Played in the 8.0s a few times now, here's my review.
Overall, they're a good performance shoe. The Max Air felt extra cushy, the cross-straps provided great midfoot lockdown. The materials on the sockliner and ankle area are super soft and comfy. Traction was good, nothing special, but good. Plenty of herringbone all over the outsole. The biggest issue I had with this shoe is heel lockdown. I constantly felt my heel sliding upward when jumping and changing direction. It wasn't an issue of fit, as my foot didn't move laterally, but I never felt completely secure thanks to the lack of support for the heel. Therefore the ankle support of the shoe was very iffy.
Breathability was pretty subpar. One thing I've noticed is that the white colorways have a Skinwire material on part of the upper, while the black-based colorways (Playoffs, Black/White, Aquas) have a mesh-Flywire material instead. Either way (I have the Playoffs), ventilation is not great. The shoe also is not nearly as heavy as it looks. Obviously if you're used to playing in Kobes, Hyperdunks, Hyperfuse, etc. they might feel bulky, but they felt pretty light on my feet.
