NT925, That doesnt seem right. I am usually a 32/33 depending on the brand and those Balmain fit me almost spot on. The waist is a hair loose, but nothing major and I wear my clothes fitted. They were originally ordered for a guy that is a 36 and he coukd not even get them closed.

Interesting, because i have the grey version of those they fit 2 sizes big...

It could be one of two things... 1) They have two different fits in the biker jean.  One has an 18cm leg opening and one has 17cm opening, while that is only roughly a half an inch that adds to the tapering throughout the entire leg. 2) It is the material used.  I know some of the denim they use is 100% cotton and some has a cotton/elastene blend, which contributes to the stretch.

I'm not saying that your experience is incorrect, I just have not experienced that myself.

This Balmain F/W13-14 Collection is simply blowing me away, piece after piece. Don't think i'll be buying much of any other brands this summer hahahah

Also, This New Hermes Collection is amazing, the materials used by Véronique Nichanian are exquisite. Which include astakhan (baby lamb fur) here is a very interesting article on it as well http://thedreamstress.com/2012/01/terminology-what-is-astrakhan/ , bark colored mink used on the reversible turtleneck, leather corduroy used on a leather jacket, and leather pants which is really a ribbed nubuck lambskin. The chiffon crocodile navy cardigan is very interesting as well. I see myself in every single one of these pieces, and when i get some of them I will probably share with you all.

DiirtyVandal, in my experience I have had to go up one size. I usually am a 32/33 and the 34 has worked for me fine.

Balmain jeans have different cuts so it really is something you have to try on. Some are slim cut and some aren't.

SSense has measurements up to size 34 if you want to check it out: http://www.ssense.com/men/product/balmain/indigo_reinforced_distressed_biker_jeans/66133
Just click on the size guide on the right of the size drop down.

MrPorter also has a pretty good measurement chart for each size but they do not have any jeans on stock right now.

Overall Balmain tends to have really wide waist and then heavily tapers. Like a size 30 would have 33"-34" waist then have a 6" leg opening in the bottom, it is that insane.

Barneys in NY never carry any 38's ... so its like i gotta order them online and hope they fit. Not sure if i wanna go thru that. Maybe measuring myself would be the best way to see if they'll fit.

By looking at the size 34 Balmain pants (not jeans but sizing should be similar) at MrPorter, the size 34 has a 38" waist, the 35 has a 38.5" waist. I say give the size 34 a try at Barneys and you might be surprised. This particular pair at Barneys looks baggier side of Balmain jeans: http://www.barneys.com/Balmain-Distressed-Biker-Jeans/502599998,default,pd.html?cgid=men&index=0
Those are precisely the pair I was referring to that I tried on a 34 and they worked rather well.  They were still a tad big in the waist and could use a couple small darts, but my legs fit which was my big concern knowing that they taper so much.

Looking at a new daily messenger bag. Got my eyes on YSL Hamptons messenger bag from a few seasons back. Can't decide between nylon or leather though. Difference in price would be around $200+.

Your thoughts?

RFX, I remember you purchasing the Rogue Moto Cross Jeans

I am thinking about purchasing the Olive jeans...I need to know the fitting...

Being that it's a slim fit...Do I need to size up? I truly wear a 34, but if it's skin tight, I need to size up because of my thighs.

The rogue moto denim has more stretch to them than I thought. I'm usually a 29 or 30 depending on designer, so I went with 30 just to be safe. They are a little loose around the waist and a bit loose (after a few wears) throughout the leg.

I'm 5'8, 150 btw.

Thank you so much. I feel safe getting those 34's.
