Just found about this and the honors show. Whoever came up with these ideas is very savvy. This is how all sports should do it. Big events. Not lame press announcements.

NASCAR and NHL have been doing this for a long while.

I don't like the Hall of Fame procedure for pro sports...some guys on the list should be in the Hall of Fame already. Is there a limit in a year? So these prestige awards is in integrity? It's ridiculous if a certain person have to wait for years until there is a weak year of competition to be inducted. I understand that not everybody is worthy of 1st ballot Hall of Fame, but if a person has to wait over five years it's too long.
