Try again, if anything that would just make the resellers increase their prices even more
Raising prices won't eliminate anything

Raising prices only hurts us. Just produce more shoes in more areas and limit how many people can get.

Colorways save the shoe game period. Imagine if every shoe just had a white version and a black version, would you still be into shoes? most likely no.

agree.
look back in the day with other sigs.. shox VC, you would have 3-4 colourways per sig that would actually release. the rest were PEs (and even then, there was like 1-2 PEs).

even lebron's/kobe's back then didn't have many colourways. i doubt nike made much money back then on these sigs with barely anything to offer its consumers.

Only Lebron kicks I ever liked were the 1st Zoom Generations and I actually LOVED the VIII. They went backwards with the IX IMO.

Hope full length zoom is in the X's.

And NIKE, PLEASE STOP IT WITH THE COLORWAYS.

How many different colorways did they have for the Lebron 9??? Just keep it to 3-4 at MOST.

sorry........... but Nike, keep the colorways coming. If you dont like the colorway, dont buy it. its good to have options.

I agree with this. Having options is always a plus with sneakers and many other things in life.

There is truth to this in some regards as I said early on with the 1st Generation Flywire.... but if you have EVER been to the Kitchen or the Nike Lab in Beaverton and see all the testing they do you will realize they dont mess around when it comes to inventing or conceptualizing new tech.
What happens often though is they research new advances they could use in footwear... determine its too much to actually produce then scale it down to make it more feasible and market the actual initial concept.

To your point of marketing.

To the point of old tech still working.. thats also true because other shoe companies dont come close to the offerings Nike does but still sustains their business. Reebok was forced to make up that zig tech crap and Adi came up with that Climacool stuff... but eva is what it is.. and Nike still uses it in ALOT of Jordan team footwear and Nike forefoot footwear do that alone tells you its functional...

Yet Nike markets its new tech as such and tells you they sell the old stuff for people who have different needs and pricepoints. Even though Jordans from 1986 and on are resold for more than they originally did.   Hence Marketing Genius.

By the way... the X... will please many. Dont expect the treatment you got on the 9's though..  Remember the treatment on the V's and VI's... ?  then the VIIs and VIIIs we were left wanting more?  Expect that replay.

Vood I agree with you as well ....but think of it this way...
Nike designers are responsible for more than a few kicks per season per year to design and develop.  I know designing kicks are most designers passion but Im surprised more dont get burned out.  Can you imagine having to design THAT many shoes and they ALL have an original concept and look?

This is why Nike is great at what they do... marketing. I will also go back to my fav the Zoom 2K3 which released in 2003 but can out perform ANY shoe released today in my opinion of course.....but I seriously think too much focus is being placed on making the lightest shoe instead of the most stable best performing shoe.  I think the lighter you get the more structural integrity you lose while losing performance.

When leather makes a return I for one will be damn happy.....but we all know it will never be the same leathers from before.

the only way to eliminate resellers is for nike to make a surplus of shoes imo
and the prices are too rich for my blood...but im still in school with other priorities. ill live..

we wanted more because of the designs of the VIIs and VIII's as opposed to the V's and VI's?

lmaooo in other words he is saying the Xs wont need a bunch of colorways and limited edition gimmicks to sell the design like the IX did, shows that nike knows when the design is weak and needs more marketing schemes

So will we see a step up in design for the X?

The design of the IX sucked, but colorways PUSHED it, a lot. If the IX got the same colorway treatment as the VIIIs they would be sitting on shelves.

The design of the IX sucked? Seriously? I've said it before, but the VII's were on my radar, the VIII's were an attention grabber, but the IX's got me away from Jordan Brand. A great design IMO, with stellar color choices. The Lebron line was doo-doo pre-7. Yeah I said it. Garbage. They finally got it right and I'm damn interested to see what they come up with for the X. From what JP said, it's sure to please. I just hope the price doesn't climb.

The design of the 9s are horrid to me. The colorways is what sold me and I'm sure the majority of the people who bought IXs would agree with me.
