I wouldn't call him a bust.

hmmm 16.8 points per game, 7.6 assists per game, 5.1 rebounds per game. He's a 6''4 point guard, who's athletic as %+%+ and he's only 21???? I would take him over a lot of pgs in this leaugue, and I don't even like the guy. those averages are already better than Andre Miller for his career, and look how much money he's made in his long career. Wall is going to be a superstar in this league, no doubt about it.

Your friend is an idiot...I believe Wall is playing well with what he has to work with. Hell, both annointed scorers on that squad are shooting below 40%. (Young and Lewis), plus they're main scorer off the bench is another chucker shooting below 40%. Both his legit big men are headcases. I'm actually suprised he hasn't gone off the deep end and said F it and start treating his teammates like a summer league squad and just get his numbers. The fact he's still passing the ball to these scrubs is a sight to see.

John Wall will be the best pg in the league, his ceiling is non-existant. Even Flip commented on how, his flaws are all very coachable.
As far as how he ranks right now? I would still have him top ten as far as pg's go. Better than Jennings for sure. I never got the hate with Knight either, he was a steal.

Wall is weak as hell compared to the best how can you say that?  Today I will take Kyrie Irving going forward because he is more of a sure thing.  Wall is caught up in his own fame unless this little rising stars incident wakes him up.  I prefer that Kyrie can shoot and doesn't turn the ball over so much to get his stats.  His dribble moves are something else.

He averaged more assists than all of them did in year one...and thus far thru year 2.
If he's a "combo guard" he's  DAMN good at masquerading as a point guard.

How old is Wall? 20?

He will be is a big stretch when the guy shoots bricks and turns the ball over 4 times a game.  Don't twist what I'm saying here but Lin racks up stats while turning the ball over a lot.  I respect stats a lot more when they don't come with so many turnovers.  The guy can't hit a three to save his life and Irving is 19.  Honestly I guess I'm just biased towards my basketball philosophy in that I like a PG that can shoot and be under control, though Wall makes up for it as much as anyone in other areas.  Honestly we both don't know the future but it's a good discussion.

Kyrie's smarter and more efficient. John Wall still plays the exact same way he does in college. He definitely has it in his head that because he's faster and more athletic than everyone that he doesn't need to change up his game. He still has all the potential in the world though.

Turnovers come with youth, and fade with experience. Is Kidd not one of the all time greats? Until 06, he couldn't shoot a 3 to save his life, Rondo not up there? Your are picking and choosing man.
If I was starting a team today with a young pg, sans rose, I think I would go with wall just ahead of rubio and kyrie.

As of today

1.Rose

2.Nash

3.Paul

4.Rondo

5.Williams

6.Westbrook

7.Wall

8.Rubio

9.Lowry

10.Irving

More than fair enough but they proved it, he has not.  If I brought out all the guys who didn't change then I can pick and choose too.  Turnovers is a very legit point on your part, but look how fast he plays I don't know if his brain can keep up.  In crunch time of a playoff game I just don't feel comfortable having Wall as my leader and I don't really see it changing going forward.  I'm just playing armchair GM not saying my argument is law.  Kyrie on today can already shoot and is more under control, but no he does not have the potential of Wall of course not.  I wouldn't pay a lot of money in free agency for Wall.

Wall will be great, just as soon as he gets out of Washington, unless they clean house. Give him a good coach, good teammates, and a mentor and he will blossom.

Wall is doing fine, considering his team, and the lack of them having a veteran point guard on the roster to mentor him.
