I am making this thread for anyone who has finished A Dance With Dragons If you have not finished that book, what are you waiting for?!

I love these books and have great deal to say but for now I turn the floor over to the somewhat next level readers of ASOIAF on NT.

They are pretty good books, he is a great writer and creates an amazing world.
However, the plot twists and false deaths became tiresome after a while and I am not sure how or when he'll be able to tie everything together. I also thought A Feast for Crows was terrible and largely irrelevant to the main storyline.

Anyways if you want to read a lot of theories and good insight check out reddit.com/r/asoiaf they are pretty dedicated

Damn he care nothing about his characters I should have known as soon as they killed Ned.

We have to wait until 2015 to see Cersei and Lady Taena

Roose Bolton, he is a Halloween Costume waiting to happen.

Tommen's Kittens seem to be the only universally loved charcters.

I wonder HBO can extend out the Viper versus Mountain scene.

i have a theory of where Tyrions ex wife went
you know when Tywin told him "where ------'s go"
i think she just went home, back to her village, but tyrion doesn't know that just yet.

i hope jon snow is alive... he's my favorite "snow" can't say stark

but doubt it

just read the Theons chapter of WoW finally he's gonna die

wonder why rickon went to skagos, what's going on over there?

is bran one of those "children of the forest" now?

i was sad that brienne was about to die by the hands of Cat but was VERY surprised that she came back in someone else's chapter

R+L=J? Any doubters out there at this point?

I'm really gonna be heart broken if (when) Tommen dies. All the kid wants to do is play with his kittens and not eat beets!!

yo i wanna know: is there any different between a white-walkers and the Others? They're the same right?

IDK if we should put this in the book thread or this tv thread. but i had a friend skip book 2 because she saw season 2.
I was trying to tell her why that's a bad move;. but she doesn't care. I need a list of things that were different in book 2 to season 2.

HBO better not cut out Cersei and Lady Taena's sleepovers. I'm still mad they got rid of Irri and Jhiqui. They were supposed to warm Dani up in those cold, lonely nights.

I think the majority of fans love Arya and Jon's characters too. Arya's storyline is one of the most interesting to me.

Can't wait for The Red Viper and The Mountain showdown. Should be epic.

im concerned about once they get too book 5 will they do the whole arya arc or not

I' ve read all the books and studied a lot of the lore but can't get an answer to this.

Why do the others not build ships and sail around the wall to get south? I know the wall has a magical barrier to stop them but why not sail around?

It would be so obvious at this point that Martin might feel like not going route anymore. He loves his plots twists too much

I have no idea. Maybe the wildlings are afraid of the water. I was going to say they didn't have any ship builders but after thousands of years they would've learned how to make something. They wanted to bring the mammoths and giants with them, ships would have to be massive to support them.

I just can't wait until the rest of the Seven Kingdoms see for themselves what's happening at the Wall and North of the Wall. The Watch sent out all those letters but everyone just laughed about it. They are royally screwed. There are so many people still fighting for or going after the crown. Will the invasion of the Others unite everyone or will they all die? Dani and her dragons could be their saviors. She still needs to find 2 other riders for her dragons then you'll have the 3-headed dragon Targaryaen sigil :smokin. She might be able to unite all the Dothraki khalasars and bring them with her too.

I think he was talking about the "white walkers" not the free man.
and if you were the others are minda mindless. but dont you remember, I think it was book 4 or 5. jon sent people to that island or other land. and the others were already there (unless that was a dream)
so they may be walking through water and everything. the wall just prevents them from going that route to the south

Damn you're right. Didn't realize he meant the Others. We still don't know much about the Others. In the books they're supposed to be difficult to see. Not sure what they're fully capable of doing.

Jon Snow's Mom is Lyanna Stark and his father is Rhaegar Targaryen. K thx bai.

I don't see why people have a problem with this being brought up in the TV thread. When is it going to be the appropriate time? In 8 years when the official reveal is made in the show? The evidence that we've had as book readers was laid out in 1998. It's a joke to think that people who just watch the TV show don't want to discuss this.

It's not nearly as clear or hinted as it is in the books. Most casual watchers wouldn't have a a clue.

I re-watched the scene where Ned and the King talked about Lyanna in the crypts of Winterfell. All they talked about was Rhaegar being dead. No mention of Ned going to the Tower, killing the Kingsguard, and finding his sister bleeding and dying. I don't remember if Ned referenced making his sister a promise on the show. He might've, i'm not sure. If they talked about any of that in later conversations then I forgot. It's easy to say it's so obvious since the books have way more detail about the incident. If I asked my friends who are strictly show watchers they'd have no clue since the other characters in the show speculate Ned was unfaithful. Even Robert doesn't know. The biggest clue was when I think Catelynn mentioned he went off to war and came back with a baby.

Jon has all the physical features of a Stark. It would've been cool if he was immune to fire like Dani.

- from what i can remember, there are 3 targaryans left (if we include JS), so those will naturally be the three unless there is a twist from Martin
- Others/White walkers cant venture all the way south since their capabilities correlate to the temperature apparently...so i dont think they'll be making it all the way south to the Reach and Dorne especially. Depends on the type of winter really.

Yeah, the winter will need to be bad for them to travel further south. In the War for the Dawn, the Others were able to travel south into Westeros and were trying to destroy everything. If the Wall comes down, they'll ravage the North and make their way down.

tyrion or ser barristan can be the 3rd rider also..

and none of my strictly show watchers will know what I'm yalking about when it comes to the show. so we shouldn't spoik show watchers.
