I want to change my diet and not eat fried foods and bread. Any suggestions on a healthy diet.
Thanks NT.

I used to have a bad outlook in that I would eat whatever I wanted as long as I worked out. That plan worked as far as maintaining and being in decent shape, but once I changed my diet for the better, the results were phenomenal.

I actually changed my diet for the better last year by cutting way down on fast food and eating out and cutting out sodas and junk foods. I replaced the sodasand junk foods with water/fitness waters/vegetables and have eaten more lean meats and less fats and carbs. I have always worked out regularly and have been ingood health and a good physique, even when eating unhealthy. However once my diet improved, so did gains in physical performance and appearance.

ima try to eat more fruit...i really need to loose weight....

Ummm.....bread is good for you. Why would you cut that out?

It's the other garbage that isn't supposed to be in your diet. People get so caught up in hollywood fad diets they tend to get brainwashed as far aswhat they should be eating. Stick to this and you'll be ok.

Notice bread is part of the foundation of a healthy diet.

The only other thing I'd add to this that IMO should be on it, is 6-8 glasses of water per day. Drinking water will greatly improve your diet.

- less coke, want to have it maybe once a week (5-6 servings a day isnt good)
- more fruit
- no fried food

of course, once a week i'll have a cheat day where i can eat whatever. i plan on not binging too bad tho

cut soda (anything with high sugar) completely out of your diet, wheat bread instead of white bread, eat lean meats like turkey/chicken breast, a lot ofvegetables.

Vegetables should compose the lion share of your diet, ie 8-10 servings a day. 1-2 servings of fruit will be sufficient, and this doesn't mean fruitjuices. Eat fresh fruit whenever possible and limit fruit juices as they often contain lots of added sugars. Be sure to eat one cruciferous (green) and onepigmented (ie carrots, bell pepppers) per day for the folate and carotenoid pigments.

Don't cut out carbs, as they should compose 45-65% of your daily energy needs. The key: stick to complex carbohydrates, ie anything whole wheat. Absolutelyavoid white bread, and added sugars whenever you can.

When choosing protein sources, limit fatty (ie bacon, sausage, deli meats) and try to eat as much seafood and chicken as possible. Red meat should only be oncea week. Eating fatty fish such as salmon or herring twice a week will supply your body with omega-3 fatty acids that enhance cell membranes, lower bloodcholesterol, blood pressure, and may even enhance neural function.

Limit saturated fats, ie butter, palm oil, coconut oil, and any animal fats. If you're eating a piece of pork or beef be meticulous in trimming all the fatoff. Eat 2-3 tablespoons of mono- and polyunsaturated fats such as canola, olive, flaxseed, sunflower and safflower oil per day. These are beneficial to youand mandatory as they contain essential fatty acids that your body needs daily.

Hydrate with water whenever possible and avoid sodas. Limit fast and processed foods as they often contain unfavourable amounts of lipids, added sugars, andsalt. Drink milk and find a probiotic yogurt to eat daily. Probiotics will replenish proper gut bacteria and limit the growth of pathogenic bacteria in thecolon. They will also aid in the absorption of minerals such as calcium.

If possible drink 1-2 glasses of red wine per day. Red wine contains plant pigments that lower blood cholesterol.

Do these things, and your quality of life will be greatly improved.

Here's to a healthy 08.

Eating more salads and fruits. Cutting big time on the carbs. Less oily food. No more soda.

I'm anemic so I'm in need for more energy. I have a very fast metabolism and I'm trying to gain weight. That's why I'm trying to make theswitch to complex carbs, for more energy....sustained energy, and because simple carbs get metabolized quicker than complex.

I'm trying for less pop and more juice/water for now, then slowly less juice and more just water.

I'm also gonna try and cut out the snack food, that "tie me over" food, I'll survive without that.

I have the bad "I'll eat what I want as long as I work it off" thought process as well, I may try and cut that out but I'm not gonna makemyself suffer.

oh, and baby girl, baked chicken.
you can put the chicken in mixed with carrots or something, and cook it together. I'll make it for you one day if you wanna try it out

I am starting to juice (No Steroids) ... mom got me a jack lalane power juicer for xmas and I must say, this is the easiest way to eat those vegetables younever liked ... I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables regardless, but I just could never eat spinach for some reason ... now, i juice spinach with parsley andsome oranges for a delightfully refreshing drink ... I also drink cucumber, pear, celery, apple and carrot juice ... If you mix and match and add an apple whenits too tart for you, this is really the easiest way to get those vitamins and stay healthy ... Ive notied a drastic change in my energy levels

The thing about this food pyramid and diets is that People still eat processed breads (white bread for example), thinking it's healthy. The mostimportant thing is to eat a ton of whole grains, and natural complex carbohydrates. So brown rice, whole wheat pasts, whole grain bread etc. (and not regular"wheat bread" it has to say whole grain. Also 6-8 glasses of water isn't necessary for everyone. You get a lot of the water you need in food formby eating lots of fruits and veggies. Your body will tell you if you need more water.
I would also recommend taking a multi-vitamin everyday to help w/ the stuff you aren't getting. And lastly, cut out added sugars, they kill a lotof your progress.

Oh and this should probably go in Sports and Training.
whats a healthy was to cook chicken?

Broiled, baked, sauted in a bit of olive oil, there are tons of ways to do it healthily. Vegetable oils are the best thing to use if you are going to usethem. Personally I like the spray oils because you only use enough to coat the pan and the extra you normally would use isn't soaked into the food. Andno skin, it's so much animal fat (the worst kind of fat to eat).

I definitely want to change my diet. First thing I need to do is turn off the damn xbox and start exercising more so I can maintain the diet
