We all grew up listening to what our parents might have played for us, but really had NO idea what they were talking about until we got older...what are some of the more surprisingones you didn't know about?

I mean damn, imagine the look on my face when I realized what that Ice Cream cone was doing.
 
I feel like I could list any Motown song. "Poppa Was A Rolling Stone" is the 1st thing that pops into my head.

Minnie was most definitely a freak on the low (nothing wrong with that).


Remember she came from the bugged out/psyched out Rotary Connection camp so she wasn't exactly an "angel" (in terms of music).

wouldnt say i didnt know the meaning of it at the time, but at 21 i have more of an appreciation for Drunk x Hot Girls than i did when i was 17.
 
The Slim Shady LP, i remember listening to this when it came out ( i was in elementary school ) and not really understanding what he was saying

Def. Minnie. I know this is a spin off thread.

Me and my girl were debating this a few months back, I wouldn't accept the fact she was actually talking about nuttin in her. I argued that it was a deeper metaphorical meaning. The song was too beautiful for that

Wasn't until 6th grade until I knew what Sheena Easten's Sugar Walls was about...Figures Prince wrote & produced it for her...That song is hella nasty....LOL. Co-sign on Minnie Ripperton...
