Slept badly on the Foam Lites.....was never feeling the Skyposites though
These have potential in terms of marketing and performance: get some Zoom in that forefoot and keep the price between the Lebrons and the Kobes. The Penny heritage gives you instant numbers plus they'll have their usual limited tag and novelty colours to keep the hypebeasts beasting
Could do with a foamposite-esque forefoot swoosh if youre going to keep the swooshes small i think

Just wanted to correct you on this....the 4s were regular air bag on the heel. 180 air bag is like the Lebron IXs for example.

I actually like these. Like I say with most new shoes, seeing clearer pictures will be needed before I can make a complete judgment on the shoe's looks.
I'm not mad at Nike for starting up the Penny line again. It always felt weird to me that the line stopped with the Penny IVs.

I like these a lot! Even tho they are pretty much an updated Penny 2 , I still think they are hot tho. I mos def wanna get these.

Eh.. I still wouldn't call it a hybrid personally. Yeah they have an icey sole, but Foams aren't the only shoe that has had that. The color blocking is similar to the 2's but it's not a carbon copy by any means, the upper is totally different. The striped tongue is probably the only thing where you can draw a clear connection, to the Penny 1's. Even then the rest of the tongue is a lot different.
Whereas on a shoe like the 1/2 Cent -- the Foam on the entire medial side was based after the grooves on the Foam Ones. The Swoosh was a direct transplant from the Penny 1. The soles had a lot in common with the Foam soles, like the little holes. Airbag, etc.
The shoe looks very modern to me. The flywire, the hyperfuse, the 180 air bag. No Penny has ever used those.
Do these take inspiration from other models? Sure. Should they be labeled a hybrid? Not at all. It's a totally new shoe.

Even though this picture shoes multiple colorways, there could always be more releasing, or some of the pictured colorways might not release.

the air bubble like on the penny 4 use to be considered 180 air, even though it didnt go halfway through the shoe. Now nike is using a new 180 air bag, like on the lebron 9 and it will also be used on some other upcoming shoes.
