Well naw, its different since everyone knew the Kings were for sale. Sacramento failed to get anything together until it was too late and now the NBA has come out and got Stern's way. 

The Maloofs are respectable businessmen and had a legitimate process of sale with tons of buyers interested. Everyone has known this for a long time. 

Would the Maloofs really deal in the dark or in shady secretive ways? Hell no.

Do the Maloofs have anything against Sacramento? Nope

Did the Maloofs take the deposit from Hansen in order to not negotiate with anyone? Nope, because since everyone knew the team was for sale people had already negotiated with the Maloofs.

The Maloofs probably didn't even need to sell the team, they have tremendous personal wealth. They are just wanted to sell to the Kings because Burkle didn't want to and Gavin Maloof never told him on TV cameras "To go back to where he came from and THE KINGS ARE NOT FOR SALE".

The Maloofs, NEVER once said the Kings are not for sale. EVER.

In fact, it was quite obvious that publically the Kings were explicitly on the market and for sale. Everyone knew this.

All Maloofing aside, justify it however you want yall.

If the Kings ever left, I'd probably be rooting to kidnap another team myself. But I'm not gonna stand around and claim innocence, I'll be wearing a sign on my face that tells everyone the hypocrisy behinds my action.

My rebutal: However, that doesn't make sense since Vivek is putting 50% into escrow... meaning that the offer is in fact good enough to proceed with.

Devils advocate: The NBA is just letting Sacramento, KJ, Vivek get that far only to let them down and allow Hansen to own the Kings in Sacramento.

The 7-0 recommendation likely ended the hopes of Seattle acquiring the Kings franchise, although Chris Hansen vowed not to give up, saying he would explore the "many options" available to him.

Well, it looks like we're starting to see the route Seattle is going to take. According to Reuters, Hansen and the Maloofs may try to convince the NBA Board of Governors to approve the sale of the Kings to Hansen's group anyway.

The idea, this source said, would be for Hansen to persuade NBA owners to support his efforts to buy the team, even if they do not immediately allow him to move it.

Under the NBA's rules, a decision to relocate a team is separate from a decision to sell a team. So under this scenario, the league could support its committee's recommendation against moving the Kings to Seattle, while still supporting the Hansen group's efforts to purchase it.

The league could require Hansen to work in good faith with the city of Sacramento to try to keep the team there, setting a deadline for the construction of a new arena and working to keep attendance high at the games.

But if the arena wasn't built according to the schedule, or if attendance slipped at the games, Hansen could apply again for permission to move the team - and it could be more likely to be granted, this source said.

In a brief phone conversation on Tuesday evening, Wolves owner Glen Taylor said he'll have a major announcement on the ownership front sometime in the next week.

When poked and prodded, the only other information he would volunteer was that it's a scenario that would never be guessed.

Taylor has had talks with Chris Hansen's Seattle group, but they want to move the Wolves to Seattle, and Taylor said that's not happening.

As for the future of coach Rick Adelman, Taylor said he doesn't yet what Adelman will do, but it "looks very favorable" for some sort of return. Taylor added that Adelman has kept him well-informed.

President of basketball operations David Kahn is scouting in Europe, according to Taylor. Asked if it was OK to make a leap on Kahn's future based on him continuing to work, Taylor said no.

When pressed if the NBA.com report about Flip Saunders taking over Kahn's duties was accurate, all Taylor would say is that no decision has been made yet. But in the same breath, Taylor said a decision would come by the end of the month.

That would be today.

Asked whether former Bulls and Lakers coach Phil Jackson was a part of any equation, Taylor said no comment.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett told The Business Journal in Milwaukee on Tuesday that the NBA's recommendation to block the Kings' move has placed more urgency on his city to build an arena. Media in Milwaukee have speculated that the Bucks could be targeted by Hansen and Ballmer if the Sacramento deal is denied.

"We need to be pro-active and get the Bucks to stay here," Barrett told The Business Journal's Rich Kirchen.

According to The Business Journal, both the Bucks and the NBA have said the team will leave Milwaukee after the 2016/17 season "unless a new arena is built" to replace the 25-year-old BMO Harris Bradley Center. So far, there has been little movement to construct a facility in that city.
