supposed to care about clips from 2012?

I still remember Thomas Robinson's first Summer League til this day...and til this day I use his grabbing the rebound and going coast to coast thinking he's LeBron turning the ball over every time as a measuring stick to tell what guys are going to have problems in the league
