No problem @DHD28

Just ordered the correa Houston alt from MLB Shop sale. Looking forward to it despite the 7-10 days handling.

can someone school me on the nhl jerseys?

lookin to buy one off fanatics but i dont think they have the legit authentic ones.

they have premier. the authentic is the EDGE jersey correct?

and how do either/both fit?

i had a sick collection of the starter jerseys as a kid but havent really bought any since.

The patch on the front of the Premier jerseys is the same as the authentic ones I think. The shoulder patches are screenprinted single-layer twill similar to a Swingman. The other distinguishing thing is the jock tag on the Premiers which the authentics don't have. Think some local mom and pop stores can do the authentic names and numbers on a replica so it is very similar. I know of somewhere in Buffalo that can do this so I assume other areas with hockey teams might do too.

I will do my best to simplify a very complicated matter:

There are 3 levels of Authentics: the IndoEDGE (known as 'Indo' 7237), the 1.0 (7187), & the 2.0 (7287)

Indos (Made in Indonesia) are advertised and sold by the NHL Store as 'Authentic' but no NHL player has ever worn an Indo. (The NHL Store or other online retailers will often use a stock photo that does NOT show the bright green collar). The materials and cut and lettering are not true to what the players on ice. Collectors/Hobbyists hate Indos. They retail for $350 & are subpar to the on ice jerseys. You can identify Indos with the bright green label along the collar:

1.0 & 2.0 On Ice jerseys are Made in Canada. Long and tapered sleeves. 1.0s were introduced in 2007 but by Jan 2008 the NHL switched over to 2.0. Ebay is your best bet for these. For 1.0 & 2.0s, all size 48 jerseys are fake. You can distinguish a 1.0 by this tag (& the vector logo on the back)

2.0s are what the players wear on ice. Wide & short sleeves. All 2.0s will read '7187' on the tags & have the 'Reebok' wordmark on the back. What differentiates them are the different materials on the jersey. If you like a popular player You may be able to find an accurately lettered jersey on eBay. the only way to get a more obscure player is by buying a blank & researching who letters the jersey for the team (official customized) & sending it in to get done, like I did here with this Toews:

You can get legit 2.0s from www.icejerseys.com or www.rivercitysports.com. There are other sites but these are the only ones I go to.

If you don't care about the little details, then just buy a Premier (7185) ... It is equivalent to a Nike Limited Football jersey. Screen printed logos that are sewn and heat pressed.

Hope this helps.

@DHD28  thanks for the tutorial on NHL jerseys I too have been interested in buying some but have no knowledge on them. Repped

@MikeGasol  Here is a pic of my Dez Elite jersey my tag is much lower than yours, however mines is a first year elite jersey so not sure if that makes a difference

The ironic thing about buying new authentic nhl jerseys is that nhl.com doesnt have them and ebay does. Besides a few online retailers, seller jerseybaron on ebay has the largest selection of 2.0s. He even gets obscure 1-off jerseys...not sure how but he does.

The drawback is he charges retail/above retail. But for some jerseys he is the only source.
