I agree with your statement, things are only worth what they are to the individual buying them. I take a very direct approach and rationalize based off of materials used, production location, details in the item. Most of it is very logical but if there is still an emotional attachment towards that object, I might be swayed to pay less attention to the facts.

Givenchy is the most prevalent example for me because I idolized it. The more designers and the more pieces I looked at, felt, bought, the more I realized the personal value wasn't there for me with Givenchy.
 
Ehh, I just can't get down with the moto collar. But the more I look at the Givenchy piece, the less I like it. This Burberry would do the trick, but definitely not anywhere near retail...

Been looking for some beige/khaki colored jeans, I like the old Balmains but those are long gone. Really considering these bikers instead but anybody got any other suggestions?

Nice Balmain, I got this Blk Dnm jacket for a really good deal on Blk Friday and they are surprisingly warm.

The pants came in. They're very durable and heavy. 98% cotton.  And they provided the padding for the jeans. These are total worth it.
 
Nice, how padded are they or is it just padded if you place the padding on the knee? Or does it have the kevlar by the thighs as well?

Also sizing info? Slim?
 
No padding in the knees and hips only if you add the protectors.  

They're slim straight fit. They are not tight at all. I wear a 34 and it's not that wide at the top. Although I have a little room at the top, they're not to the point where the pants are falling off my waste without a belt. Makes sense?

I have a question about the fit of Balmain bikers. I usually see on sites the Slim or Skinny fit, but recently I found a site that carries the Classic fit. For the past few years I've been wearing Nudies Grim Tim because the fit is perfect for my legs (I have pretty big thighs and larger calves). The fit on the Grim Tim is described as "Slim Straight fit" on the Nudies. I'm just curious as to which Balmain fit would be the most similar to the Nudies? The exact measurements of the Nudies (as per the site) are: waist-16.7in, front rise-9.5in, leg opening-7.4in.
 
to give you an idea, I wear 31 in Nudies Grim Tim and have to go 30 for balmain I can even go 29 if the thighs and calves area aren't that tight. The fit is very different, for the Balmains, the waist fit big where the thigh and calves fit really tight as you mention. Nudies are definitely more comfortable for me also, but Balmain got that look.

Thanks dude. I came across the sale last night but the measurements of the jacket seem strange to me so I didn't pull the trigger (I think I'm in between an M and an L). I really wish my damn TOJ MA-1 would get here so I could assess the versatility of that before I made another purchase. That said, I'm 100% ordering a QBCDR before the cut-off. Hopefully it will arrive before 2015 :rofl:

Some of the prices on Porter are crazy good. Too bad we have to pay customs and duties. The Burberry jacket is listed for like $620 or whatever but we have to pay $750 all-in :x
 
Could have sworn someone said a week or two ago that ToJ was closing within a few days and now it is still open?

Order now though if you want another, the earlier you order the earlier you get it.



Also, was never really a fan of Just Don baseball caps but the Barneys collab is sort of want but I do not really want to pay $700 for them, hopefully it goes on sale sometime.

Yea I actually have that exact same shirt haha.. I was just wondering if the big check on the right side looks too tacky. I like it but I wanted some more opinions on it before I shell out $325
