Ridiculous amount of incorrect reporting and office chair guessing in this thread. Not sure where people are getting their "news" from but that tweet posted is false. There is no "special box" this year. It's the exact same one we posted and originally described on CounterKicks months ago:

Air Jordan 11 Retro “Bred” is currently (could and can change) as of today set to be housed in the new-to-2012 but ultimately regular modeled black cardboard Jordan Brand boxes with the huge Jumpman logo on the box tops and enlarged size labels and style description on the front that every other Jordan shoe comes in.

Makes sense because shoes are produced like 3-4 months in advance so imo, I wouldn't call the early pairs "fake" but definitely they are usually flawed. For once, these early pairs have looked good though compared to last year's concord fiasco. Early pairs to me now a days just seem like mass produced samples, whereas before, samples would just be like 1 pair and then little changes were always made for the official release. It's just now, it's on a larger scale now and it's much more noticeable compared to before. Back then, 1 dude may have got their hands on a sample and flip them for 1k+ early but now everyone has access to early pairs, I see no difference.
 
So that's just the box with a red translucent lid? That sucks. Thought they'll come in the usual special box. Oh well. Who cares, I'll be getting mine in anyway.
 
this is a very strategic drop. nike's only getting closer to clenching a highly unanticipated 200$ retail sticker

yep, i'm sold. i don't care what box they come in so long as it stacks up in the closet with the rest of the boxes. i don't wear the box and no one sees it but me so i don't give a rip about the dang box. shoes look good, that's all that matters to me.
