Got some Gucci News. It applies in the United States, not sure about Canada.

Found this info. on a Gucci Sale coming up.

PRE-SALE STARTS TUESDAY MAY 20, 2008This event is INVITE only so there is big sign up or a sale section yet. What you want do to is ask for the store managerand tell them you got a INVITE to the pre-sale and you would love to view there "Sale List". Each manager has a master sale list of all the itemsthat will be going on sale 6/3/08. They will show you all the items that will go on sale in the following weeks. If you want something you MUST pay for it onthat day, NOTE you can NOT take it home yet it will be placed in the back. Of course you'll get a recepit plus a Gucci hold ticket. Then on Tuesday June3rd your item will be ready for you to pick up.

SALE STARTS TUESDAY JUNE 3, 2008
This event is open to everyone. But most of all the good handbags and shoes are all already gone due to the presale. But you never know each store isdifferent.

What kind of event is it? I've been to a couple events in-store (RL, Gucci, Prada) and department stores (Bloomingdales, Saks, Barneys) and for themost part it's just a way to get you to the store and check out their stuff. It has some amenities like drinks and snack with a dj or music of some sortbut nothing really special unless your into that stuff or havbe nothign better to do. However, it depends on the event itself. It should tell you what kind ofeven it is, a trunk show, a fashion show, etc...

I have no idea what kind of event it is...i was with my girl when she was looking for a purse and the salesman that helps her all the time invited me. Allhe did was put my name on the list and told me it was an event for mens. Maybe theyre introducing their summer collection? no idea
 
Probably a trunk show.

They will allow you so see the new collection. Maybe purchase before released to public, Not sure about this party tho.

Guy got it as a gift did not like it so sold it to me for 40% of the retail price. Thinking of bringing it back to gucci for store credit since seeing 5tanpost, cause odds are Canada will have the similar sale soon.
The guy could not bring it back because it was over 10 days but i know someone who works there and he said it would be cool if i did.
 
Thats a good score on the bag.... Get that Store Credit... lol.

just wondering...what if the store manager ask for your name and tries looking it up in the system? how do i get the invite?

From what I've been hearing, the invite is word of mouth.

And you would hear that from people who are already in the system.

Not sure how that goes for folks without an account there, as I doubt I'll be participating.

great minds think alike, I almost picked that up yesterday. I want to find the Damier one with the LV buckle, though.
 
^ Yeah I was telling 5tan that yesterday, I only see the white one with the "LV" buckle. I'll probably pick up the Inventeur (sp) sometime thisweek.
 
went by gucci Toronto today, they will be having the sale in June also.
The store is under renovations right now, it was so damn small. Belt selection was limited.

Nice bag, do they have it in black monogram though? I like the subtle look of the black monogram but I'm not 100% sure if they make this bag inthat color.
