This. So what's the deal with the Lebron 9 Elites?
My only thing with every athlete wearing the same shoe is the theory that every shoe is built differently for every type of player.

I consult with Youth Athletes and Programs on what cleats and Footwear to utilize for a specific type of player and namely for Nike products and when the kids hear my boys at the Swoosh say one year.. shoes are specifically built for THIS type of athlete and then see every athlete wearing the same footwear its ambiguous...

What if Shaq were on the Nike Roster and Olympic Team.. could he wear this?
What if Allen Iverson were on the Nike Roster and Olympic team .... could he wear this?

I'll seek professional advice..

I wonder if Leo did these as well....

I was just about to say this lol. Idk how I feel about the basketball specific lunarlon cushioning setup due to it being able to "bottom out". I would much rather prefer a zoom air setup which generally holds up better. Interested in the exposed flywire and how that will work. It's a little bit of an "out there" design but who knows, maybe this will be an awesome shoe depending on the performance/colorways they put out. Just my 2 cents. smiley: laugh

Nike Lunar Hyperdunk 2012.
2nd generation flywire.

Very interested to see how functional the flywire will actually be this time around as opposed to the plastic laminated crap we gotten these last couple of years passed off as innovative.

BTW Check out Counterkicks for the additional colorway posted there several weeks back.

smiley: wink

But, if the pic is any indication, KD and Kobe will still wear their sigs, Lebron and Deron Williams will wear the new HDs, and everyone else's shoes are probably just their preference.  About these looking like the Lebron Elite samples, I'm thinking that these might just replace the Lebron Elites

Lebron and DWill aren't wearing the HD 2012 with the Lunarlon cushioning in that photo, they're definitely wearing a version with different tooling. You can see it more clearly in these photos:

And here you can see DWill changes into the Lunarlon Hyperdunk:

^Good find, reminds me of the Air Max 360 BB's tooling, if it even is Air Max like it looks:

I'm thinking it might be the Zoom-within-Max setup that we've seen some samples in the past few months, especially since those samples had an upper very similar to the HD 2012. There was word that those samples were meant to be an early version of the Lebron IX Postseason, but it's possible that A) Those were in fact samples of this version* of the Hyperdunk 2012 and not samples of the Lebron IX Postseason, or B) The Lebron IX PS will share it's tooling (or at least it's cushioning type) with this version* of the Hyperdunk 2012.

*this version meaning the variance of the HD 2012 that appears to have a non-Lunarlon tooling

The visible fly wire is pretty dope.. Just not feeling the shape of the shoe

From what the head of Global Basketball said, Eric Avar designed these.

It looks like there's a Lunar and Air Max versions of the Hyperdunk 2012 I think it will be Durant, D Will and others actually wearing the Hyperdunks during the Olympics with Kobe and Lebron wearing their elite versions of their signature models. It doesn't make sense to bust off $200-250 dollar models respectively for 10-25 games of exposure
