I personally don't mind if nubuck is used instead of durabuck.  The difference between the two isn't all too significant too me, they're similar enough to each other.  If suede or leather was used, then that would be a problem.  The shape is definitely acceptable in my book.  I just wish that the materials used are actually decent when they release and don't come out of the box dusty, ashy, with pre-creases, or with excess glue.

Goin in for two pair. I wonder if the tongue will be as tall as the reds or how their supposed to be like all the other IVs?

This is why nubuck sucks. It looks horrible after while, and makes the shoe look cheap. *not my picture*

And te thing that makes me sad is that im going to eventually give in and cop strictly off of nostalgia and iconic og color blocking despite the horrific nubuck. *sigh*

The nubuck on these was low quality in the first place. Can't compare these to another release.

These are more like the black metallic V's or Cav IV's

incredible, can't wait to cop, but in the main pic they look like they might come in creased a bit, like the recent IV's that came out, hopefully that's just a bug

^Big reason why I couldn't keep my pair.  That material is basura.  I'll just wait til 2014 and hope they use the correct materials this time.  If not, oh well.  Not settling for crap.
 
cdps came in yesterday, i might still grab these but theyll be in the closet for a while, material is a letdown
copped the 6s because i didnt want a pair of 2000s that would crumble soon, passed on metallic 5s because i can grab an 06 pair
in a couple years these will be retroed again with the correct materials(charcoal 7s) and a couple years after that they will retro them with nike air(banned 1)

That's probably the most frustrating part, they can give us the correct materials on the VII's, but they drop the ball on a good chunk of their collector's grails (Black Cement IVs, Metallic V's, Infrared VI's to name a few).  Trollin hard.  Thank god I still have my Metallic V's from 2007.  At least that's one decent, wearable pair of one of my all time favorite shoes.  I tried to accept the VI's, but it go to the point where I completely forgot I even had them.

Guess we'll see how long I can deal with these.  If worse comes to worse I'll hunt down a pair of 99's and sole swap.

That does look pretty bad, but I'm not sure if whoever owns those 6s actually ever cleaned them.  Doesn't seem like anything that a nubuck/suede brush and eraser kit can't fix though.

difference is durabuck is ALOT easier to clean..once these cook its a wrap.

Possibly easier to clean, pretty subjective case right there.  However, there is no doubting that Durabuck is a synthetic material, whereas nubuck originates from the outside layer of a cow's hide.  Then again, knowing JB, I doubt they even use real hides in their products anymore.  As long as these 4s don't feature a furry texture and doesn't come pre-scratched/ashy, it's all good.  Durabuck or nubuck, as long as it has that smooth, velvet-like texture, I'm happy.
