Official Authentic OTHER Sports Jersey Post Vol. Not NBA

@sixburgh   @infamoss    @ROBPZEE612  I'm searching for some wilson, russell and/or champion era jerseys. I'm having trouble deciphering whats a replica vs an authentic. So I have been judgin by nameplates on the back. Is it safe to assume nameplate on back = authentic whether number are screened on  or not. Or is there another tip you guys can give to tell the difference ?

^ I really hope they go all out for the 100th year like they did for the 75th but I doubt it. NFL is no fun, barely even wear throwbacks.

That Aikman is great. I prefer the fit of M&N over Nike Elite.
Yeah, I have to agree.  There's something a bit off on the fit of the Elite.  I like the tailored fit of the Elite, but the jersey is so damn rigid, not very comfortable.  I actually prefer the Reebok authentic I bought back in 2011 over the Elite.

Pro Cut RBKs are the best. Would take those over Elite's easily.

Older RBK is nice. Their 05-11 run is awful, smallest was a 46 and that **** fit like a 52.

The nameplates mean nothing.

Champion authentics are pretty easy to spot, but there aren't many out there.

Usually the replicas are sized numerically, 44, 48, etc. & the authentics alphabetically, S, M, L. But there are exceptions.

I would say look at the back numbers though, if they are the same shape in the front & back it's a replica, if the back numbers are vertically "stretched" like the pics below it's authentic.

You see what I'm saying?

@sixburgh  So for reference this Barry jersey is a Replica even though it has a numerical size and nameplate right. The numbers appear to be the same size on the front and back. And thanks for the reply. I'm thrown off because most have numerical sizes but screened names with no nameplates.

The numerical sizing shouldn't have thrown you off. Maybe you misunderstood my previous post, but that's what I said, numerical = replica when talking Champions.

As far as the screen printing goes, replicas were all screened, but so were plenty of authentics.

Actually, you're not going to find an authentic champion Barry because they didn't make the Lions on field jerseys.

How about this, here's a quick guide to B.Sanders jerseys:

1989 & 1990 Sand-Knit   Large, X-Large sizing = replica  44, 48 = authentic (opposite of Champion)   You're probably not going to find one though

1991-1993 Wilson  NFL shield on collar = authentic   These are the most common. Some will have the NOB (name on back) some won't.

1994 Apex One    I'm not sure I've ever even seen one, don't bother

All of the above were screen printed, the following years would be twill numbers.

1995-1998 Reebok  The jocktag will read "Pro Line Authentic".  If you happen to see a white one please let me know. They aren't particularly rare or anything, I just recently decided I would like to have one & haven't come across it yet.

Happy Hunting

Nice Dunn btw. He & Alstott made a great "thunder & lightning" style combo.

Last year Sports Authority had a blue Eli on sale for $125 on Black Friday or Christmas. Just keep checking the thread because the sales happen, not often.

I havent seen nfl.com go lower than 20% off, which sucks. I've noticed that ever since fanatics.com partnered with the nfl, the nfl shop has become very tight on discounts

The exception is if you wanted a traded player, those sometimes can be bought for 200 or less

They dropped elite jets tebows to $60 and i still passed

Seems like there's a lot of Bucs fans in the thread, so I wanted to share my favorite NFL jersey in my collection. No PM's please I am keeping this one forever lol. 1996-1997 Mike Alstott Creamsicle jersey.

The Bucs only wore stitched creamsicles in 95-96 (Russell)/96-97 (Wilson). The Bucs switched to their red color-scheme in 97/98.

Yea there is never big discounts on current players. Maybe 20% off and I don't think that happens too much
Only times there's deals Is on traded players or crap player jerseys. When Suh was still with the lions before even last season nfl shop had his jersey for like $120 for months and that was for the elite
