Parker battled tonight. He didn't have his best stuff but was able to give us 6 solid. Props. And FINALLY Reddick. My god. :lol: :smh:

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Oakland Athletics have set an American League record for striking out the most in a season.

Chris Carter's strikeout in the second inning Wednesday night at Texas was the team's third of the game and 1,325th this season, one more than the Tampa Bay Rays had in 2007. The A's quickly added to that total when Brandon Moss followed with an inning-ending K.

Oakland already had four strikeouts through two innings, but also had a 5-3 lead at that point against the AL West leaders.

The A's, who have seven games left after Wednesday night, already surpassed their previous strikeout total by more than 100. They had 1,226 in 2008.

Give me strikeouts any day over ground out double plays. Strikeouts are important to note, but there's worse you can do in the batter's box.
 
Damn, the O's keep winning.

LAA/Tex play a double-header tomorrow. Thats gotta be a win-win for us.
 
Somebody on the A's FB page posted that Trout tipped over a table in rage at their clubhouse as Moss hit that walk-off HR. I doubt it's true, but it made me chuckle!
 
Was at Saturday's game. Just amazing.

It's going to take a sweep of Texas to take the division but at least we have a shot. I really want to win tomorrow because then we have a spot clinched and there will be much more pressure on Texas. I still can't believe what has happened this season. :lol: Just ridiculous to be in the position we are in, but damn am I glad we are here.

This is going to be another week of exciting baseball. :pimp: Let's go fellas!
 
congrats to the A's on clinching a Playoff spot now to take the division away from Texas would be awesome.
 
Unbelievable. :pimp: Its been a while since 2006, feels good to get back there. Hopefully Melvin can keep these guys focused for the rest of the series. We got a shot to do a lot more damage. Let's keep it rolling. :pimp:
 
It's been a great year thus far. The A's have a chance to do something special in the post season. Really exciting baseball. :pimp:
 
I can't lie, this is the most excited I've been with this team just because of how shocking all this has been. I really thought we would lose close to a 100 games.

I loved how Parker was like "we've done a lot this year but we know we're not done." I really hope this is everyone else's mentality. It's great to get back to the playoffs but this is just a start.
