Houston Texans Pre-Season 2014 - NT Bowl 2.5...Battle For Roster Spots

If true, Arian Foster is letting me down. I liked his whole vibe and desire to be different, unique. The message and lessons he was passing to his daughter. Seeing his mom struggle growing up. Proving the Vols fans wrong after the fumble backlash.

More men should realize your role as a father is inextricably linked to your performance and duties as a husband.

What message does infidelity send to your daughter when she's old enough to recognize and realize the facts?

IIRC his daughter is not with his wife. I'm not sure though. Too lazy to google it.

Man, regardless I'm disappointed. Cliche but I thought Arian was a different breed of athlete.

Not only unfaithful but dumb enough to get caught and also knock up a mistress gold digger.

Wouldn't mind Manziel honestly at this point. I was afraid of opening that link and it said "Texans trade 2nd round pick for Ryan Mallett and Matt Slater"

I like Manziel but don't think you spend the #1 pick on him. A lot of what made him great in college he won't get away with in the pros...If you are taking a QB #1 Bridgewater is the most NFL ready.

most NFL ready, but ready to do what? be average? IMO, manziel has the higher ceiling because of his physical tools

Speed/quickness, agility in space. He has a much better arm than people give him credit for

Outside of the arm...All of which will get him KILLED in the NFL. You think he's faster than Kaepernick...or more agile than Newton or Wilson in space...? Even if you say yes all those guys throw from the pocket 10 times more than they run around. If dude tries to run around like he did in college dude won't last 3 games let alone a season.

I don't understand why people think Johnny is gonna run around in the NFL like he did in college. He knows he would get popped.

Johnny is a very good passer from the pocket, and if you don't believe that, you just haven't watched him enough.

The point is that he can extend play in the pocket just like Wilson, and he is a threat to run when the play allows a lot that. I just don't understand why people want to knock him because he is mobile and can run.

I went back and watched games from his second year and dude looks to extend plays after his read is done.

It's not take off and go.

Exactly. It's incredible how much he progressed as a passer from his first game.

So if we're playing Indy next year and Robert Mathis is breathing down his neck y'all trust him to climb the pocket and make throws? Because that's exactly what LSU & Mizzou did last year and he couldn't do it.

LSU played him very well this year and last. They had the best defensive scheme against him, and their players were actually able to execute the game plan.

Johnny was hurt against Missouri this year and should not have even played IMO. The beginning of that game was cringe worthy on how limited her was throwing the ball.

I don't trust many QBs in the situation you laid out lol

if robert mathis is breathing down any QBs neck, i probably don't trust any of them to climb the pocket

all QBs take sacks, and all QBs learn where to move in the pocket with reps. he's been successful in college just running around, but i've seen him sit in the pocket and light it up too.

Everything should be cool for any of these QBs as long as Derek Newton isn't the one who has to protect them.

I'm always reminded how out of touch the media is when it comes to Houston sports (same goes for NT as well) when I was certain shows and listen to certain stations. I've been hearing stuff like "The Texans really don't need to draft a QB, Matt Schaub just had a down year and was recently in the pro bowl, and they still have a young guy in Chase Keenum." That's not a misspelling from me either. Chase Keenum, Adrian Foster, and JJ White...that's how much the media knows about Houston sports in a nutshell. Did they not see Schaub last year? That's not a "down year", that's a fall off and more of the future instead if an aberration. This team needs a QB, badly.

If yall dont draft Clowney yall are stupid.

Him and JJ Watt is better than ANY rookie QB you can put on that team

You do know defense wins championships right?  Yall trying to win or sell tickets?

Clowney and Watt will be on the field for 40 plus minutes as long as the QB situation stays in a hamster wheel like it is. Seattle didn't build the defense in 1 season with 1 person.
