I see this term used here and there on the internet, and it's probably one of the dumbest trends I've seen on the net. I would be mad annoyed if some broad that I never see kept texting me throughout the day and we never got to the POINT!

This is exactly what it is and I'd be quite surprised if this hasnt happened to most people at least once. Its not a bad thing to have. Everyone needs at least 1 real friend, and that could easily be that 1 girl who you know that you'll never smash, and for a lot of dudes its easier to have real talk with a girl than with a dude

You do have a point though. Some times those girl-friends can be clutch at those times when you just need some understanding. But still I think the whole concept of texting buddy is so dumb. It's just a means to have someone to talk to just so you won't feel alone.
Slightly off topic: Internet relationships. For example Tumblr husband/wife

You never know if that one person is keeping that dude from flipping out and hurting himself or something. Put it this way, it happens here on NT all the time. People run here with their real life problems just so they can have someone who will listen, give advice, and not try and blow up their spot and embarrass them later.Originally Posted by SpeakUp23

Wow I just noticed how picky I am...Almost like 98% of the girls im friends with...I'm willing to smash. The 2% is like my friend's sisters... Its not that im a sex maniac but I just tend befriend girls that I find attractive :/ This seriously open my eyes... I gotta start knowing girls that I could just be friends with.

Not sure what a text buddy is.
But i have girls that are friends that i will text maybe once a week once every other week if i need a solid female opinion on something. Normally just want girl advice from a girl.
