It is, what it is.  You're looking at it from the outside.  If you were on the inside, you would see it from a different perspective.

These are high end luxury boutiques, not a Jordan launch at Footlocker.  The rules are different.
 
So it's right for them to lie abour a waiting list then? That doesn't happen just at Hermes. Happens at every high end shop, they put u on a "list" and then never call you. It actually ends up costing them business because as far as they know the person they just denied selling the item to was going to be a repeat customer or something but instead will shop at Saks or bergdorf where they are treated with respect. You can't let an SA act like they control you, and if you let them pressure you into buying something you don't want then you are their puppet, it doesnt matter how rich or poor u r, you're a fool in ny book. At least with a nike release they don't give a **** how many Nikes u have or how long u shop there. If that was the case I'd get every release with ease, and so would other nters. It's up to you as a person not to let these high end boutiques control you. You should be able to just walk into a shop, browse and buy/try on what u like. Not get on your knees, unzip the SAs pants and suck on that **** hoping for a chance to buy the product you really want. We're talking about $1000+ potentially, that's most people's rent, you should spend it on what you want, not to meet some snobs quota.

LIke I said earlier… it is, what it is.  I'm just playing devil's advocate, because these high end luxury boutiques have a business to run, and these sales associates have to put food on their table.

You're right about the person on the list possibly being a future repeat customer, but chances are they're not, and that's why they never get called.  If they're going to be a repeat customer, they would be buying other things besides the Birkin and building a relationship with an SA who will take care of them.  There usually is an actual wait list, but all the highly coveted and limited items get snatched up first by the sales associates, and put on hold for their top clients.  

If you owned a sneaker boutique, and you got a couple pairs of Air Yeezy's in from a surprise restock, would you call your top customers that have held your store down since day 1 and helped to keep your business a float?  Or do you say F- your top customers and put them on the sales floor for any ol' nobody who has never spent a penny in your boutique to just walk in, buy them, and then resell them on ebay?

You're also right about not letting an SA act like they control you, but what people need to realize is they have the power to walk away.  If you don't like that a store saves their highly coveted items for their top clients, walk away and shop somewhere else.  However, don't think you're making a huge impact and hurting their business when you never spent any money there to begin with and only intend to buy Birkins, because they're going to sell regardless.

It may not be right, but at the end of the day, if you want a highly coveted and limited item, you're almost always going to pay a premium for it one way or another.  Whether it's buying other things and becoming a VIP customer, camping in line for 7 days, or paying the markup price from a reseller.
 
The stores operate the way they do because people let them too. It's not right and causes them to lose business(look at Barneys for example). If I ran that boutique and got yeezys I would either hold a raffle or straight up fcfs campout with me holding the line down so people don't put ghost chairs and show up day of release fronting like they're first. I actually would like to open a shop one day and do things legit like that.

Yeah I had the same thought about his pieces as well. Looks exactly like the things he wears from other designers.
 
He made or helped design essential like pieces

For example Balmain isn't the only brand with a denim shirt and the washes/shirt as a whole aren't even the same
Not the only brand with fur jackets, long coats, so on

No way am I sticking up for kanye but it really all becomes about fabric, fit, and color with most lines

So that comparison pic is just being idiotic because essentially you can do that with any brand. Dudes just try to bash Kanye or become super critique fashion experts cause it's kanye :lol:

Like S/S 2014, disappointing. Hedi will have a hard time topping F/W 2013 imo, I could see myself wearing just about everything from that show; Even going back to the DH days that collection is probably my favorite of his. Not much here catches my eye honestly, apart from all of the perfectos. A lot of plaids, but no flannels...

His collection is looking more and more like just an extension of his prior collections. You can mix it all up and not even know which season is which. In some way it is good to stay with what works but there is nothing new and innovative and it's going to come to a point where you'll just stop buying new items from the brand. Maybe it's just me?

I liked that leather too until I saw it close-up. The white epaulets, pocket and zipper made it a bit too much for me.

Honestly, if every season looked like F/W '13 I'd be broke for the rest of my life hah. But I see where you're coming from, a lot of the pieces are so safe and similar there's no reason to buy the newer version(I feel like he's already done 4 takes on a leopard button-up). Even close up, I love the 2 toned perfecto; but I'm sure it will be well out of my price range, and even if I could shell out the money for it, I'd prefer the original one from the permanent collection.
Funny enough, I thought his outfit yesterday was 100x better than anything that went down the runway.

:lol: Yah Hedis fit was the best int he runway, I actually like the wheat suede jacket he has.

That jacke tin black from the runways nice too though but I'm really feeling the suede. And yeah the all black perfectos > the 2tone, the 2tones looks very DSquare-ish to me.

Just saw your answers first of all thanks for your input
Concerning my history with Hermes it's varies every time I've heard friends told me they would just walk in the store ask for it and get it others told me about the "buy a lot of useless things first then get your birkin" and it's actually the one that works the most thing is I don't wanna spend that much money on stuff I won't use at all so I eventually "hired" a student a friend of mine knows to go to the stores and ask if there were any he's going when he has time and hopefully they'll end up giving him the bag...
