Commercial Appeal -
Grizzlies veteran point guard Damon Stoudamire will seek a trade or contract buyout, his agent said Thursday.

Stoudamire was removed from the starting lineup in favor of first-round draft pick Mike Conley. Stoudamire was on the inactive list for the Grizzlies' victory Wednesday over Indiana. Aaron Goodwin, an experienced NBA agent with a star-studded client list, called the decision to relegate Stoudamire to an insurance player at the point unacceptable and disrespectful.

Hey Damon, you're not starting point guard quality anymore. Get that through your head. But we got a spot for you on the Warriors bench to play behindBaron.

I was going to say the same thing. He would be a good back up.

I'm glad he wants out. Grizz have no need for him now that Conley is back. It's time to let him develop and receive starter minutes. Since Pietruswants out with the Warriors, I would like to see a Stoudamire and Warrick for Pietrus and O'Bryant trade go down.

I would like to trade Pietrus away, but not O'Bryant. I know he hasn't had the playing time, but when he's given the opportunity, I seeO'Bryant's skills. I see upside.

good riddance to minny mouse! conley is the future. he played superb last night in a win vs the pacers. with conley now healthy and lowry playing solidly, there's no use for damon.

next year: conley, gay, beasley

He's having trouble accepting that his days as a starter are over, if he was smart he would take it in stride and play the mentor role instead of gettingmad.

I guess I wouldn't mind him on the Celtics. I've never been a fan of his, he can shoot but he's not a great playmaker anymore and most other pointguards are bigger and faster than him now. But you can never have enough insurance on a playoff team.

Celts, GSW, and Cavs could all use him.

Big Z+Larry Hughes for Gasol+Stoudamire. It works, Gasol gets to go to a good playoff team, Cavs relieve their huge Hughes contract.

Why would Memphis want to take on Hughes and that contract?

hes still a good player. but hes not needed in memphis anymore. he knows that and hes better off in a different situation.

For some reason I thought one of the two Cleveland contracts were expiring,

Yeah you guys are right, wouldn't benefit Memphis much.

But Memphis does need to get rid of him, he's behind Lowry, and now Conley. They're in a logjam like ATL and Seattle are, too many good guards.

White Mamba and a bag of peanuts for Damon, do it Mitch

The lakers have no need of another pg, but this thread was lacking the "Do it Mitch"
we see in all trade posts

why couldnt he just accept that he is a bum now? just be like gary payton and accept your role as a scrub bench player

POB is a valuable asset IMO, if we trade him away it'd be a very big mistake to me..he doesn't get much PT but when he does he's shown to be morethan capable.

That said, Damon is a good fit with the Warriors. But I'll take GP

instead.
