Its crazy Eli might well be on his way to the HOF and just before the season started people were questioning if he is even one of the best QBs in the league

or how about all those years of people saying he was a terrible QB and NY should get rid of him..

i vividly remember a 2007 regular season game against the Vikings where he threw a ton of interceptions and afterwards all the analysts were talking about how garbage he was, the media has been kind to Sanchez compared to the treatment Eli used to get. then he went on to win the SB and the rest was history. i'm not even a Giants fan, but i've never seen a player let his game speak for itself more than Eli.
add Coughlin to this as well... weird dynamic. both under-appreciated/owed apologies from years back. Hell, Coughlin still seems to get minimal love now.

Don't get it twisted, he still has some work to do. He'll need similar production as this past season for another couple years to seal it.

Coughlin is rarely ever credited as an elite coach, yet has won 2 SBs from underdog roles playing mainly road games. it's crazy..

2 Super Bowl MVPs

Most 4th quarter touchdowns in a season

Most postseason road wins as a QB

He's a HOF'er

Big Ben:

Career QB rating: 92

Career yards : 26,579

Avg: 8.02

TDs: 165

Super bowl wins: 2

Super bowl appearances: 3

2004 Rookie of the year

4th highest winning percentage all time at over 70%

Youngest super bowl winner in history

Most wins by a player in his first two seasons in the league.

record for most consecutive wins to start a career.

He gets it done. If you don't like him as a person thats a different thing but hes a warrior. Broken nose, broken hand, broken foot will still play.

Eli Manning:

Career QB rating: 82.1

Career yards: 27,579

Avg: 7.03

TDs: 185

INTs: 129 Fumbles :50

2 super bowl titles

Games he told the Chargers he wouldnt play in: Career

The numbers arent leaps and bounds over each other so lets not get caught in the moment but yes Eli is a great young star in this league

Edit: To be fair I don't knowthat Ben even though going to 3 super bowls and winning two is a Hall of famer right now but the only QB's to go to 3 super bowls are Aikman (HOF), Griese (HOF), Tarkenton (HOF), Kurt Warner and Big Ben. I don't believe Kurt Warner is eligible yet but I think he's in the HOF for sure. Every QB who has started 4 or more besides brady who will be a first ballot member are in the hall of fame
Why did you list Manning's turnovers but not Roethlisberger's? Btw, Big Ben has 100 Int's and 54 Fumbles. So he turns the ball over at about the same rate...

Lets not forget he's a two time SB MVP to zero for Big Ben.

Eli>Ben.
Spoiler [+]
Montana>Brady

Ben has a ways to go to catch Eli. he was looking like Trent Dilfer in his first Super Bowl.. they won off the defense/running game.

Yes

2 SB wins and 2 MVPs
Has almost every Giants record for QBs
Set record for 4th quarter TDs this year
Has the most road or neutral postseason wins

Yes

I think so... As long as he keeps putting together good seasons he'll be set. Doesn't even have to be SB runs, just good regular season & some more solid post season play.

This dude has another 2 rings in him. With him and coughlin getting hot at the right time u can never count this team out. I like the way he takes his sacks now instead of making a stupid throw that ends up intercepted

Why is Ben even mentioned with hate in the first place? He has nothing to do with this convo

However, as always people selectively remember XL and say Ben was 'Dilfer like' yet ignore the 3 playoff games where he was definitely 'unDilfer like'

As for this question, definitely on his way if things keep on rolling along. Doesn't need any more championships, just continued solid seasons

Eli shold be a lock, don't even need another ring just maybe a few more seasons where his TD to INT ratio is postive

Are there any career starting QB's who won 2 rings that aren't in the HOF?

Ultimately HoFers are compared to others of their respective position, no?

Brady, Peyton, Brees and Rodgers are 4 future locks.
Eli, Ben are the next level.

Maybe one day we'll argue Rivers, Stafford, and Killa Cam.
What about Vick does he ever get in?

Edit: only qb to not make with 2 rings is Jim Plunkett I believe.

not a snowballs chance in hell he does and I'm an Eagles fan. Even if he won a ring and had unreal stats, they'd never let him in because of the dogfighting

Sorry I have Eli ahead of his brother and Rodgers ATM. We base elite qbs on the rings and how they perform in the clutch.

Tim, I really like Eli but if he and Peyton both went up for HOF vote together, Peyton wins by a large margin. That's not to say Eli won't get in not that he doesn't deserve it. But Peyton is a lock even if he doesn't play another down. Eli (or anyone but Tom) isn't quite there yet

Saying hes ahead of Rodgers is one thing but if Eli and Peyton were up for induction in the same year then Peyton will be in first.

This. I think he needs to pad some stats a bit more for a first-ballot lock though.

THIS ... a couple more playoff wins and 5 more good years of 25 td and 15 int's and it's a lock. if dude has any 30 and 10 type seasons it's over ...

lol @ eli never getting any respect and now he' s at the moment a hall of famer ...

the order is

Manning
Brady
Rodgers
Brees
Eli

and all 5 of those guys with the ball are dangerous ... ain't nothing wrong w/ being at the bottom b/c many would take eli over big brother and maybe some of these other guys... eli is still improving, has age on his side and has a big brother he can continue to learn from

Its amazing how people go out their way to discredit this mans greatness... Absolutely Amazing.

When you look at his body of work and what he's had to work with, how anyone can say he's not top 3-5 EVER let alone better than his little brother is down right

Eli hads another 7 years or more to play with his core of young receivers. We don't know what's gonna happen with Peyton at this point. To me right now little brother has done way more with less than big brother. Way more clutch than big brother will ever be and now has another ring and will add a few more
