R Kelly is a better artist
Kells got more dimensions to his style
but at the same time they are 2 different artist
but Kelly's body of work is alot more accomplished compared to d'angelo
plus he has produced for so many artist
they are not in the same league

Voodoo to me genius, pure unadulterated genius, I don't throw that around lightly, so R. Kelly (who I love) Is not really operating in the same stratosphere as this guy.

I just came to say that Voodoo is one of the best albums ever.
The vocals/production/engineering/songwriting are just supreme, it makes me insecure about my own *#%# lol.
I really hope he goes through with the new album, Quest is right, we really do need him.

What's crazy about D'Angelo is that his music is still awesome till this day. I still listen to both his albums in the whip on a regular basis.

Dude did have 12 years (since Vodoo was released) to hone his guitar playing skills. The GQ vid confirms he's got some skills on the guitar. If I were a manager in the industry, I'd put together a tour with him & Gary Clark Jr.

His third album, whenever it drops, will be EPIC. What I love about the guy is that he doesn't put out crap music. There is an actual PURPOSE behind what he does.
I seriously urge everyone who's a fan of his to read the GQ article. His hiatus makes a lot of sense.
