please don't lump me in with the rest of those.
I come in here to gain knowledge and it was an honest question... honest

I'll leave peacefully, I swear!
if someone said "brand loyalty" I'd understand a bit better... even though that's some incredible loyalty, but otherwise I'm veryconfused...
its nowhere near the normal scale of "luxury" clothing., I guess these brands know they can go wayyy overboard with accessories and watch how itcatches on.
I guess they can just get away with "military" belts no one will ever see for $300

These accessories is an upgrade in quality, craftsmanship and service compared to the basic run of the mill accessories we find at Target or Walmart.
Like I said, there are exceptions but overall, these items has better qualities to offer, it might be a certain quality upgrade or prestige, or just a design not found anywhere else, but these items, in my humble opinion, are considered luxury and first hand experience has made me a believer. Now maybe if I move up another echelon, these things will become non-luxury but for now, it'll do me just fine.
and by the description, I take it, they're not even waxed or w/e like a $15 quicksilver belt from pacsun

Honestly, I haven't seen the LV version but my Prada version has served me well. I've had the Quicksilver, Vans, UO, etc... brands andthey usually come apart very quick.
The nylon/strings becomes undone and the most one has lasted me was about a month or two. My Prada has been worn casually at least 3-4 times a week ever sicneI got it like maybe a year ago and it still looks good. The buckle has no rust, the belt itself isn't out of shape or stretched out and no unrabbling atall. Again, I only speak of mostly from experience and so far, what I've gathered is the items I've purchased have lasted what I put it through.
LV's quality is probably going to be pretty high, with other brands I could see them buying it from a factory and putting their name on it but LVdoesn't do that, they are too strict and meticulous for that.

Like I said, there are cheaper alternatives out there and in the end, I guess it is about making money, I can't argue about that. But there is wherepracticality and reason goes out the window because really, these items should not be in your shopping list if you have to worry about next months rent (sorryif I offend anyoen with that statement), so it isn't about just "seeing" how long and far they can get away with it, they do provide qualityupgrade to these items and in the end, it is up to you if you want to pay a premium for the name and for it to last longer (I mean LV luggages from the40's and 50's still survive to this day), or keep purchasing the same items over and over and save a few bucks. I hate to repeat myself but again, luxury can be viewed in different ways, ones person luxury could be anothers trash. Like my example, to some Rolex is an epitome of luxury while Watch IdiotSavants will argue otherwise.

If there is a tone of anger in my statement, I did not mean it and I always try to keep it peaceful so take no offense in what I said. Just sharing my opinionand I can respect anyones as long as they have a valid reason/purpose.

^ this man speaks the truth. Unfortunately LV quality has been decreasing, but its still better quality then most other brands. His prada held together for ayear and looks brand new, yet people consider prada to have poor quality compared to other high end brands. You cant come in here with a nike or adidasmentality, these items come from a standard that some people don't comprehend yet. Are there less expensive brands with better quality? yes, but youralways paying for the prestige and history first, designer second, and quality third.

I don't understand why every other week someone has to come in here, pull a kanye and voice their opinion like it matters to the rest of us.

...but when LV doesswitch to india i'm done

, we know, same here.
I appreciate the response and I think I have more to say but... I'd rather not..
I think people are getting the impression that I'm trolling or amazed at the prices you guys pay...
but I'm not... just inquiring about 1 specific item, but its ok, I guess I can live without knowing

^^^ Those Gamme Bleu are made by Thom Browne for Moncler, very pricey but it certainly brought some sophistication to the brand.

I get what you are saying though, that there is a cheaper version and that LV just slapped their logo on that belt, it's too expensive for something thatcan't be seen and such. Honestly, even though I have not seen the belt in person, I don't think LV will skimp on the material they use on the belt andthe craftsmanship. It's not exactly trying to be the army-esque, it is about style and fashion. Similar to the resurgence of work wear style in the pastcouple of years. Who would have thought plaid and heavy lugged boots would be a trend or a style most follow? The same with this, LV has taken the army beltand put their own twist to it and probably upgraded the quality as well. They added their own detail and name on it, they most likely manufactured itthemselves as well.

About it being seen, I actually tuck most of my shirts in when possible so it will be seen. It's not jsut about displaying it or the logo though because asyou mentioned, most will probably won't show their belts so I will go back to the quality and style. You won't have to worry about it getting messed upso easy and if anything happens, bring it to LV and they will try and fix it, hopefully with a smile and for free. Sure we can get a well made one fromKaufmans Army & Navy surplus store for authentic items the army and navy actually uses but again, if you want that look and design and detail and of coursethe name, then you'd have to go to LV. No practicality or reason, just because it is a want and not a need.

Ok, I won't drag the subject any further, I felt like I just wrote another thesis to get out of college.

I saw a photo of a brown hoody with damier lining in the lookbook at LV this weekend.
Has anybody seen it in person? It looked really nice!
