(Spoilers) ASOIAF Books Discussion (All Books Read Edition) (Spoilers)

Also who do we think Azor Ahai is and what is Lightbringer?

I'm all in on Lightbringer being a dragon(s).

Sorry I'm bored and have an early morning.

I had a conversation with a dude at a party who theorizes that r'hllor

He turned to other people in the room and asked them if they think when Jon Snow comes back to life he'll be evil. No one in the room was a book reader, they all just watch the show.

Lulz were had.

Firstly, if this wasn't a GoT themed party, the last thing you should be doing is discussing the shows various religions.

   @ him ruining Jon's death to unsullied fans.

That aside, I'm not even going to touch the argument about deity being evil and Jon's resurrection.

But I agree with you about ppl assuming the NK is a stark. I didn't catch that in the books or maybe I glossed over it. I gotta check my cliff notes aka Westeros.org lol

I completely forgot about the arya story line in the end of book 4. That could be ep 9s surprise. When she was forced to drink that stuff then collapsed before she went blind.. I thought she died and that would break the internet also

I thought about that but I doubt they make her go blind. I think her storyline this season ends with killing Ser Meryn Trant, starting off her imminent killing spree in S6, I hope.

I think both of these things can happen.. I think she kills ser meryn, which shows she hasn't given up on her old life.. Jaqen then punishes her with all of that stuff from the book

I always felt that Dany and Jon were the closest fits to the Azor Ahai prophecy. I still wonder if the whole 3 heads thing means that it takes 3 people for the rebirth.

Yeah I still expect her to go blind, probably by that salty *** looking girl that's at the temple.

I still think that it's Jon. Lightbringer, not so sure about and how he can get it to elite status, because Azor Ahai had to like stab his wife or something right? So I'm not sure.

I think it's Jon too

But first he has to come back to life and be a Targ

Crap. I forgot about Jon's warging ability. Maybe he wargs into Ghost or Wun Wun right before the fatal stab?

Maybe what breaks the Internet is Ramsay's camp running into LS?

If you're talking about the show, I personally don't think he'll warg into anything. In the books its clear Jon can warg or at least see threw ghosts eyes, but in the show they haven't hinted to it at all so if he does it'll come out of nowhere, but I do like the Ramsay running into LS part, but there will be no LS...EVER!

Do we have to spoiler tag stuff in the WoW chapters that have been released?

yea you should.
a lot of us didn't read or want to read the WoW chapters because the book isn't out yet

From Reddit:

"Evidence from the book:

*similar physical appearance

*both have blue eyes

*Euron's location was unknown during Dany's conquests and left Westeros shortly after Victarion

*Daario wasn't in Meereen during Balon's assassination and Kingsmoot

*Euron brought a huge amount of swag to Kingsmoot

*Daario earned a huge amount of swag after the siege of Yunkai

*Euron's sure that Dany will marry him and he'll get the dragons

*Daario tried to convince Dany to organize Meereen's own Red Wedding, which is a weird coincidence

*The Warlock prophecy mentioned "three mounts you must ride, one to bed, one to dread and one to love." Dany has had sex with three men, Drogo, Hizdahr and Daario. Drogo is the one to love, Hizdahr is the one to bed so by elimination, Daario is the one to dread. Dany saw 'grey lips' when "dread" was mentioned. Euron has grey lips and is a GREYjoy.

*Euron's the biggest threat Dany's facing (acc. to Moquorro)

*Daario is a pretty pointless character with an unknown motivations

*There were always month+ gaps between Euron's and Daario's sightings, almost two months long before Balon's assassination.

*It's implied that Euron's using quarthian warlock magick while sailing, so anything makes sense chronologically.

*Horn's ownership must be paid in blood - Euron killed a king once.

*Euron teases Asha by hinting that he can control the winds when she accuses him of murdering Balon

*Euron's introduced as a cunning chessmaster and seems to be playing Victarion in some way, yet he didn't do anything yet, and isn't even in Meereen.

*Euron also tried to sneak Ironborn in Oldtown by disguising them as Tyroshi - Daario is supposedly a Tyroshi

And finally

*GRRM said in a post-ADWD interview that there is more to Daario than there appears to be

*Daario leads a mercenary group called the Stormcrows

*Euron is known as "Crow's eye"

*Euron describing himself: "I am the storm, my lord. The first storm, and the last"

Evidence in the show:

*after Daario's actor being specified as "any race except caucasian" in the casting material, HBO made him white after all.

*Daario's actor getting replaced by a new one who looks like book Euron

*Daario leads the Second Sons - Euron is a second son

*in one of s4 trailers when Daario is on screen LF says "if they don't know who you are..."

*Daario's blades in the show show a women with hands covering their mouths, similar to how the prow of the silence - Euron's flagship - is described in A Feast for Crows

*Daario captures the Meereenese fleet during the siege of Meereen, something he wasn't ordered to do. Ironborn strength is at sea.

A Feast for Crows/A Dance with Dragons timeline:

*Daenerys I: ADWD 3 Daario has gone away to try and make an alliance with the Lharazeen (Unsuccessful)

*Daenerys II: ADWD 12 Daario is still away.

*Daenerys III: ADWD 17 Last time we see Dany before the Kingsmoot. She recieves a letter from the Stormcrows saying theyre returning from Lhazar. "The Stormcrows were still many days away"

*Kingsmoot - The Drowned Man (Aeron II): AFFC 20 Euron is present. 8 Chapters until the next Dany chapter.

*Daenerys IV: ADWD 24 "Storms rage within the walls and without" Daario returns to the city. At the end of the chapter she sends the Stormcrows away again. 10 chapters pass with no Euron or Dany

*The Reaver (Victarion II): AFFC 30 Euron is at the Shield Islands

*Daenerys V: ADWD 31 Dany orders for the sellswords to be recalled to the city She dreams of "Daario dead by the road as crows quarrelled over his corpse" The Second Sons return 8 days later, but the Stormcrows do not return.

*Daenerys VI: ADWD 37 17 Chapters later Daario returns to the city.

*Daario was not in Meereen during the Kingsmoot or during Eurons raids on the Shield Islands. He had plenty of time (if he had warlocks) to travel from place to place.

To be fair, in the universe of the show, him not having done it before doesn't necessarily mean he won't. They've established Starks are capable of it through Bran. Them not having shown Jon having the dreams will prob make it hit harder if/when that's what they decide to do.

On the flipside of that, though, we don't even know for sure that he wargs into Ghost, so if it happens, it'll be the show deciding that before the text does.

I don't think the show has established that. Just because one Stark can doesn't mean they all can. Plus without the wolf dreams the other Stark children had and the direction Bran's story is going it almost makes it look like Bran is the only one that can. Unless Rickon in the crypts in season one wanting to see his dad was a hint that he can too, but that would be tough to connect those dots.

I don't subscribe to the theory that Jon wargs into ghost or Whun Whun  btw.

Jon is warging into something or someone. It wouldn't make sense for Martin to establish that he's a very powerful warg in the prologue just to have him never use it.
