Texans having a good draft.

I don't like how Mallett to Houston keeps being swept under the rug, the put in the limelight. Just saw something scroll on the ticker that said if Mallett is traded here, his contract would "include a 1 year extension" :x

3 of the 4 picks are immediate starters. i'm not sure about the TE just because we already have 2, but i'm sure he'll get on the field

I seen that same **** about Mallet Peep :x :smh:

It's contingent on that extra year is what it sounds like to me..
If we can get him for one of our 6th then I'm not even trippin its not bad at all. HE'LL NO to a 4th or 5th tho

I'm actually growin on our picks and really like the way Rick and Bill have done so far.
Clowney and ole boy are starting off the bat on the Oline and Dline

So what we lookin at on Oline should prolly be something like D.Brown, Xavier, Myers, Brooks, Quessenberry is my pick at RT or maybe Williams from UNC
Nix prolly takes over also and was great value this dude if he stays healthy is gonna be a ************* BEAST :pimp: :pimp:
Only thing that worries me is his injury history :smh: hopefully he gets his body right and doesn't have any major issues

CJ is a pick that didnt get much love but dude is gonna step in day one and should be the #2 right off the bat he could even pass up graham down the line
He's gonna help our horrible red zone offense tremendously imo
Right plays need to be calle and made of course tho
He's gon turn some heads :pimp: :pimp:

I still think we're getting Mallet but also grabbing a project QB late in the draft (Murray, McCarron) and build him up.

There's really no point in expecting a late drafted quarterback to be good. History has shown that.

DE Jeoffery Pagan from Bama and RB Alfred Blue from LSU, iiiiiinteresting. I'm loving the D-Line rebuild.

Our defensive line looks like pagan nix watt from left to right.

Linebackers: Clowney Reed Cushing Mercilus.

Lonnie Ballentine

6'3, 220, Ran the 40 in 4.39 and 4.45. 33 inch arms with 18 reps of 225. 38 inch vertical and he graduated in 3 years. Dude is an athletic freak

Thanks for those last updates. Been out and up for almost 24 hours and I'm debating on whether to even go to sleep since I'll just roll over at 8am anyway.

We seemed to not only address a lot of needs, but picked up immediate impact players. This is definitely the start of a new era here, and I can actually say I'm excited for the season after relative uncertainty beforehand.

Houston Texans draft wrap-up

Best move: The Texans' selection of South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was a no-brainer. Contrary to pre-draft rumblings, they didn't give Clowney advance warning they would be selecting him first overall. He even got nervous as the minutes ticked down while the Texans were on the clock. They waited until three minutes remained in their time to call him and tell him the news. Clowney's ability, both physically and mentally, made him the right pick for the Texans. They'll make him an outside linebacker, which will be a transition, but will use him in a lot of different ways. They needed outside pass-rush help, and, regardless of need, Clowney was the best player they could have taken.

Riskiest move: The Texans didn't take many risks. They stuck to their board, almost stubbornly so, and stayed with players who fit the description of what they've sought. They didn't take any players with character risks. They did take two players whose injury histories might have impacted where they were drafted in Alfred Blue and Jeoffrey Pagan, so I suppose those constitute the biggest risks. Blue tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in 2012 after starting the season as LSU's starting running back ahead of Jeremy Hill, who was drafted in the second round. Pagan had shoulder surgery, which prevented him from being able to work out at the combine. His combine experience was more about the medical evaluation, but he feels he could have raised his stock by showing what he could do athletically.

Most surprising move: It was a bit of a surprise the Texans waited until the fourth round to take a quarterback. General manager Rick Smith acknowledged at the end of Friday's Rounds 1 and 2 that there was still another need they hadn't addressed. Three quarterbacks went in the first round -- Blake Bortles third to Jacksonville, Johnny Manziel 22nd to Cleveland and Teddy Bridgewater 32nd to Minnesota. Two more, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo, went in the second round, and none went in the third round. The Texans had Tom Savage graded in the fourth round and took him there.

File it away:
The Texans got bigger on defense. At 6-foot-5, 266 pounds, Clowney is bigger than any outside linebacker currently on their roster. Louis Nix III, the Notre Dame nose tackle the Texans traded up to get, is 6-foot-2, 331 pounds, making him one of the heaviest players on defense. Pagan is 6-foot-3, 310 pounds. Safety Lonnie Ballentine, "Mr. Irrelevant," is the tallest safety the Texans have at 6-foot-3. The Texans staff will be molding some of these guys' bodies to what they're looking for, but they have a good starting point with most of them. Smith said after the draft the Texans got bigger and tougher. It was a goal of theirs, and it's something to monitor as the offseason melds into the season. How will that added size and toughness translate onto the field?

Missed day 3 of the draft but looking over it I was kinda disappointed with the Blue pic :smh:
Storm Johnson was still on the board they should have gon with him sinc he's shown production and is nice

Either way I really like The way our draft went besides the blue pick and I'm not too high on Savage either

Beefing up the front :pimp: :pimp:

I feel like the other DE spot is still in question. I like Crick so hopefully he takes that nezt step and is solid, I'd like to see him get in that startin spot show what he can do :pimp:
ILB depth or if Reed doesn't play as well is also a position we need guys to step up at
And not to mention our secondary :x

I feel like last yet alot of the problems were that we always usually only rushed 4 so if they didnt get there QB had a ton of time and our pass rush last year was nonexistent except for Watt or ninja
Still tho nickel CB is gonna be a big thing to look out for. Hoping B Harris can take over and solidify that spot

I think its June 1st when teams have to make cuts so that'll be another good option for us to maybe snag another couple of players that could help us out

We have the first waiver claim position for all cuts. I'd have to imagine we add some impactful cap casualties.
