the thread about nothing...

Some people think you don’t need alarms on second-story windows. Think they can save a few bucks, you know, and still be safe. Another way they save money is they don’t hook up the alarm to the phone line. So the bell rings, but the cops don’t come. Or they come, but only after the neighbors call. Which, um, if this community’s tight, as you say, you know… just might be quick enough to save your life… or your children’s lives. Maybe.

$20 to hang out with co workers....FOH

Why they always gotta ask for $20 for food though? AND the food be wack too. These are the things I don't like. I passed on last years Christmas party at work due to the fact that the people on my floor were rude daily and never said good morning to me. I made it my business to be out of the office for the entire day.

I paid $25 for my annual office picnic

The food was great but I don't attend anything else my office does lol

Quick question.

If somebody intentionally walks into the middle of a busy 2 way street, just to keep people from "speeding" (its the drag of a big neighborhood, also with a police station on the same strip). If they see you coming, then walk into the street causing you to slam on brakes, with total disregard to the others behind you, if i ran them over, what charges would i be facing? Ill even call a paramedic and tell the police i did it.
Theyre jaywalking so IDK, but the law always sides with the pedestrian

Sigh...... People are working my last nerves right now.

Some dude from work is retiring, I dont rock with this dude AT ALL. I dont speak to him, I dont go near him, none of that. But everyone and their mom wants to make a huge deal out of this and forcing everyone to be involved including myself. Asking me to make food and when I said no they made a scene and make me look like a jerk. "OMG Antidope why dont you want to do it, hes leaving! its such a big deal OMGZERS" So of course I cave and say I will even though I dont want to and cant stand this guy, but thats not where it stops no no no no....

The person who is organizing this just asked me why I havent made a donation to his gift card.... SERIOUSLY? I thought donations were voluntary? So now not only do I have to make food, but I have to give money to a guy that I dont even like because of what? Taking sick days on every party from here on out because this is BS
I think it's dope that your co-workers call you Antidope..
but really why don't you like the guy?
Does he like you?
Hes just flat out annoying to me. He does a multitude of things that rub me the wrong way. I'm 90% sure that he doesnt like me either, we have a mutual understanding and we dont speak at all. We're the first two people to get to work most days and not a word is uttered until others get here.
I am with you 100% on this.  We do stuff like this all the time.  We have some one retiring or moving jobs every 2 weeks and we have to get something together for them.  Or its some ones birthday.  Or some one loses a loved one, or gets hurt and is in the hospital.  There is something new every single week that we are asked to "donate" for.  And they bug you every day if you say no.

We have our spring cook out today.  There are sandwiches and sodas and they are setting up "games".  But its $20 a person.  I said no....you would have thought i told them i murder puppies in my free time.

"What why don't you want to come"

"Eh $20 is kind of a lot i think ill pass"

"But its not about the $20 you get to have fun with your coworkers"

"I will come and not eat and hang out then"

"then just pay the $20"

I always find "things" that come up during these events now.  Its so sad but I don't get why people don't understand that i don't want to do this crap.  Don't get me wrong if i like the person or they are a direct coworker i will help out.  But if i helped with everything it would be $100 or more.
PREEACCHHHHHHHHH. Every two weeks with this nonsense

Started my second summer class today...the syllabus is :rolleyes plus its a 6 week class :x

Hate introductions too :rolleyes

Sucks when you're the youngest person in the office. Feels weird.
This is also me. 25 years old and the majority of  people mid 30s. They hired some 26 and 27 year old people but theyre in a different department. Mad awkward at times cause they have opinions about things that I'm just like "Nah B nah..."

I just don't connect with my co workers. I'm 32 and I'm like....

. Luckily I can make my own schedule and just focus on work. I'm not good at "office talk". I get my work on the day done and be out.

Thinking of signing my life over to (working) the shipyard. I need a new car, but there has to be a easier way.

I think going to sleep late and being on the computer for 8+ hours a day is taking a toll on me. I may go for a drive little later, I feel complacent also.

liberosis n. the desire to care less about things—to loosen your grip on your life, to stop glancing behind you every few steps, afraid that someone will snatch it from you before you reach the end zone—rather to hold your life loosely and playfully, like a volleyball, keeping it in the air, with only quick fleeting interventions, bouncing freely in the hands of trusted friends, always in play
