Bought the OG and variants to the Spider-Man #1 for $5 a couple years back :smokin

That led me to searching to buy Mcfarlane's ASM run, but the prices for those are ridiculous lol

i have the variants to that torment but I couldn't pass up on an older signature for $30

Finally checking the series out. This comic is so ******* good. Wish i'd started it sooner.
Starts off great, then gets a little pretentious and meta but now it looks like it's finishing strong.

Just finished the 18th trade, so i've gotten through the first 100 issues or so, and i'm still enjoying it so far. Said in on another forum, but Invincible, as a character, kind of reminds me of what Peter Parker might be like if he had Superman's basic power set. I've enjoyed the world they built, along with the support cast and villains. The situation with the Viltrumites is pretty interesting in itself, when, at the beginning, I was expecting to be annoyed at the Kryptonian knock offs. laugh.gif

Just missing one more key issue

The last time they did this we got Spider-Gwen and Gwenpool (who isn't even Gwen Stacy, good book though). I wonder if they'll do it again.

Is Planet Hulk/World War Hulk worth a blind buy? I seen the omnibus coming out soon nerd.gif

And speaking of omnibus, Marvel is playing by not releasing the whole Ultimate Spidey run. They got 4 volumes of Sang-Chi out, but sticking me with only 1 volume of USM mean.gif
post #4125 of 4221
Yes PH and WWH are worth it.

Yes, both are absolutely worth it and i'll probably be picking up both of those new omnibus collectiions myself. I just pre-ordered the Wonder Woman by George Perez Volume 2 Omnibus a few weeks back and i've been thinking about which omnibus I want to get next. Both DC and Marvel have a few nice collections coming out through the rest of the year.
I would re-buy PH/WWH in a hardcover collection if it wasn't oversized without hesitation. Not about that omnibus life. Deluxe Editions are okay sometimes. I bought the Batman: Death and the Maidens Deluxe Edition a couple months ago without even thinking about it being a deluxe. It's cool though. It's not one of those gigantic beasts. I got it for half price and now I have it in one book.

What I really want Marvel to release is The Vision in a single hardcover. nerd.gif

Meant to respond to the second part of your comment but completely forgot @DangerousG. It's a damn shame that Marvel hasn't released the entire Ultimate Spider-Man series in omnibus format yet and apparently has no plans to do so at the moment mean.gif Hate **** like that. Part of the reason I avoided ordering the first Wonder Woman by George Perez Omnibus for so long is because I wasn't counting on DC actually going through with this and creating a second one.

Late to the party but I just finished Unworthy Thor. The "secret" that made Thor become unworthy is dumb as ****.

Yeah they hyped it up so much that I thought it would be something really damaging, but it was nothing.

Worse than nothing, it was something Thor should've already realized if he wasnt naïve.

They recently revealed what he look's like and it's more than likely Odin

Still need to get back on Invincible, Jane Thor, DC Rebirth, Superman, Chinese Superman and Miles Spidey

Haven't finished CW II either. Loved the art but the plot was bugging me

Agreed.

I'm further annoyed by them just not giving him the Ultimate hammer at the end of the mini, instead choosing to continue dragging this thing on. The silver lining at least is that he seems to be done pitying himself and I have a feeling that Aaron's run will end with Thor getting the OG Mjolnir back.
Speaking of Unworthy Thor, Jays25, looks more like Thor is gonna share that book with Jane cuz this Ultimate Thor is about to get focus now too laugh.gif

How so?

You did read the God of Thunder series right? I feel like had this happened one arc after that series. more ppl would see the clear connection and that Aaron isn't done with that overall story.

To me story wise it makes sense but I wasn't expecting some grand reveal. Also makes sense why mjlonir went to a mortal.

Gorr kicked Thor's *** thoroughly and it took 3 of him to win in the end.

Plus the way in see it, the whisper is fact..

I did read God of Thunder and I'm glad I did otherwise I would have been lost

Still a silly "revelation" laugh.gif

It's a shame. I really thought they would come out with a new volume to coincide with Homecoming mean.gif

What do you think of the Absolute Azzarello Wonder Woman release? I loved the run but that thing is stupid expensive

I'm hoping they eventually come out with a omnibus for it.

The conclusion to Unworthy Thor was kind of silly. I still liked the series, but we went through all that to come back to the same place we started. Guess I need to get more familiar with Ultimate Thor now. ohwell.gif

Yeah overall the miniseries was great to me, and if there really is some greater-scope narrative payoff with regards to Thor's worthiness, so be it.

However I don't like the fact that a THIRD Thor has now been introduced laugh.gif. I'm not particularly chomping at the bit with regards to this new character.

I was interested when I saw that the endgame of the miniseries was the Ultimate hammer, but if I were in charge I would have elongated this entire unworthy/Jane Foster arc and then actually GIVEN the thing to him at the very end as some kind of big reveal

IRRC Ultimate Thor was (should be dead right now) more or less the same as 616 Thor.

However, at the beginning, (Ultimates) the idea was tossed around that Ultimate Thor was a volunteer for the Norwegian super-solider program and given a super strength-granting belt and a non-magical, technological superweapon (Mjolnir) so that in a patriotic sense he could be celebrated as the Norse hero Thor. The thing is that he allegedly went crazy and began to believe he was the ACTUAL god and not an Earthling powered by science.

There was some back and forth in the story regarding whether or not Thor was REALLY Thor or whether or not he was just a schizo wielding superweapons (most characters believed the latter, and it was written so the reader believed it too). Eventually it was revealed that he was the real deal like in the 616-verse. IDK how he diverges from 616 Thor after that; I stopped keeping tabs on Ultimate Marvel (except Spidey) after X-Men went to **** and Ultimatum ****** it all up more

Ultimate Mjolnir is a zillion times more powerful than regular Mjolnir btw
